Hi girls!  It's been awhile.  I've been busy with the kiddies since it's summer vacation and all.  Haven't been consistant with my work outs, or food, but am happy to report, that I've managed to maintain at about 134 lbs.  I'd much rather be maintaining at 130, but I'll take under 135 for now.

Sounds like everyone is doing great.  It's nice to see you all still here!

I had to jusp in on the posts once I saw "my" EDWARD being talked about. I absolutely LOVED the Twilight books..I've read them 2 times through and loved every page of it.  I'm a Twilight junkie. I've also been a vampire lover since my high school days.  I am currently reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels (the books True Blood is based on) and am pretty into it.  It's not as romantic as Twilight.  A bit more bloody and sexy..I'm enjoying it.  But, Edward still wins in my eyes.  Kiss

Other good reads (this means fast reads for me.  With children fast reads are the way to go) that are not vampire related are the Maximum Ride books by James Patterson. It's kind of sci-fi-ish, and also in the juvenile adult section in the library, but very entertaining.

Anyhow, the kids are back to school in a week, so I'll be buckling down once again to get down to that 125.  I'm almost ready to settle for below 130.  I'm thinking I want maintaining to be not too difficlut.  I want to be at a weight that I can indulge every once in awhile, skip some workouts here and there, and not see the scale move up.  I'm thinking that at 125 I would have to be very diligent to maintain.  Ah, one day at a time.  I need to see the under 130 happen first.

Wednesdays come along so quickly don't they?

LW: 134

CW: 133.4

I caught a glimpse of 132.2 the other day.  So 133.4 is a little disappointing, but I'll take it.  I was looking over my weight loss graph/trend....last year I was consistantly seeing 128-129. It's so frustrating to gain that 5 lbs only to have to work so hard to take it back off.  A year ago I was working out so much more, and eating a bit less.  I wonder if that's why I saw a gain when I worked out less and ate a bit more.  I hoping this time around to fine the right equation so that once I do hit my goal, maintenance won't be so difficult.  Did that make sense?

I love the turbo jam videos.  Most of my weightloss came from them.  It sure makes me sweat ALOT!  If it gets easy for you, then increase your intensity.  Punch harder, kick higher, run faster.  Get into it more.  When I really get into it, I can feel the muscles I worked the next day.  Lots of fun!

Hi guys!  Checkiing in...the hubby was home sick for the past 2 days so I've been busy playing nurse maid.  He's back to work today, although not very happy about it.

Anyhow, I missed weigh ins yesterday, so here it goes:

SW: 136.5

LW: 135.5

CW: 134.0

GW:125

YEAY!  Although yesterday morning I weighed in at 133.  That was shocking...but this morning, after a great big dinner of hamburger, chicken, and LOTS of fries, the scale went up a pound.  Come on self discipline!!! Where are you when I need you the most.  Oh so frustrating!  I love good food!

I forgot to mention that I bought the p90X videos.  I'm excited to try them...has anyone tried or know anyone that' done them?  I'm excited mainly cause it's a new workout.  I think my body has gotten used to my regular workout videos/running, so hopefullt this'll shake things up.  Can't wait for them to come in!

gurl0411:  I peeked at your profile.  Looks like we're "twins." I'm also 5'5 (maybe 1/4" shorter and right now am hovering at 134.  My goal is 125.  For myself I think 115 would take ALOT of dieting.  Maybe I'll re-evaluate once I hit 125. Got close once back in November (128).  I'm hoping to get there this time. Scratch that...I WILL get there this time!

Happy Monday Ladies!

Rennai:  I agree with Carrie...dog lovers..awesome.

Carrie:  Dog farts are the worst aren't they!  P U!  I feel your pain!  I'll have to post a pic of my Burny Love one of these days...He's the best dog in the world too!

Had myself a total splurge weekend this weekend.  The scale is up 1.5 lbs. But I'm not complaining.  I enjoyed my weekend immensely. Hopefully by Wednesday the 1.5 will have disappeared.

Gurl0411:  I weigh myself everyday too (sometimes a few times a day *sigh*), but agree with Carrie.  If it stresses you out, don't do it daily.  It used to drive me up the wall to see the fluctuations, but now I just look at it like a way to re-evaluate what I did the day before (what I ate,how much alcohol I had Foot in mouth,  how much water I drank etc.)  It kinda helps keep my on track and even motivated I guess.  Anyway, don't make yourself nuts!

I'd forgotten how much logging in your calories helps to keep eating in check.  It's really helping me stay motivated, especially in the eating department.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Just a quick hello before the weekend!  I hope everyone has a great one!  It'll be a tough weekend for me as far as good eating goes. Lots of parties and dinners to go too, but I promise to do my best.  Saturday is my girlfriends bachelorette party so I'm excited.  A night out with the girls.  It's been a LONG time since I've been able to do that......woo hoo!!!

mmmm....smoothies...I think it's time to take the blender off the top shelf!!!  It's been blazing hot here!!!  HUMID!  It makes it so hard to get motivated to run outside, but I did it.  2.5 miles this morning, sweating my butt off.  It's always so fulfilling when it's over with!

csandridge:  Hi!  Your pics from your vacation are great!  I wish I was on vacation!

ssabourin:  Hi too!  NY marathon!  WOW!  You are my hero!  Smile  I'm in the no budge club too.  Well, except for this last month when I bidged the wrong way..up 4 lbs.  But I'm on my way back down.  I saw 129 at one point, but haven't been able to break that.  132 seems to be my comfortable weight.  Any less I really have to work harder at it?  Is there such a thing as a "comfortable" (for lack of a better word) weight?

margo:  I LOVE hummus...I usually eat it with whole wheat pita bread.  I toast the bread in the oven first.  YUMMY.. How do you usually eat your hummus?

Heather:  I'm scared of my workout ball.  Tried to do puchups on it once, and thought I was gonna break my neck!  haha...I'll have to work on that!

Yeay it's almost Friday!

Weigh In:

SW: 136.5

CW: 135.5

GW:125

Looks like the water weight is starting to come off....I ate well again all yesterday, then blew it a little after dinner.  I've figured out my main problem...my husband!!!!  He loves to have sweets after dinner.  I'm perfectly ok with having dinner and be done with it, but after about an hour sometimes sooner, he starts looking for goodies.  Hence the cookies on Monday.  Last night he dug out pilsbury biscuits and slathered them with butter and honey. (I only had 1, amazingly), then if that weren't enough, he made toast and slathered one piece with jelly and one with peanut butter.  I shared that with him as well.  He works in construction so is burning MAD calories all day, so these things don't make a difference forhim weight wise.  *sigh*.  All in all, I'd say I didn't do too badly, but could've exercised a little more self control.

Carrie: When my parents were visiting, Ted always asked me if I took my dad bike riding with me and the kids, but I never did...I think I was afraid he wouldn't like it or wouldn't be able to "handle" it!?!  Your mom doing yoga with you has given me the determination to include them in our outdoor activities next time they visit!

Rebekkah:  Cute story of you stopping to play with the neighborhood dogs!  I LOVE dogs too!  My dream home.....a dog farm....with tons of dogs...in a  perfect world, tons of dogs that don't poop.  haha.

Heather:  If you're an !!! addict, then my name is Anna and I'm an .....elipses(I believe that's the correct term for them) addict.   Laughing

Great weigh in Ladies!  Sounds like the motto for the week is to just keep "plugging along...."  Happy Wedenesday!

Rennai:  congrats on the house...AWESOME!

London: Hi! We just ate at a Moroccan restaurant here in town.  It's one of our faves.  mmmm.....just thinking of it makes my mouth water!  :0

Looks like everyone is getting ready to take trips, visit with relatives etc.  Hope you all have a great time!

As for me, yesterday the kids asked for McDonalds for lunch after the beach.  I almost gave in once I started thinking of having a delicious quarter pounder, but yeay me, I held strong and offered them a jamba juice instead, and made it home to eat my extra delicious tuna  on whole wheat bread sandwich.  Of course a quarter pounder wounda been so yummy, but the scale was happy this morning, so it was well worth the sacrifice.  Whew, getting back on track mentally is almost harder than getting back on track physically.

You ladies are the absolute BEST!  I am so glad I logged back in to CC.  You really are all really so motivational, which is exactly what I need.

Teana, my 6 yr old (7 next month....what?!?) is off from school today. "Waiver day."  Whatever. No offense to any teachers out there, but this year round schooling takes getting used to.  I don't remember getting waiver days when I was a kid.  Anyhow, I was gonna skip my workout for today, but as I read all your posts, and as I'm replying now, I think I can squeeze in a quick 20 min cardio in before hitting the beach with the kiddies.

Simi:  Hope your recital went well!  I took piano since I was 5-14, but haven't really played much since.  My daughter now wants to learn, and I'd like to be the one to teach her, but just don't know how or where to start.  Are there any "how to teach piano" books out there that you know about?  Camping sounds fun BTW....I hope to do that too one of these weekends...soon!

Shanti: Medical missions...awesome!  My parents move back to the Phillippines about 4 years ago, and she does medical missions for the people in the mountains there periodically.  We got to join her 1 year ago on one of her missions.  It was truly an eye opening experience.  Kudos to you!

Cricket:  Greece....I so want to go there too!

Well, Happy Monday everyone....I'm honestly not looking forward to Wednesdays weigh in (TTOM this week), but on the bright side, next weeks weigh in should be that much better right?  Goal for today:  Lots of water, clean eats.

Hi everyone....I'm back..but not very proud of myself...I'm weighing in at 135-137.  Boooo....  I don't know what happened...well, that's a lie, yes I do.  I was steadily maintaining at 132-133 for a LONG time, then my parents visited for a month.  We ate out ALOT.  At least 2-3X a week fast food for lunch, with at least one dinner party every weekend, and of course mom's home cookin' every night (portion control was no where to be found, since I get that only once a year).  BLAH!  So here I am again, back to counting calories and making my way back down to the under 130s.  It's so hard to not be disappointed in myself.  I'm hoping at least 3 of these extra pounds are from TTOM (next week).  Anyhoo, glad to see that most of the ladies on here are still the same, and looking forward to be motivated by you all once again. My goals: 125 by October 31st, no more sweets/chips/less alcohol/no more excessive eating at parties, keep working out at least 5X a week.  *sigh*

SW: 131.5

WOW!  I am shocked by all the action in here!  Lets see...

Rennai and Carrie (It's a little strange not calling you Simi): Before my hiatus, I was working out at least 5 days a week, alternating between cardio and weights (light weights I'm sure compared to some).  I have 2 kids (6 and 3) so needless to say, I am the workout video queen! haha.  I do Turbo Jam and Tae bo for cardio and the firm for weights, using 8-10 lb DBs.  Any advice on weight training routines I can do in the home?  I've also started running within the last year, and find that I enjoy that too.  I'm working my way up to 3-4 days working out a week.  I'm okay with where I am body wise. I guess I just want to be more toned (lose some on the flabby parts) and would like to shrink my waist back to 26-27"...right now I'm stuck at 28.5".  Is it possible to get back to a smaller waist after babies?  For all of you ladies still loving the "single life"  (pertaining to no kids yet) Enjoy this time...it's all yours!  Once kids come into the picture it is not longer all about you.  Don't get me wrong, I love my kids, and love being a mother, but there is barely any time to be selfish any more....only when my in laws take the kids over night.  :)

Oh yeah speaking of babies...Congrats Ingrid try not to stress out so much on the weight gain.  It has to happen....worry about it when it is all over (you have other things to worry about until then). You already know how to excersize and eat healthy, so I'm sure no have no problem bouncing back to pre-pregnancy weight once your new baby is here.  I'm so excited for you!

Anyhow, glad to be back you all are so motivating..I'm gonna go work out right now!

Hey ladies!!!  I have been MIA since Thanksgiving I think...sorry I haven't logging in!  Things just got so hectic with kids vacations, the hubby being out of work, etc etc.  Even my workouts have suffered...I haven't even worked out at all for the past 3 weeks!  But I'm BACK and ready to get my butt back in gear.  The good news is that I've been able to hold steady at 130-133.  Totally unbelievable considering the extreme lack of exercise and the constant holiday dinners.  PHEW!  Thank goodness it's over.  Back to ditching the goodies, high fiber, portion control, and literally sweating my ass off.  I notice there are a lot of new ladies here as well...YEAY!  And I'm glad to see that my old cc friends are still around too.  I'll have to backtrack and catch up with all your posts.  Anyhow!  Happy New year everyone!!!  Hope eveyone's holidays were great!

Hi everyone!  Happy Friday!  Didn't weigh in this week cause well, I forgot...anyhow, looks like everyone is still hangin in there...I have to confess that I'm guilty of "saving my calories" for the evenings.  I can relate to your friend, Simi, cause my husband gets home in the evenings and is starving from work all day and looks forward to "heavy" dinners.  I have found that when I try to limit my calories to 600-700 all day, I am absolutely ravenous by 4:00PM.  Not good since I then reach for almost anything and everything in the fridge.  So I've learned to either have light breakfast (cereal+fruit) then a higher protein lunch to hold me off till snack/dinner, or a high protein breakfast (Egg Sandwich) and a lighter, later lunch like a lean cuisine at around 1:00 PM.  *sigh....then of course portion control at night.  I have to admit that counting calories is mentally draining some days....some days I want to throw it all out the window and just eat what I want to, as much as I want to...then I think of all the hard work that I've put into getting healthy, and I remember how I felt when I was 20 lbs heavier and I then usually make smart choices.  Ah the woes of clean eating.....and wanting to fit into them jeans...

Hi guys!  Looks like everyone is still doing great.  Yeay us!

Simi-  I have just recently started feeling "rejuvenated" after a good run also.  Granted I only run about 2 miles.  But instead of feeling absolutely winded and constantly stopping myself from calling my husband to come pick me up, I actually am enjoying the run and can breathe normally while doing it.  It is absolutely amazing!  A year ago I could only go about 6 blocks before I would already be breathing hard and would have to walk before I passed out!  Anyway congratulations!  I can't believe how out of shape I was back then!

Hi guys!  Sorry I've been MIA too....I took the week off since my daughter had a week off from school.  So no workouts, but we did a lot of activities throughout the week.  Eating wise was a little slacking since we ate out more than usual.  I held steady at 132, then  I finally sent her back to school yesterday and did my first cardio/weight training video in 10 days.  I woke up this morning completely sore (where it hurts to sit on the toilet), but was ecstatic to see a happy 130.6.  YEAY!  I decided on a mini break today, my only workout was to jog the 1/2 mile to my daughters school in the AM then again in the PM. I hope I'm not this sore tomoroow...the funny thing is I kinda "like" the pain???  Anyhow, great work everyone...keep plugging away...especially since the holidays are closing on us quickly!!!

Hey Everyone!  I totally forgot to weigh in this week.  We've just been so busy, plus is TTOM, so if ya'll don't mind, I'll just save my weigh in till next week.  My parents have gone back home.  They left Wednesday.  I'm a sad of course to see them go, but happy that we have privacy again.  Having my parents here makes me feel like I'm 16 all over again.  I was so bad their last week here in the eating department.  my mom cooked all my favorites every night of the week, and of course I had to indulge since I won't be enjoying mom's cooking for at least another 8 months.  Ah well, back to working out and eating sensibly.

Congratulations Salsa!  I myself wasn't in the workout mode during my pregnancies, but my sis in law did ummm...what that workout in the gym with the stationary bikes, and the instructor is on a bike to and yells at everyone to go faster?!?  hehe..anyway, she did that till far into her pregnancy. I feel your pain coopeju.  Hang in there.  The closer we are to our goal the harder it is to get them numbers to move.  I've been at 130 FOREVER, yet my clothes are fitting much nicer then say 130 lbs. 2 months ago.  At this stage of the game, I think measurements are the way to go.  I think once you've hit or almost hit your goal, toning plays a major part.  Muscle starts to replace fat, hence the scale not really moving.  Anyhow, keep up the good work everyone!
