Oh, boy! I practically 'Dropped off the Face of the Planet,' didn't I? Had a VERY BUSY Day away from Home, and was up late as well-- now I'm VERY Sleepy, lol! Gotta' come check on everybody before I can crash though... Thanks, l2ride89!!! Bev always shared her Beloved Horses, if you were nearby-- but this one is very green and gave her some impressive bobo's recently! We were very Grateful they weren't both hurt seriously, after the horse tried to bite her foot, and hung the wide/very short stirrup around her lower jaw-- then went up, and over, for a hard landing... Had to actually remove the saddle to get the stirrup loose...! If she hadn't lunged her a while first, I fear the results would'a been MUCH worse! She needs a lot of calming...
*Stares in Awe at Roxiegirl's push up Totals... * *Wonders how do you spell quadruple...? * WOW!!! You've passed QUADRUPLE PUSH UPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT WORK!!!!!!!!!! Miles don't have a chance, either, lol!!! Go, Girl!!!!!!!

I sympathize, Foiegras!!!! It really hurt to be stopped by it as long as I was! Now I'm living with a heel spur, apparently, that hurts regularly, especially in the morning, or when I've been still a while-- Grrrrr! It's allowing me to walk now-- and I'm quite Grateful! Apparently heel spurs are actually common and un-felt-- and mine just wants to be worse. Seemingly, even then, surgery is rarely wanted, and certainly ain't something I could or would consider! So, I'm waiting for it to get better, with good Friends praying-- and that is why I believe it is behaving so that I can walk now! I was included with other prayer needs in a Fast day at Church recently, and it's been much better. It's now very slow for me to lose weight by diet alone, and hard to find any home-based exercise that really burns calories, without using my feet! My daily calorie burn has dropped to 1570, with 52 lbs. still to lose, unless I exercise. At 1200 calories, a measly 370 deficit a day won't accomplish much per week or month! I believe it must be especially difficult to be halted when you have such a wonderful hiking area to be missing! Hopefully it will be back to normal for you soon-- I can say that my left foot doesn't care at all anymore, lol! You're almost outta' Yoga and Strength Goals!!! What are you gonna' do with the rest of this month...?!? |

Ouch!!!! You did 80 push ups...?!? * Faints... * * Recovers to say-- Whoo Hoo! You're almost half-way on those Miles!!!!! * Celebrating!!!!! Just tallied my steps for November-- after 35,5?? yesterday-- and found I now have... 356,785 steps of my 500,000 step Goal!!! Gonna' be a busy day-- for our 30th Anniversary today, Hubby will be tearing up my sink counter to build it back with granite tiles at last! Might be too difficult to get much walking time, so I'm glad to see I'm already well ahead of schedule! GO, NOVEMBER CHALLENGERS!!! THE VICTORY RIBBONS WAIT FOR YOU!!! |

Busy, Busy Day...! 21,538 steps now, but want more for Today's Total. I'd passed 310,000 steps Saturday, so I'm over 330,000 by some unknown amount. Need to Total it up soon, lol! Let's see how everyone has done Today...
Pbear999-- Quite a Run yesterday!!! Good Job!!! Beam66-- I'd believe the pounds are the Big thing, too!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! That bike level sounds Mighty Grueling, too!!! I probably couldn't last 30 minutes at THAT level, lol!!! Nearly half of your push ups, too!!! Ranchobernardo-- 10.4 miles yesterday!!!! You and Pbear999 are Incredible!!! GOOD JOB on your 'Streak!'
GREAT WORK, l2ride89!!!!!! You're FLYING PAST your Goals in Super-Fast Speed!!!!!!!!
Cajunrider-- I studied till I found the Best deal for the price was the GoWear Fit Device, as it always included sleep efficiancy, while the BodyBugg didn't at first. It might now, I think the newest one does. However, they are both made by the same company, and are really the same-- but the one I chose was cheaper than the better-known BodyBugg that is seen on The Biggest Loser Contestants. I found a good feedback seller on Ebay and got a deal on the Device along with the really-needed Display watch. Then I joined the website for the first month free, and eventually went to the cheaper 1 year join up. It's not overly Fancy, but it's very good! Tomorrow they are upgrading the website to be extra nice, as they explained in an email, and I'm really looking forward to it-- it looked good in the pictures! To explain how it works, the website would be clearest-- and I can say it DOES work GREAT! It has taken all the guessing out of my planning and Success is matching what I'm learning from it... For clear calorie burn measuring, and step counting, it is really good. Especially by-the-minute gauging, as well as wide variety activities-- it doesn't care what you're doing-- it just keeps measuring your calorie burn, etc. Just what I needed for a real Life-Style companion-- judging my whole life and guiding me to what I need my the end of the day to meet my Goals! By the end of your hard-working days, you could know exactly where you are in your Goals-- no more trying to guess and worry you were under- or, over- estimating. It's very Motivating to see how much different things are adding up to, and-- shocking!-- how little some really tough stuff turned out to actually be! I was Truly WASTING my time! Now... I DON'T, lol!!! Hope that helps! I Truly am benefiting from it-- and am sooo Glad I was able to afford it! Keep the Trails Hot, Challengers-- we're passing the Center Line now!!! |

| Health & Support | what is underweight to you? | Nov 16 2009 15:02 (UTC) |

Selenaxoxo-- I think you had a good question! It has been a puzzle for me, too. If you can easily maintain on 2000 cals without extreme exercise, I'd think it was a natural weight level. (Barring illnesses that can create weight loss regardless of intake, and obvious boniness, etc.) In that case, if it was me, I'd concentrate on good nutrition and avoid weight loss for the sake of health. In times of sickness, being too slim can hinder recovery! My husband has been a naturally slim 155 at 6' for most of the past 30 years- and very strong. However, illness and cold affect him much harder than others, due to his low fat levels! Hope your question was answered enough! |

I see-- good point, Gi-Jane! Thanks. I just see the usually-used 20 BMI level as not enough to cover folks like me, who are quite curvy and not bony at lower levels than commonly accepted. All the Asian girls I know would be much smaller framed than me, too. In a college town, we have mixed Nationalities. 30 lbs. between 20-25 is about what the BMI charts DO list for me-- and I'm better a bit lower than their low. At 136~ I'll no longer be considered overweight-- but no one would know it. I'll look like 'I really need to lose some weight,' just not so badly, lol! My daughters at various style frames and heights are all very nice around 135-- while I am seriously overweight looking at 130! They are 1-4 inches taller, and curvy or slender build, yet much different from me. |

One thing annoys me with BMI charts-- NO correction for smaller OR larger frames... Herein lies a great difference in healthy weights. Seems that could be allowed for? Anyone remember the old guide-- 5' = 100 lbs. 1" = 5 lbs more. So my 5'2" = 110 lbs if I have a medium frame. Or, add 10% up if you were large framed? Or, reduce 10% down if you were small framed? As smaller than medium, but not as small as some, I found 5% a happy medium for my frame. It also looked ideal for me, when I was close to that weight-- still had stomach fat visible with only a couple lbs. above it. BMI would say I was 19.2 at that weight... but I did not look it. Why not allow for bone size in the BMI charts? I have no desire to be bony, and feel I'd be criticized as underweight when I'm aiming for a healthy weight, by those charts... |
