| I actually just joined the Y so I don't really know any exercises. If you want a cheap solution you could always get some books and videos out from the library. You can also research on the internet, just make sure the sites are from a reliable source. If you want something more you can always do a trial session at a gym. Some of them offer a 7-Day trial with little to no cost. In that time frame yo can always ask for the moderators advice. |

| I can't imagine any exercise really being a waste so never think that way. You should be proud that you're taking the necessary steps to making yourself feel better, but I can see how you would feel defeated at this point in time. I would give it more time. If you still aren't convinced maybe pay for a session with a female personal trainer that works at your gym. She should be able to tell you what you should be doing, and to what extent. I hope that helps. Keep at it. |

| I always find this tough because I'm constantly going out with my friends. If I can't find anything directly on the menu that seems low fat/calories I do my best to make it that way. I always tell my server that I'm watching my weight and would like to make my meal less fattening by reducing the amount of oil my meal is cooked in, and getting all my sauces on the side. If I order a salad to start I get the dressing on the side in a little cup so that I can have some control over what I eat. If I order any drinks ie rum and coke, I ask for diet coke. |

I think it's the new program I can post their criteria... 1) Are you... Female........ Score 2 Male............ Score 8 Nursing....... Score 12 2) How old are you? 17-26........ Score 4 27-37........ Score 3 38-47........ Score 2 48-48........ Score 1 Over 58..... Score 0 3)What do you weight? Enter the first 2 digits 4) How tall are you? Under 5'1"........ Score 0 5'1"-5'10"......... Score 1 Over 5'10"........ Score 2 5) Do you spend most of your day... Sitting down......................................... ................ Score 0 Occasionally sitting, but mainly standing................ Score 2 Walking most of the time...................................... Score 4 Doing physically hard work most of the time.......... Score 6 Retake this quiz as your weight goes down, as your age changes, and if you change the way you spend your day The days that I work I take into account for the work I do, on my days off I subtract the extra work points so that I don't risk gaining. |

| I'm just starting week 3. In the weekly points calculations it takes jobs into account. So I can't just eat more, however I can use all of my extra weekly points. Is that a better alternative then not really using them? |

| They are based on calories, fat, and fibre. As a general rule of thumb 1 point=50 calories give or take The higher the fat content the higher the points value, whereas the lower the fat content the lower the points value. So just because a food is 50 calories, it doesn't always been it's worth a point. Fat plays a huge part. |

| I also consume all of my daily points values and use the odd weekly extra points here and there as the program suggests. |

| I'm not working out, however I work 3 part time jobs (University student) and 2 require physical labor. Not over exerting myself, but they require lifting 30-50 pounds frequently for 4 hours. My other job, hostess, allows me to walk for the entire shift which ranges anywhere from 3 to 9 hours. | |||
| Weight Loss | smark snacks, do they exist? | Jun 04 2007 22:13 (UTC) |

| I haven't really explored the options available to me. As of yet I have allowed myself one of those skinny cow fudge bars on the Sunday of every week, but other than that I feel really guilty. I think that's what bothers me about snacking is the guilt after, even if it fits into my daily points. I try to stay away from using my weekly points, as I feel guilty for using them. It's especially hard to keep track of my points when I'm in a snacking mood, which is why I was only eating carrots and such. I really appreciate the input. Thank you. |

| I kind of have a morning routine of cereal ( a choice of Kashi Go Lean, Corn flakes, Special K, or Raisin Bran) with skim milk and a banana. Sometimes I have a bowl of instant oatmeal with a teaspoon of brown sugar and cinnamon with half a sliced apple. Other than that don't eat fruit. I'm not a huge fruit fan. I've never liked strawberries or cherries or blueberries... any kind of berry. Fruit has never really been high on my list of favourites. |

| I'm not doing the meetings. My aunt used to go, and for her they were a waste of money. She gave me all of her material however and I am following the program with my boyfriend. When you mention the plateau, do you know how it happens, and how it can be avoided? |

| Do you possibly know when the loss of water weight will stop and the actual at loss will start or will it always be a mix of both? P.S. Thanks you the support. |
