I think you need to not only eat more, but also do some weight training. If you were previously starving yourself (I'm assuming that's how you got your metabolism so low), then your body most likely "ate away" a lot of your muscle. I'm no weight training expert, but I believe that you have to eat more calories then you burn in order to actually gain muscle.

Instead of trying to lose weight with such a slow metabolism, focus on raising your metabolism. Plus, a year and half is a long time. It could be higher by now?

Like everyone else is saying, if he is a nice guy, go for it. I am white and my husband is Mexican. We have been together since we were 15. I don't think my family ever disapproved of it? I know his family has always adored me. But I never saw him as "Mexican". He tells me that people give us dirty looks when we are out together, but honeslty I have never noticed. America is a melting pot, it's about time there be more inter-racial relationships!

guera-I see you are from LaCrosse! I'm from WI, too! Waukesha to be exact. So you get a lot of dirty looks up there? That sucks!! You should move down to Milwaukee. :)

loriklorik-LOL at the Shrek reference! It's true though!

It happened again, hun?! Didn't you learn from the first time? j/k :)

Ya know, I feel the need to stick up for my favorite fast food establishment! I LOVE Taco Bell, and around here, it has the best drive thru. They're super fast and don't mess up the order too much. I'm sorry yours sucks! :( I have found that McDonald's has the absolute WORST drive thru. >:P

Weight Loss any nursing moms and/or post partum moms out there Jun 29 2007

Hello! I am currently nursing my 11 month old son. It is true what you say, hlraphael, my body has held on to its weight while breastfeeding! It wasn't until he started to nurse less that the weight started to come off. I didn't gain much with him, only 25 pounds, but after I had him I gained another 5!! I ended up being about 165 at my highest weight in February '07. I am now at 143. I strap both my kids in a double stroller and walk them around. I try to walk as much as I can. It has helped so much! Plus, it's something I can easily do with the kids in tow. He should be done nursing soon, but I don't know if I want to stop completely yet. With my first, I started weaning him at 12 months. That is only one month away for #2!! :(

Aw, hun. Don't feel bad!! You are doing your body good! Just remember that.

But I must say, that is a very odd breakfast.

EDIT: I just read your previous posts. You're only 17, hun. You need to take care of yourself while you are still growing. And you're 5'1", so you can weigh up to around 130 pounds and still be healthy! I can't really judge you because I have never had to deal with an ED, but I feel so bad seeing someone struggle with one. Especially since, ya know, you can't really see it how it really is right now.

For what it's worth, http://www.newstarget.com/006016.html.

I started researching hoodia after reading fmjess's comments. I, myself, have never taken and would never take a drug of this type, but it shocked me to read your comments, fmjess. That hoodia is a hoax, but it seems to be true.  The site above says that the makers of Hoodia are "Cutting their bulk materials with silica, leaves, sawdust and other filler products that provide bulk, but no active ingredients". EW Sawdust?? What will that do to you??  I think it also said that the same company provides the whole hoodia supply and just runs under different names. Where did OP go? Hopefully she will read these posts!

All right. I'll join this.

22 year old female
5'2"
143.5 lbs
goal weight: 120 lbs.

I started on CC at 154.5 on May 12th, so I have already lost my first 10 :). Woohoo.  That calculates to just over 1.5 pounds per week.  I guess my next goal will be 133.5. I will still have to throw in my mini goal weight of 138 that I already made up a month ago. :)

Like some of you, I had a baby and am now trying to get rid of the extra weight! My son is 11 months, now though, so I really have no excuse lol. I have never had a problem with weight until after I had baby #2. This is the first time in my life where I have had to lose weight because I am actually overweight. It is very humbling, but also very rewarding as I watch the weight come off! I really didn't think I could do it (hence why it took 10 months for me to even start to try to lose the baby weight).

I was the same as you. I started out at 165 lbs. I got to 152 pretty easily, and got stuck for I think almost 2 weeks. Weird, huh? Just stick it out. Eventually the scale will budge again. That is all I did.

jrmint- low cal, high fiber foods=veggies! Tonight I looked at my analysis and noticed my fiber was under by 2 g, but my calories were almost past my goal. So I had 2 small carrots, and that gave me the 2 g I was missing! I think they came out to 30 cals. Salads are good too. Even lower in calories (the lettuce part). I ate a mcdonald's one today, and it said it was 5 g of fiber.
