to motivate myself i just generally tell myself that i HAVE to do it! if i keep putting it off i will just keep on gaining and it will get even harder to reach the weight i want. i also keep myself distracted so to keep my mind off food, and do a set time to eat. just write up a list of things that you can do to keep busy. motivation is a hard thing. i think that is why im so much into exercise, because when i get started it keeps me motivated to keep going. saying to myself that im not doing so much exercise just so that i can eat junk. the exercise thing is kind of similar to me. i just feel like i dont really want them to see me exercise because i just feel a bit silly, but just think, while your exercising, your getting healthy, and while they can laugh at you, they wont when they start seeing the results, and then they will praise you, and tell you how good you are doing and how healthy your being. bekaleigh, i know what you mean by the stress eater. im a bit of a binge eater, and if i eat quite a lot, what most people may seem as perfectly normal, i seem to binge most of the time. |

im going to be 18 soon... november 5th. im 5'6-7... dont really know, and 152lbs today. i used to be higher, and only just restarted coming on here. the jellys are hartleys. you can get little tubs or orange and strawberry, or bigger tubs for just a few more, and flavours like mango and passion fruit. i always keep some because i go through days of eating tons, and its better to have loads of low cal things around me, and then days where i hardly eat. plus, jackattack07, where did we actually mention starving ourselves? i said to the point where people think im starving myself. but im not, and they only think that because iv had eating problems since i was like 10, going from anorexia, into recovery then into bing eating disorder. this time im trying to lose the weight, and get to a healthy weight, not below. i love exercising, even though im kinda lazy. thats the problem with me. food dosent bother me. people have forced me to eat before, and that bothered me a bit, but i couldnt get over the not being aloud to exercise. the rowing machine should be good exercise. that and walking should be good together. |

im 17, how old are u? ye, i think if you do it will work. even just walking can burn quite a few calories. just try to burn as many calories as you eat and you will lose, light or hard exercise. i generally just do a set amount of situps, pressups, leg lifts. i also walk quite a lot. if you dont like the thought of doing tons of exercise, split it into different times, like do 10 minuits every so often. i generally eat, and then dont eat again till i know iv burned my last lot off. try walking around more and standing, instead of sitting still all the time. i try to never stay still if i can. most low calorie foods are vegtables. like i heard somewhere quite a few are so low that it uses just as much to eat them as they contain, but i dont know if thats true. i keep a stash of low calorie jelly. they sell it in most shops, i get mine from tesco. 5 or less calories for a small tube, and it fills you up quite a bit. the lowest calorie fruit is oranges. just search around for low cal foods. weightwatches sell tins of soup for not that much. bloating is just when your body retains water because of salt, so it would just be water weight, but its still weight no matter how you see it |

i just generally want to be around 9st by 5th january when i go back to school. my account on here says that i will only get to it at 29th january, but im going to beat it! the fruit and vegetable thing im doing is pretty much just having meals with just them instead of adding anything else aswell. its great because their healthy, low calorie so you can have more than if you were sticking to a certain amount of calories of other things. youll need to lose around half a lb a day to get to that, so with exercise, and sticking to things with low salt content to cut down on bloating im sure you can do it. pluss if you cut down on the bloating, itll make you look like you lost more. it says that your only supposed to lose about 2lbs a week, but i can average around 4 on an ok week, more on better weeks, and you only need to lose just over 3 a week. get a good exercise program, it dosent have to be too much, i just generally exercise off the amount of calories i eat cos im too lazy to do more :), and also with the exercise itll help you tone up and look like youv lost more than if you just diet. |

i know exactly what you mean. i seem to eather be eating as much junk as possible or to the extremes where people think im practicly starving myself. im also similar in the way of trying out all different diets. like you said, you dont know if something works until you try, and it could be one of the ways youv lost weight!im on a fruit and veg diet only at the moment for the next couple of weeks ill help motivate you if you want. |
