Count me in!  I'm 41 years old and short (only 5'2").  My current weight is 120 and my goal weight is 105.  It will take me longer than 3 months probably but I'll just try my best.  I'm going to throw the almond roca and fudge my mother-in-law made in the freezer.  Have a great week!

#5 weighing in.  I weighted 111 this morning, so I am down 5 pounds already since when I signed up.  I think I was bloated from the holiday eating and thats gone, plus I was really watching it.  I did have short ribs tonight though as I made them for my husbands birthday.  They were soo good!  I didn't eat too much though just ate what I took really slow.  Good start everyone, its great to just start!  I'm looking forward to this!

jennymarie81, remember that your body will be ready to let go of some weight since you haven't lost anything lately.  Our bodies "freak out" I think a bit if you have been losing steadily for a long time, and you hit plateaus.  I was at almost 150 last year at this time so I was about like you (I'm 5'2" tall).  I'm 116 now, but up 5 pounds from my low of 111.

It sounds like all of us are ready to buckle down and get healthier!  Posting on one of these challenge boards was instrumental to me losing the 30-35 pounds I lost in 2007.  I started fresh yesterday after the holiday as I am ready for the loss to begin!!!  We can do it!!!

I'm up 5 pounds this month, with most of it in this last Christmas week.  And I'm sad too!  I have been maintaining steady at 111, but I'm up to 116 now and my jeans fit tighter.  I'm back logging calories today.  I had quit logging when I reached my goal weight after 9 or so long months of dieting!  I am determined to get the pounds off ASAP.  I walked for an hour today even though it was cold outside!  Don't give up, just start fresh right away, that's the most important thing!!!!!  If we don't get a handle on this, we will be sorry!!!!

Hello, finally checking in!  I got back from San Fran the day before yesterday and have been busy busy both at work and at home trying to catch up from being gone.  I shopped like a maniac last weekend in San Fran, and I am not exaggerating about the maniac part.  Practically from the time the stores opened until they closed.  I think I burned many calories those 3 days, lol!  I tried on a ton of jeans.  I had planned to reward myself for reaching my original goal weight with designer jeans and I bought 3 pair!  I felt compelled to try on so many as I was spending so much.  It was pretty darn fun and everything looks so great when you have lost weight, its a real danger to your wallet, lol.

I wasn't too worried about my weight as I ate great as soon as my husband left San Fran and I was left by myself for the weekend to shop.  Still, I was apprehensive for a weigh in after 12 days or so.  I tried to prepare myself to not get too depressed if I had gained a bit, and just keep with the program, lol.  Luckily I was down a pound to 114!  I did my whole regular exercise dvd (with my weights which I didn't take to SF) tonite after work and I feel great!  I'll catch up on posts tomorrow at work or this weekend.

Wow Wanda on the 4.4 pounds, that's a wonderful weight loss.  You must be so happy!  Sounds like you are in the weight loss zone!

I had a very good day with my calorie intake and my husband and I went for an 80 minute walk this evening in San Fran that included walking up a huge hill to coit tower.  My husband wasn't too happy about the idea of walking up the hill but he did it and was fine with it in the end.  I feel so good and I AM BACK ON TRACK!!!  I wanted to get that in writing, ha (that mexican food yesterday had me in the cheese overload dumps)!

I only drink maybe one diet soda a month.  Soda doesn't even quench my thirst anymore.  I can't even remember when I really gave it up, but it was when I started drinking 100 ounces of water most days.

Good job in avoiding the cookies with the stress of your car 5000thangel!

Hi, checking in from San Francisco.  We went to the mission district today and we ate Mexican food for lunch.  I ate until full (chicken taco and 1/2 of chicken enchilada, few bites chilie relano), but felt really full about 15 minutes later.  We walked for hours after that so maybe that helped.  I could and should have skipped dinner all together but had a cup of corn chowder soup.  I'm in on the resolution to do better this coming week!!!!  So count me in!!!!!  Lets do this!!!!!!  Sherry

Hi everyone,

We had a great weekend in San Francisco!  Weather has been great, sunny skies and not too hot or not too cold.  Went to the Farmers Market Sat morning and sampled fruit and a bit of homemade candy (not much!) so that was breakfast.  Had half of a yummy salmon BLT for lunch!  Had a little snack in the afternoon, but then walked for many hours in the afternoon (along the beach and part way across Golden Gate bridge).  Went to an Italian restaurant for dinner (yikes), but had the 40 clove garlic chicken and only ate half (did eat one bun, and some of the mashed potatoes).  I was trying to eat like a healthy, "normal" lady, ha!  It's hard to not know the calories after months of counting!  I tried my best to guess and came out to 1300, so who knows...

Today we went to the Haight/Ashbury area for brunch (just like you said you like to Laura!).  Really fun place, had scrambled eggs, half a bagel with some jelly, and some of the potatoes.  Walked in Golden Gate park for a few hours and had a healthy dinner at a Brazialian restaurant (fish, aragula salad, very small pot of beans, a few tortilla chips).  I estimate 1200 calories but again who knows - I hate this!  I feel very full after these meals since I'm used to eating more smaller meals throughout the day, but calories maybe okay.  I'm pretty scared and don't want to gain too much on this trip!  Aiming for maintaining.  Especially now that I'm finally 115 and feel so good about that.  Now that the weekend is over, I'm going to try extra hard on the healthy front (skip rolls, candy samples, tortilla chips).  Oh, I did my exercise dvd each morning without the weights portion so feel great about that!

Impedimenta, you are down a pound and a pound or two is all you can expect really in a week!  Just keep at your plan and don't be deterred for weeks at a time (put your food blinders on, take it a day at a time, exercise whenever you can, drink 100 oz water daily)!

Good luck Ann on weigh in, and getting over your bloating...

Sorry to hear you have a cold Laura!

Welcome, littlefish!  I feel for you with what you are going through since I have done this myself many times.  Its sad how fast a person can gain when you go crazy.  I'm hoping that this time its finally sunk in for me that I can still have great food, just not all in one day!  Just get back to it and you will feel so much better about yourself in a few days.  It will drop fast for you too at first I bet.

Balisima, I think you can look forward to a good weight drop with how good you have been!  It will happen!

Hi ladies,

I'm off to San Francisco for work, and will be there 11 nights so won't be back home until Tuesday Sep 25th.  My husband and I both work for the same company and he will be there with me for the first 6 nights.  But then I will have the second weekend for shopping by myself, which should be fun too.  Much better shopping in San Fran than in Montana where I live!

I'm taking my laptop so will be able to check in some, but I'm not taking my scale!  My husband also told me not to bring my dumbbell weights which makes me sad, but its crazy to have two 8 pound weights in your luggage.  I'm bringing exercise DVDs which I can play on my laptop and I plan to walk a lot.  I'm also bringing protein bars for breakfasts everyday.  Lunches and dinners are the great unknown!  Yikes, but I'm going to use shopping as a passion instead of food!  I really don't want to gain on this trip!!!!!!!

I weighed 115 today which was my original goal weight, but I don't mind losing more, like maybe to 112.

I also don't know about teas, but I did buy some green tea recently but haven't even made any yet.  I have also had some days this week where I have had to fight the aimless eating at work, think from anxiously trying to get things done before I leave for San Fran.  When I eat more during the day that leaves less calories for dinner, but I guess it works out okay as you are not as hungry at night due to the the day time eating!

Have a great weekend everyone!  Drink your water, eat small meals, have little healthy snacks, go for a walk/run/bike!  Sherry

Good job in starting training for the race Madhu, this could change your life in great ways!

Just keep going naija, your weight will drop.  Just keep thinking that the scale will show a bigger drop when your weight finally lets go!  Don't get sad and frustrated, get stubborn!  The weight has to go when you are doing what you have to do to lose it, its a scientific fact!

Welcome Wanda, and great job in keeping good snacks at work.  I have a whole slew of snacks at work for every mood, veggies, fruit, protein bars, dum dum suckers, sugar free popcycles.

Jess, great that the scale showed your weight back down.  The scale was up a pound today for me, but I know it will be back down tomorrow or within a few days.  Weight can vary a lot I think due to water retention etc, we can't let it get us off track!

Welcome impedimenta!  You (we) just post whenever to give and receive motivation and encouragement.

5000thangel, don't give up!!  You were starting a diet at a stressful time in your life with starting student teaching, so give yourself a break for last week.  You needed to get adjusted to your schedule and new duties, and its hard to have the energy to do that and start dieting at the same time.  It gets way easier as time goes on.  I think get into routines and plan your meals out.  Good luck!

Hi, I weighed 115 this morning, so I'm happy its really still there!  I have today off from work and I'm trying to do some house organization.  Its stressing me out and I was wanting to snack, especially dangerous as I was organizing in the kitchen.  I'm going to hang it up soon and go out for a walk.  Its too easy to drag too much junk out of cupboards and run out of steam half way through!

Sounds like everyone is having a good weigh-in!  Balisima, the dvd I do every other day is an oldie but goodie, Cindy Crawford The Next Challenge.  I love it, but I have been doing it off and on for years and I have it memorized so I can listen to other things like the news etc.

Oh and Ann, good luck with refocusing now that your in-laws are gone.  It sounds like you will do good with your good attitude.  I will be looking at runnersworld.com.  I think running is important for me in maintenance since you get a quick good workout, and I could even do it at my lunch break on days I work.

It sounds like you are doing good in transitioning to maintenance Laura.  I'm so glad I finally learned how to lose weight in a reasonable sustained way.  Ann is right that 1200-1600 calories is doable, so I plan to get right back to that if I see my weight go over my max weight range.  Sherry

Hi, Now that I'm finally 115, which was my original goal weight, I've been good all weekend with eating and excersizing to make sure it stays at 115 (or below).  After the elation, I didn't want to see it up!  I feel great and I haven't been at this weight since junior high or whenever it was...  I'm also very toned, with my stomach, really lower stomach, my only problem area.  I'm going to continue to 112 or maybe 110.  I want a weight range for maintenance and want 115 to be the absolute max of my range!

Balisima, you might not lose 2 pounds a week with what you're doing, but who knows as everyone is different.  I didn't lose 2 pounds a week until I ate about 1250 a day and walked 1 to 1.5 hours a day, and in addition doing an exercise dvd every other day (dvd is 20 min aerobic, 40 min weights & ab exercises).  You will still lose with what you're doing, just don't give up!  The most important thing I did to lose was to not give up.  Each day I tried hard (except when I was visiting family over the 4th of July, when I didn't try too hard!).

Hi, the scale said 115 (maybe 115.5, stupid dial scale) and I am soooo happy!!!  I had to get online enter it!  I just knew some weight had to drop.  I already went for a 50 minute walk/jog, I was so happy.  Wow Ann I cannot believe you can run 21 miles!

Welcome balisima!  I try not to eat back all my calories from exercising.  I'm too impatient to lose that slowly.  I think its pretty hard to get a deficiet for short people with not much to lose.  You need a 3500 deficient for 1 pound.  You only have 8 pounds to lose though!

Have a great day everyone!  Sherry

HI Ladies,

I had a really good day!  I was very active running/walking two different times (morning and evening) for a total of 1 hr 45 min.  Plus I did my exercise dvd which is 20 minutes of aerobics and 40 minutes of crunches, and weights for arms and chest.  I too am enjoying the cooler weather, and all this exercise kept me busy so it was very easy to meet my calorie target.  I guess not working just agrees with me, ha!  Good thing I only work 4 days a week now.  Plus I was ironing cloths and grocery shopping so I hardly sat down all day.  I'm don't know if you lose more when you sweat more, but it doesn't seem a person would except water.

I'm feeling refreshed dietwise and exercisewise.  I've been stalled in weightloss but I know that means I will soon drop some, so its all good.  Thanks Laura, we have come a long way!  It really hit me the other day how I dropped a lot of hard to lose pounds!  I'm definitely in the best shape of my life, and that feels great!

Great that you are in training for a 5k race Madhu!  I am also thinking of running more also, but I'm not pushing myself too much at this point.  I need to buy running shoes this weekend, and it seems like I need a stopwatch but I haven't read too much about how to learn to run yet.  Madhu, you might want to take a look at the "Learn to Run - who wants to do this with me" thread on the fitness forum of this website.  There is also a couch to 5K program, and I see there are threads on that also.  I would google "couch to 5K."  I need to do this also.  Good luck, you can do it!  Also for the calories for the food you eat, you could add up the raw ingredients for the dishes you make, and divide out the amount of it you ate.  Takeout food is hard to figure, unless the restaurant publishes it.  Any oil, butter is the most important thing to watch.

Have a great Saturday!!  Sherry

Jess, I think good things to buy are eggs/egg beaters, tuna, string cheese, frozen vegetables (especially peas), rice cakes, skinless/boneless chicken breasts (package into 5 oz portions or whatever and freeze), frozen fish filets, jam/jelly, yogurt, nuts, protein bars, cereal, canned soup, oatmeal...  I guess I think everything is pretty nonperishable except fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, and bread goes stale eventually!  I don't eat canned fruits or vegetables.  I have to have sugarfree popcycles on hand at all times!  I usually plan all dinners a week ahead (write it down and make a list of what you need) and go to the store once a week.  I eat repetitive breakfasts (Fiber One cereal or oatmeal), and repetitive lunches (for example, soup or wraps with veggies,   lunchmeat or sauteed ahead of time chicken with mustard and a bunch of lettuce on the side).

I accidently ate 1570 calories today!  I didn't calculate dinner calories ahead of time and it was too much.  I was aiming for 1400 or less for the day.  I'm kind of flipping out as my sedentary expenditure + my walking/running for the day is 1766, which leaves a deficiet of only 196 calories.  I was hoping for scale movement this week!  I am going to be good this weekend...

Welcome Naija, and good job on your weight loss to date!  You're getting close to your goal and I bet you need to just keep doing what you're doing.  I laughed out loud at your buttery flapjack obsession, don't know why it struck me as so funny.  I have had French toast a few times in this last month which is bread fried in egg with a bit of maple syrup or jam.

5000thangel, sorry you have been having a rough time being so busy and having kids fail their quiz!  Try to stock up on non-perishible good food when you next get to the store.  I have printed out some of the nutritional guides from websites of some fast food places and have them in my car for emergency reference.

Great job Laura in getting to 1/2 pound of your goal!!!  You are doing so good.  I feel like I'm on a "wedding cake" plateau!  I decided to not worry about going to 1400 calories if I'm hungry, and will see how that works out for me.  I have a 4 day weekend starting tomorrow and I seem to not be as hungry on non-work days so yea!  I went for a 20 min jog this morning before breakfast and could jog almost the whole time, so I think that's pretty good for me (a 40 year old who has never ran in her life before this last few weeks!).

Welcome Nikixx!  According to cdc.gov your minimum healthy weight is 98 pounds.

Keep with It, Sherry

Hello ladies, I'm doing better today with the cravings to eat, but must admit that I seem to be hungrier during the work day than I was in the past.  In the past, I used to have about 600 calories left for the evenings, but it looks like I will only have 450 for tonight if I stick to 1200.  I think I need to go up to 1400 calories on days I feel the need (i.e. exercise days when I am hungry!), and not feel guilty about it! It will probably even help to lose weight to eat a few more calories, I may be in the dreaded starvation mode!  I did my exercise dvd this morning.  Hey, maybe that is what is different, I have been exercising in the morning instead of after work, and that is making me more hungry during the day.

So I hear you Ann about fighting the urge to eat, eat, eat!  I think its extra hard to watch what you eat around other people when you are so near your goal.  The other people most likely don't understand why you are still watching.  Makes for uncomfortable situations.  Also the extra anxiousness over hosting visitors.  I think its important to calorie count for at least awhile in maintenance so you know your maintenance calories.

Yeah, I need to pull a Laura!  Good job on your morning run wantobehot!  I'm going for a walk tonight!  Housework and other chores are suffering a bit with all this exercise, lol!  Sherry

Hi,

Ann, 117 is a great weight for our height!  It also sounds like many people drop a bit more weight when they try to get the maintenance calories figured out.  So maybe if you go to maintenance now, further loss will happen only if its meant to be.

Congratulations Madhu on losing a pound!  Every pound counts a lot at our height and weight!

I had an exhausting day!  It started out great with a morning walk/jog for 45 minutes.  I went back to work after the long holiday weekend and felt kind of bored but not feeling like doing the work I had to do.  That made me anxious which made me eat a box of raisins (even though I had already had my between breakfast and lunch snack)!  Lunch didn't satisfy and I kept wanting to snack (which I did).  I finally ate a bowl of oatmeal after work which finally made me full, but I wished I wasn't full so I could have something good to eat for supper!  So nutty!  I ended up the day at 1400, but it was a struggle all day!  My body is maybe wanting calories.

I'm going to continue trying to jog during my walks.  I feel like running is something that will really help in maintenance for me.  I just feel a calling.  I live in cold Montana, so running I think will be better than walking for winter exercising also.  I also think I am going to continue to really ease into it and not pressure myself too much!  I want to like (love?!) it!

Hello,

I weigh 117 today, but it's sure leaning towards the 116 so I'm excited about that!  I don't have a digital scale.

I got back from the wedding yesterday.  It was fun, and I did pretty good, but did have about 4 drinks (malibu rum and diet coke), a smallish piece of cake, and a few sugar/butter mint things that were on the table.  I didn't have much of the dinner though as it wasn't all that tasty, so I decided to use my calories for drinks and cake.  The cake was very good!!  Overall for the day I don't think I went much over maintenance calories.

Everyone thought I looked great!  I few said I definitely didn't need to lose any more weight.  I still want to get to 112 or so.  My cousin's husband told my cousin, "There is a girl here that looks like your cousin Sherry, but she's way skinnier."  My cousin told her husband, "That would be Sherry."  So everyone was laughing about that.  I did grow out my hair lately and flat ironed it that night, and I don't think he had ever seen it straightened.

You runners are doing so great, and I cannot wrap my head around the distances you go!  During my hour long daily walks, I've lately been jogging about 1/3 to 1/2 of it, just because I can and to get a better work out quicker.  I think I am interested in running now.  I read a bit on the learn to run thread on this website.

Have a great week!  Sherry

Hi ladies,

I had one of those days when I was hungry all day and just couldn't seem to be satisfied.  I haven't had one of those for awhile!  Have had 1325 calories so not too bad.  I finally went for a half hour evening walk and drank a bunch of water when I got back.  So I finally feel better.  Need to just go to bed soon, I think I am tired from all this getting up early and exercising!~

The scale looked like 118 this morning (not 117 which I like better!).  I have hopes it will drop to 116 though soon.  Wishful thinking might work!

I need to get to the store also after I get back from this wedding.

Vicky, your workplace sounds scary!  I'm lucky that someone only very occasionally brings doughnuts.  I think Laura is right that you need to just bring your own snacks.  It will get easier to avert your eyes to the bad snacks after time.

Our costco serves one slice of pizza only, but they are very big pieces.  They aren't deep dish at least (not as deep as those pizza hut ones).  I would say 575 for the average cheese pizza slice I've had at Costco, but that's a wild guess!  At least you got that pizza crazing out of your system for awhile!

Keep at it, this calorie counting works, we just have to keep at it!   Sherry

Hi, my weight did drop back to 117 on Tuesday, undoing the slight damage I incurred with my family in town last weekend.  Ann, I'm sure your weight will drop soon likewise.  I am slightly disheartened that its so easy to gain a pound or two in just a few days even though you thought you were making good enough choices to at least maintain.  It has me anxious for upcoming "for real" maintenance!  I guess restaurant food probably has hidden calories and more extras than you realize, and we ate out every meal except breakfast.

Blackcrane, good realization about the candy.  Candy and ice cream can be killers.  A lot of people start with these treats and then work up to thinking they need them as desserts or snacks once a day or even more.  Ice cream is especially dangerous as its easy to put too much in a bowl.

Tasha, happy travels!  I travel a lot and often don't gain much at all because of all the walking you do when traveling.  Stay active and hydrated and don't go toooo crazy!

5000thangel, sorry to hear you are so tired.  You will probably get used to it and feel better soon.  Maybe get better shoes and switch them every other day or even halfway through the day.  You could try to work out in the morning.  Often times I have to eat a protein bar about an hour before work is over to give me energy to workout after work.  Maybe eat a snack in the car on your way home or to the gym.

I am going to a cousins out of town wedding Saturday and returning Sunday.  I'm going to really watch my calories Saturday and save them for the reception.  I hope to dance away any extra calories!  Sherry

PS I worked out in the morning again today!  I was 10 minutes late for work, but thats okay and the boss wasn't even there.

Hi,

Honeybeewu, it sounds like you have a great plan!  And you tried HIIT on your first day, that's impressive.  I read a bit about HIIT and it does sound like a timesaving workout.  I'll have to read up more and get up the nerve to try it someday, ha.  The timesavings is tempting.

Laura, I weigh myself everyday and plan (at this point anyway) to continue daily weighins into maintenance.  The scale does make you crazy but I think daily weighins have advantages for me.  There was a study that showed people who weigh daily maintain weight loss better.  It also sounds like water and retention of water (sodium) really affect weight on a given day.  Congrats on your top bike spead.  Maybe your snake ate your shuffle, ha?  I've actually walked so much that I've run across two snakes this summer and I haven't seen a snake since childhood (except in Bali which probably has lots of snakes)!  At least they weren't rattlers.  I love my ipod and its one of the great things I look forward to for workouts.

Ann, good luck with getting right back on track and sorry to hear about the stitches!

Blackcrane, great job on the measurements!  Nice not to lose your bust.

Welcome tabatha, and great job so far on the weight loss, 20 pounds gone!  I weigh 117 now and think I look athletic not scrawny, so build that muscle!

I woke up at 5am again today so went for an hour walk after some chores around the house waiting for the sun to come up!  Nice morning walk but I needed gloves, it was only about 52 degrees!  Had to jog a lot to stay warm.  Maybe I'm turning into a morning person.  Guess its about my bedtime now, ha (9:30pm).

Hi there,

I woke up at 5am and finally decided I wasn't going to get back to sleep so I got up and did my exercise DVD.  That is my first time doing it in the morning before work and it was really nice to do it in the cool temps (had windows open at night) and to get it out of the way!  I hope I can exercise in the morning more often, but I am a night owl.  I walked 40 minutes during my lunch and am going out for a 20 min or so walk right after I post this.

You can make it to 120 Madhu!  Burning calories through exercise has been key for us to lose.  Those calories burned all add up to make bigger deficiets between calories in and calories burned.  Drinking water is just as important I think.  Ok better get out there, it is getting dark earlier and earlier which is sad!

Hi Ladies, I weighed 118.5 this morning.  I don't have a digital scale and it looked right between 118 and 119, so I will go with 118.5!

I was down to 117 the day after our last competition ended, but the long weekend with my sister and her kids and my mother and neice apparently added a bit to by weight!  Oh well, I'm not giving up by a long shot.  They left Sunday, and I did really good today so I'm hoping the scale will be down soon.  I actually did quite well considering how many meals we ate out while shopping.  This is life and I cannot live in a bubble!

I also determined I am apparently too old for the water slides!  We took the kids to the slides and on the very first slide my arm bent back at a weird angle when I hit the water and it hurt.  I can still feel it a tiny bit sometimes but its way better.  I haven't done my exercise DVD since Friday because it has a ton of arm and chest weightlifting.  I'm going to resume tomorrow after work.

Congratualtions Ann on 117!  You are doing really good!  Congratulation 5000thangel on your milestone!  I want to eat when nervous also so that's great you are cleaning instead, great idea.  It does feel so good to be heading toward your goals.

Welcome Jackie!  Wantobehot, I do a bit of weightlifting at home with freeweights and want to invest in more of them and a weight bench also someday soon.  Welcome Madhu, I would up your exercise to maybe 45 minutes or an hour and carefully measure your food with a scale so you know the calories.  I walk an hour a day.

Good luck to everyone!  Just keep moving, keep drinking water, and don't give up!  Sherry

Welcome Blackcrane!  Great job at getting to the gym 5000thangel, oftentimes I have to psych myself up to workout, focusing on how great I feel afterwards!

I read on the maintaining forum a bit last night Laura.  One thing that seemed good was someone's suggestion to add 100 calories each week and monitor your weight to see how the added calories affect.  Then you know about what calories you need to not start gaining.  I might shoot for 112 then have a maintenance range of 112-116 or something.

My sister and her husband and three kids are coming tomorrow to stay at my house for the weekend for school shopping.  My Mom, Dad and neice are also coming but getting a hotel.  I'll have to focus on not getting derailed with them in town, they will want to eat out a lot.  My sister started exercising back in early July when she heard I was so she can go for walks with me.

Two people at work commented today that I have lost a lot of weight.  One of them started walking a few months back, and the other is talking about exercise.  Another lady at work has been eating Lean Cuisine dinners for lunch this week and was asking which ones are good.  I think that study a few weeks back about how your friends influence your weight had some merit.

Good luck with your personal trainer Ann!  My stomach is my only problem area now.  But I have been doing tons of crunches this whole time, its just that the last pounds I have to lose are all in my stomach.

I understand your muffin feelings Tasha.  I just had about 3 bites of my husband's ice cream.  Guess I'm practicing eating only a little of dangerous foods.  Sometimes I feel like its too much agony to taste, but on the other hand it teaches you moderation and restraint.  I guess that was my evening snack!  In maintenance while eating ice cream at home, I'm only eating it measured into a half cup serving.  Sherry

Congratulations Laura, the Biggest Loser!

Welcome diverbeth - it sounds like you are doing good with being over half way to your goal!  Yeah, it is a slow process to lose this weight, especially at our height and not being technically or that overweight.  We are so short that it doesn't take as many calories for our body to run, so its harder to get a deficiet I think for us.  I started walking more to get a bigger deficiet.  The most important thing is to keep going, week after week, it all adds up!

Hi picchick13, new jobs are stressful.  I'm not a morning person either, but I have high hopes that someday I will move my workouts to the morning instead of after work.  It wasn't too long ago that I was very slowly losing weight and didn't think I'd ever get below 120.  Then I must have got over my body's stubborness and the weight often dropped 2 pounds a week.  Just be stubborn and stick with it.

Good job with the grocery shopping and prepped food Lisa!  I need to get to the store myself, and add more veggies to my list.

Welcome Vanessa!  Your workouts sound great.  And you obviously know how to lose weight.  Maybe switch to bars that have protein like pria, luna etc.  They are sweet (I guess, ha) and you get used to them and like them (at least I do).  Then when you snack on your protein bar "sweets" you are getting something that will stick with you and make you feel full at least for awhile.  Clear out your weaknesses from your house and work!

Ann, I'm fine with not having prize money for this rounds competition.  I'm not sure how much more I want to lose before I go on maintenance.  My husband said last night that it looked like Ann Curry on Dateline (and the Today show) lost weight but he thought I was skinnier.  I can't believe I might me skinnier than Ann Curry!  Sherry
