Ummm, *ahem*.....a big 'ol corner brownie (Hershey's with the fudge and chocolate chips!) smeared with cream cheese and topped with a big ol' piece of fried bacon.....LOL

Do I regret  it? Nahhh, we were in the pool all day at our annual 4th of July party, so I'm sure it was burned off calorie wise, but it was SOOO good, I fight having them more often than once a year...LOL

And no, I wasn't pregnant, just under the influence of sun and lots of bourbon =)

You could always volunteer with your local big brothers/big sisters or boys club organization (or something similar) and be a "walker" that walks around trick or treating with groups of kids. We also have a lot of civic organizations and/or churches that have "trick or trunk" activities in large parks or parking lots for kids as an alternative to going house to house, and they ALWAYS need volunteers. And don't forget your local children's hospital! If you volunteer you can just tell "the girls" you had a prior commitment and that you'll miss them but to be careful and call you if they need a ride....easy peasy! LOL You don't have to dress up and you can enjoy the fun part of halloween!

Elijah Myles and Lucy Grace are two faves....

Though once, when I was dating a guy with a very european last name, Vivienne Grace and Vivienne Blair (Vivi for short) ran through my mind....

Naming them is the hardest part ;)

My power was out for two weeks after Katrina.....If a storm hits you hard enough to wipe your power out for any length of time, I can promise you that there will be plenty of opportunities to burn excessive amounts of calories due to the clean up and/or sweating you'll be doing....I ate like a linebacker and still lost weight because I worked so hard.

Brand new pair of abercrombie capris for my daughter and a "like new" LL Bean anorak (the classic!) for her school trip for less than 7 bucks total. She never thought the goodwill was cool until she realized that you could find "her brands" there...LOL

*I DID seek out a members only jacket while we were there which I fondly remember from my youth (mine was pink!)....I found one but it was yuck and had ciggy holes....surprisingly, my daughter actually liked it....said it looked "cool"....I wonder if it's genetic...LOL

Mobile AL here....

All "sodas" are referred to as coke....if I asked my girlfriends "Do any of y'all want a coke?" and they said yes, I'd immediately respond "What kind"

We use "kleenexes" for tears

Keep our coke in the "icebox" or "fridge"

Put our groceries in the "buggy" or "basket"

Make hummus from "chickpeas"

Sit on couches and loveseats

Eat breakfast, dinner and supper (the true test of being Southern...if you call the noon time meal "dinner")

Eat "ketchup" on our fries (not catsup or tomato sauce)

Use pampers on our babies (regardless of the actualy brand)

Use Qtips in our ears

And our biscuits are hot, fluffy and come with either gravy or butter/jelly/apple butter

I even ran four blocks in 4-inch heels the other night to make it on time to a ballet.

Come to think of it,.....I have absolutely no problem running in heels.....I didn't even think about that! Go figure!

Coming from someone who had to wear heels for several years for work.....they're cute and they make you feel tall and beautiful, but if you wear them for too long, they will mess up your legs and feet. I have tried to start running/jogging several times in the past year and every time, I end up unable to because of the leg pain...Only recently, my local running store expert asked "did you ever wear heels for a long period of time?"......and there ya go!

and long skinny toes and fingers.....

other than that, the only way I look OK naked is if I take out my contacts and squint REALLY hard when I look in the mirror....LOL

And I'm totally NOT a skinny young girl =)

I'm 27, about 70 or so pounds overweight and I'm a mom (STRETCHMARKS!!!!)

Ok, good....that means I'm not hallucinating and you're not either! I have been SO itchy!! Almost like it feels when you've gained a lot and your skin is tight, but my skin is not tight at all, so I was wondering what in the world was going on!!

maybe she just didn't want to put crappy food in her body? I'm nowhere near that small...actually I'm probably double her size weight-wise, and if somebody offered me chips, I'd turn them down too. for the sheer fact that they're not worth it...as far as her explaining WHY she turned them down, to each his own.....

I would have just said "Ma'am; I'm not sure why "they" gave you that number as I'm not familiar with it; However, I'd be more than happy to transfer you to XYZ who should be able to help you with your claim. Is that ok? Alright, hold while I transfer you..." If they don't answer or you get a busy signal, give her their direct number (with a name if at ALL possible) and then say "have a nice day!" and HANG UP. Don't let crazy strangers get to you!

The Lounge Ladies -- eyeliner question Mar 17 2008

Obviously there are people here who don't see the danger in getting makeup particles in their eyes. They have never had a problem lining the inner aspect of their eyes so they don't think it's harmful. To each his own....however, I worked in cosmetics for over 5 years and I've always been an avid makeup wearer and I can PERSONALLY tell you that a TINY TINY speck of mascara or eyeliner can cause a very painful corneal abrasion that can permanently scar your eye. You will also end up with makeup in your sinuses due to the natural flow of tears (yours will contain eyeliner) from your eyeball surface into your nasolacrimal duct....This may or may not cause you problems, but you should at least know the possibilities =)

I'm a FOOL for grits (I'm from Alabama!) but if it makes you feel any better, I hate the instant ones too! They have a funky taste! I was going to suggest cheese and jalapenos as an add-in, but I just read the lactose intolerant part of your post.....=( Use them as plant food? I dunno.....or mix in with dog or cat food to give them a treat?

I second the notion of getting them involved in the prep! I started doing this when my daughter was around 2 and now she's 11 and a really great cook! As she got older, and there were things I wanted her to try, I would just mention how great they were, how much I LOVED them and then say something along the lines of "gosh, I hate you don't like sushi...this is SOOO good!!"...the point is if you don't push them and they think it's their idea, they're a little more willing to experiment. And remember...little ones have more taste buds and a more acute sense of taste so if it's a stronger food or highly seasoned...they really may NOT be able to enjoy it!

Mayo in my lima beans......omg, so good

I think that there are probably PLENTY of foods I eat that most people would consider weird (I'm from South Alabama), but I'll save those for later and see what comes up on this thread...LOL

By the way, I used to eat potted meat on white bread when I was little =) So the mayo and potato chips doesn't sound weird at all!

Ps....I've got another trip to Mexico coming up in May...and I was thinking how it's so interesting that the people there look at me in a bikini like I DO look like a Victoria's Secret model while most people here think that they're fat and un-bikini worthy if they're over 130 pounds.....kinda makes my heart hurt for them!

237 pounds here.....I spend LITERALLY the entire summer on the water and I despise weird tan lines, so I wear a bikini with a bandeau top and I totally rock it! I may not look like a Victoria's secret model, but I don't look bad by ANY means! The right cut and fit in a bikini make all the difference! (self confidence doesn't hurt either!)
