| In my experience...broccoli, onions...lots of fiber in general. The only thing you can really do is take some beano before meals and as your body adjusts to eating more of these foods it will get better. | |||

| Ha ha. My kids actually like the fruit snacks and raisins. Guess they are odd? The even got juice boxes from a couple people last year and thought they were neat because it was something they don't get on a normal basis. Plus they needed something to wash down all that loot! I definitely think the pencils etc are good. Kids go crazy over those cheapo spider rings and stuff. | |||

| I picked up some ground turkey to use yesterday (your post made me hungry). Can't find any ground chicken at our store (we live on a base overseas but they may do it for me if I request -was in a hurry) so I figured turkey would be the closest thing. I do like the idea of grinding my own meat though. I am going to look into getting a grinder. Thanks for sharing your recipe. Making this tonight! | |||

| Trust me, if he hasn't seen your for 6 months you will look amazing to him no matter what! In all honesty there is no miracle excercise that is going to change you in any way in 5 days. I say continue with your normal workout, pamper yourself, (get your nails done, new outfit, etc) and get prepared to meet that boy of yours! | |||

| I have tried Claire's Chicken Mexicana recipe above. It is so simple and so good. And it smells amazing. I make 1 serving at a time for myself for lunch and have some steamed mixed veggies with it. Good stuff. | |||

| Yep, that's what I have now. It still seems really plain. I am spoiled and used to the supery buttery horrible for you stuff. Guess I'll just have to feed it to the kids and look for something else to snack on. Ah well. Was just hoping someone would have a good idea. I know a lot of you are super creative with food and come up with heavenly combos that I would never even dream of! | |||

| This is kinda gross but....my sister used to work at the Perdue turkey plant. She said big trucks used to come in and pick up all the liquid fat from the turkeys. She was curious about it and asked what they used it for. She was told that it was mainly used for making Oreo cookies! I have not touched one since and neither has my husband who absolutely loves the things! | |||

| Foods | sugar free marshmallows? | Jun 03 2007 22:25 (UTC) |

| I don't think they make sugar free ones but I could be wrong. A always thought that the sugar was what made a marshmallow a marshmallow. Not sure they *can* be made w/out sugar. | |||

| Progresso makes some really good low calorie soups. (just stay away from any creamy ones!) Yes, the sodium is a little high but I tend to balance it out with the rest of the day. I have tried a lot of different soups and to me these are the best tasting canned ones. They have some yummy veggie and chicken noodle soups and even a lentil one that is pretty good. | |||

| Thanks for the tips. I doubt they would go for the brocolli but I bet if I chopped some cauliflower up to the right size they wouldn't even notice it. Might just try that one out. Anything that gets them to eat more veggies is great.
I have gotten them to eat a healthier version of tacos made with ground turkey and la tortilla factory tortillas. Oddly enough they like the soft tortillas much better than hard shells anyway. Anyone else have any sneaky ways of getting veggies into a picky kids diet? |

| You guys have tons of good ideas. Thank you. I will definitely be adding some of these to my grocery list. I did okay with the sweets yesterday but ended up eating grilled cheese with my kids last night. :( But I only had one instead of my ususal two. So it's still an improvement I guess. My goal for the day is to look around for healthier versions of the foods I like so I don't feel like I have to go without. I have eaten badly for so long that I don't really know where to begin, lol. | |||
| Foods | Cheat days, Who does this and how does it work | May 20 2007 00:38 (UTC) |

| I don't know about everyone else but on my cheat days I will allow myself to eat my maintenance calories. For example, to lose weight this site tells me I need to ingest 1200 calories a day. But maybe once every couple of weeks I will allow myself a day of eating the 1700 calories that this site says is the amount I need to maintain my weight. That way I feel I am getting a little extra but I am not just eating anything and everything around me and actually gaining weight from it. Does that make sense? | |||
