| Athena, i was not personally attacking you.
I was referring to other sarcastic flare ups about him being more worried about her getting to a size 8 bla bla bla. He didnt say she was a hermit, that is a word i used, why, Because i read that she has no interested in doing any activities. staying home, does not go shopping, he does all the household activities, thus the usage of the word hermit. no he didnt say they were not interested in eachother, however when your sex life suffers, what else does it mean? He obviously loves her, but losing sexual interest is the only other option. Sorry, i read between the lines. I have had pretty much the same issues in my life as he has. So maybe i mumbled mine up with it. My wife gained mucho weight before i ever did. She gained alot of weight 5yrs before my injuries which induced mine. I had those very feelings when that happened.. Look at me now, maybe i deserved it. I would'nt tell her she is overweight either, i agree with you on that.. Get a Scale bud, start losing weight on your own. She may be inspired to do the same. Again, my wife sure did. |

| Athena, yes i understand that, but my perception of what he said may be different than yours. I know by reading what he had posted as to be a fault in my own life and understand very well where he is coming from. However there is really no case to bash him unless he flat out said she is big and nasty and i dont wanna be with her anymore, then i would bash him myself. He came in as true and honest as he could be. He needs help just like we all do. Pointing it out and making him look like an womanizing beast are 2 different things. When i read that, i took it as his sex drive has suffered, as in they are losing interest in eachother that way or she lacks the drive due to her bigger weight issues. You can love your spouse and not be sexually active/interested all the time. As for excusing his weight issues, 185lbs is nothing to scoff at. He can lose his easier, he mainly worried about his wife who has basically become a hermit, as i once was due to my issues. Things do not always come out as we mean them and have to occassionally read between the lines. I just dont like the bashing thing. Bashing is what causes problems. Makes people down on themselves. Why try to hurt someone by saying they do not love the person they are asking help for, when they came here asking for help for that person, let it be a size 8 or a size 20, he was giving us a detail of what size she used to be. My wife was a size 3 when i met her she is now a size 16, would i like for her to be a size 3 again, yes, as im sure she wishes i was a size 33 again. it works both ways. If she never makes it down to a size 3 i will love her unconditionally anyway. She gave birth to my 2 children that is the commitment she has shown me, and that my friends is worth more than money can buy regardless of what she looks like, but i will help her get into a healthier lifestyle. |

| Girls, do you see where he says he is not interested in his wife? Not sure whats going through your heads, but i see a man who wants to be with his wife, yet she doesnt have the drive. Did he say he was going to leave her? No, I see him worried about thier future due to this. I for one know the problems women go through in weight gain by knowing my wife.. We have not been together for nearly a yr, until recently why? She is self concious no matter what i tell her.. Since she has been losing weight, yes frisky, alot more than before.. Do i desire to be with her, yes i do. Whats wrong with that? Quit attacking people because they desire to be with thier once thinner wives. What the hell is wrong with that.. My wife even told me she wished i was thinner like i used to be, and the same for her when she speaks of it.. it makes it so incredibly hard to be together when two bellies get in the way, smashing eachother, who wants to be restricted to one position? The guy has his wants and needs just like you do. Do not condemn him for them, but help him along his way to help himself and his wife. This is a help site, not a bash site and it sickens me. |

| Buy a new weight scale, start losing weight on your own, and maybe this will inspire her to go along with you on it.. Give her a reason to do it. This is how i got my wife to lose weight without telling her she needed to. She is learning from me and im learning from this site. | |||

| yes there is supposed to be a filter in the soda machine, the company that tends to the equipment on the soda machine should have it changed on a regular basis. Water filters should also be checked throughout the building on a regular basis aswell if the business you work at has a water filter. Most restraunt/inns here do have them. | |||

| Are you drinking city tap water? I had the same problems when i moved from the country to the city. In the country we have well water and its alot better tasting than city water. City water i think here anyway has chlorine in it, and it did irritate my throat so we started buying bottled water from the store, can get 2 gallon jugs of it. Thank god we got our house fixed and moved back in to it. | |||

| I think the laxative they give you is Magnesium Citrate, the local drug stores sell it in different flavors and man that stuff is salty, however we take that stuff every now and then to help flush our system out cause it is super strong. When you take it, dont leave the toilet though. | |||

| Weight Loss | Muscle weighs more than fat myth. | Jun 25 2007 01:40 (UTC) |

| 8. One pound of muscle and one pound of fat are the same size. FALSE!
If I place one pound of muscle on a scale and one pound of fat on a scale, they will both weigh 1 pound. The difference is in total volume. One pound of muscle may appear to be the size of baseball; 1 pound of fat will be three times the size and look like a squiggly bowl of Jell-O.

| hehe, well i dont wanna gain wait, im losing weight. Im 303lbs down from 310, I have a deficit between 1000-1300, eating 1500+ net calories a day never going over 1800 cals a day. I do all upper body weight lifting, and ride a recumbant cycle round 35 mins in the morning 6 days a week. I was formerly in starvation mode, but didnt look like i was starving was only eating 500-1000 calories a day not loseing a lb nor gaining. I finally broke free of it lil over 2 weeks ago and upped my cals gradually. I used to weigh 175-180 lbs and was built, i was never obese so this is a new run for me. Trying to get my old self back. *edit* Rephrasing the workout, i do upper body weight lifting every other day and ride recumbant cycle bout 35 mins a day 7 miles 6 days a week. |

| Ive seen posts where it has took up to 3 months for people to start seeing loss, myself it took me about a month, found out i was eating too little calories for yrs and neither gained nor lost weight. When i found this site and seen i needed over 1500 calories a day took me a month of eating 1500-1800 calories with some exercise to see a 3lbs loss, as of today i have lost a total of 7lbs in the past 2 weeks since i broke starvation mode! Good luck and keep at it to whoever is in the same process, its a struggle and disheartening at times but it will come. | |||

| There is a such thing as a high metabolism, 2 people that live near me actually have to eat alot to keep from wasting away. Seriously, one girl who was obese her thyroids were damaged which made her metabolism out of whack thus she got tiney too quick and had to eat huge amounts of peanut butter sandwhiches a day dr prescribed to stay above 80 lbs.
A boy that used to work under me had to eat 4000+ calories a day and take meds because he was born with a medical condition that caused his metabolism to be very high and out of whack. So there is a such thing as a high metabolism. |

| Im honestly thinking about moving myself.. These docks down here are quacks, im serious. My wife went to the ER cause she couldnt walk for a bad kidney infection, the doc gave her a pain shot, then turned around and prescribed her 60 mgs of Turidol, we go to the pharmacist thinking yeah maybe this will atleast ease her pain till we can find another dr., well the pharmacist says sir, we think the dr made a mistake with the dosage, i said why, she goes on to say he prescribed your wife a lethal dose of the drug, he shoulda only prescribed her 6-10 mgs instead.. So things here in Ky may not work like they do elsewhere.. Its nutts here.. Well atleast where i live anyway. | |||

| To be honest im not sure, im guessing through his urine, we had to do urine tests before we could go on through. And its yrs rather than months for the tattoos, Aids wise.. That is what the person at the desk told me anyway, i think we were doing plasma rather than just blood, not sure was the first time i ever went in to do it. | |||

| Hey, big difference there.. I remember when i went in for a thyroid test, nurse was digging in my arm like it was a thanksgiving turkey, lol... She had to call a skilled nurse to finish it cause i was going off.. I have thick viens and can be seen easy, no clue why she kept going under my vein/artery and pushing upward with the needle.. But i was definatly going off seeing it LOL.. | |||

| My brother in law and myself went to give blood last yr, they denied him because he had too much protein in his blood, and i was denied because i had a Tattoo that was under so many yrs old, forgot how hold it needed to be.. Odd, but never knew they would reject people for giving blood. Good reasons though. | |||

| Hello and welcome to CC, yes i have over 70lbs to lose, actually 134 lbs to lose lol.. Yes a whole other person, sadly.
I have some spinal issues and found a good way to exercise. I use a recumbant bike cause it has good back support. I am now up to 7 miles a day on it and 32 mins burning around 300 calories a day. I started out 5 mins a day and about a 1 mile, i gradually worked my way up to the time, cals, and speed im going at now. it makes a world a difference for my back rather than running jarring the heck out of it.! Good luck to you! |

| Weight Loss | Can you actually drink too much water? | Jun 20 2007 02:08 (UTC) |
18 |
| Yes, it can happen and can even lead to death. Recently a woman who was at a contest held by a radio station in a water drinking contest to win a game for kids, a nurse even told the station that it could happen. Needless to say the woman died from drinking too much water, it can lead to Water Intoxication & Hyponatremia.. | |||
