I'm back on track!!! The last few days have been a nightmare of chips and pringles. :( My sister is getting married in 6 weeks, and I'm FINALLY fully committed to healthy eating. free_style: Are you referring to carbs in general? I've tried cutting back on processed carbs (last 2 days excluded) and haven't noticed much of a difference. I've been doing CC+ halfheartedly for a week now, and I've lost only 1 lb. Better than nothing though. |

Does stopping by Kent for a visit count? How about knowing where Kent is located?? :) Good luck with your weight loss. CC+ is a great resource for weight loss and there are lots of friendly people on the forums willing to motivate and share words of dieting wisdom.

As far as I know, the food and activity logs cannot be viewed by friends. I may start posting my food and activity log as a journal entry. That way I'm welcome to constructive feedback. I haven't done 2 well these past 2 days, but hope to get back on track tomorrow. |

Wow!!! You're going to walk... and walk... and walk. Those Brits walk quickly too. The last time I went to London, I rented a furnished flat for a week and purchased food from Tesco. Just a word of advice: if you have the time, buy your underground passes before you leave. It's so much cheaper to buy them here than it is to buy a single ticket over there.

I think I enjoy smooshing them between my fingers more than eating them. I remember pink and yellow circus peanuts too... I wonder if those were banana flavored too? |

In the hospital, they often give people warm chicken broth. That will get things moving along pretty quickly. |

stephb: I'm so sorry you have to go back so soon!!! I hope your school year goes well, the same goes to all other CC educators too. I love/dread the start of the school year, but I still feel like it's a chance to start over. In the next few days, I'm going to spend some time thinking about what I can take for lunch (keeping in mind that I often don't have access to a refrigerator or microwave and need high volume) and some healthy snack choices.

I'm 33, female, with 2 cats. I work in schools with special needs students. I'm looking to lose A LOT (approx 60 lbs). Eating/cooking has always been something to do. I've been using CC for nearly a week and tagging foods or putting together meals has been an interesting replacement. I don't exercise nearly enough, but I've been trying to get some additional activity in my daily routine. I look forward to providing support and hearing how others are doing in achieving their goals. Good luck!! laurme (Laura) |

rmaddon, Please don't let your concerns about your weight ruin this opportunity of a lifetime. I let my weight keep me from embracing many opportunities in my life- and I wasn't as heavy as I am now!!! You're going to find that eating and daily activities are completely different in Europe as they are here. Just stay away from the American chain restaurants... the food tastes just the same! Have a WONDERFUL time. I'm completely jealous!!! |

edunph: I'm completely jealous of your running ability!!! My goal for today: to treat myself kindly. I started using CC+ last Wednesday and keeping creating a 500-700 calorie deficit and haven't seen a change on the scale, but I can tell that my stomach is smaller. YAY!!! My eating didn't go as well as I'd have hoped for today, but I spent a huge portion of the day at the hospital with my dad. A 2 hour procedure took 4 hours to complete and by the time that was done, I came home and made a pretty unhealthy dinner. It's going to happen from time to time, right??? I'm inspired by everyone's success. I'm also going to log a few miles on the treadmill. Have a wonderful night. |

I'm an OT working in a school-based setting. Does that count??? I find it nearly impossible to eat properly at work. I cover 8-10 buildings a week, so I find that I often eat in my car between buildings. Enjoy your remaining summer break!!! |

I've done WW several times. I'm an online member now, and intend to cancel my membership as soon as possible. It's expensive, it's time consuming, and not as easy as calorie count. The one and only thing I liked was the accountability of stepping on a scale each week.

Prednisone is the worst. My mother was on it for YEARS to treat her MS. She's been off of it for a while, and has lost a significant amount of weight from just watching what she ate. Does the duration or intensity affect you more? You mentioned walking, but what about using a stationary bike set at a low tension?

I thought the same thing about stabilizers! Either way, good for you for going without them. Just remember to get the petal high on your dominant side and push off from there. Olivia: Good luck! Get a bike! There are lots of new granny bikes out there. I'm thinking about trading in for a new one myself. Don't forget your helmets!! |

I would LOVE to start a business to teach bike riding skills! Try hitting a trail- or (if possible) a big parking lot during non-peak hours to become comfortable with stopping, starting, turning. Try cycling gloves, and see if you can adjust the angle of the front bars. Being able to sit up straighter will help with all of the pressure over your arms/hands. Good luck!!! |

I wasn't sure about the flavor either, but I got some extra information on wikipedia. It's just like eating flavored foam packing. |

Circus peanuts!!!! They tasted okay but smelled soooooo goood. I wonder if demeter makes a perfume based on the scent. Wistfulxthinking, circus peanuts are a banana flavored marshmallow candy. They're orange and about 2 inches long. They're not a squishy as a regular marshmallow but harder. |

I always start with a lettuce base and add whatever I have around the house. Some of my favorite salad items include dried cranerries, low fat feta cheese, light tuna salad/mock tuna salad, almond slivers, black beans, mango salsa, grilled chicken, or veggie burgers (the kind from Costco refrigerated case are my favorite). I don't use dressing because I get enough flavor from the variety of toppings I add. |

You must speak with your physician and physical therapist before you attempt to do anything that could potentilly cause further injury. Once you get the weight bearing restriction lifted, I'm sure you'll have several physical therapy sessions that will address range of motion and strengthening. |

I love kids. I work with kids!!! Taking care of 2 cats, a disabled mother, and a father with cancer is enough for me. After months of paying for another online diet plan, I (re)discovered this site 3 days ago. I love it. It makes so much sense to see the numbers in front of me. I'm 33, single, and looking to reclaim my life! I've been on the heavier side my whole life. There was always a reason to put off taking care of myself (work, school, care taking responsibilities) and my responsibilities were a good excuse to stop living my life. The pounds have been creeping up for a long time. I currently weigh 207, and hope to reach my goal weight of 145 someday.

I put the sandwich directly on my foreman grill and load it up with lots of veggies. Sometimes I'll put a cooked egg white and turkey bacon in the sandwich when I've got the calories to spare. |
