Pregnancy & Parenting I think i might be pg and have some questions...HELP!! Nov 06 2009
16:01 (UTC)

Well i wasn't planning on getting pregnant just yet.  I really wanted to lose at least 50lbs before trying but i would love for it to be positive!!!! I've wanted a baby for the last 3 years.  I'll be honest....it's all i think about.  I haven't taken another test since the last one.  I wanted to give it another week or 2 to see if my period comes.  But as of right now nothing...and i've been reading that when you are PG your stomach can feel kind of bloated and i can tell you I DO....the jeans i have on today are always loose.  And i've lost 15 lbs recently so they shouldn't feel tight but they kind of do and did last week too.  Today is worse.  They aren't tight tight but when you sit its very uncomfortable.  Does that make sense??  And my breast are sore...it sounds funny but they feel like they are growing LOL.  I'm trying to wait til late next week to take another test but it's getting harder and harder.  I just really want to know.  But i decided since i dont know i was going to take prenatal vitamins anyway.  I was reading different things online and everything says it's a good idea.  So i figured i should.  Plus the extra vitamins are good for me anyway.

Well i took the test and it came back negative.  Still not sure...i have no more pains.  Really not sure what that was about. But still having all the rest of the symptoms.  Plus i started breaking out on my face which i saw was another symptom.  And my breasts are sore and sometimes tender...but not all the time.  I figure i'm going to wait another week or 2 and if i still don't get my period i'm going to test again.  If it's still negative then i'm going to make an appt to see what's up.  I just hate waiting....it starts to make me crazy and i obsess over it :o)  I believe it would either be  6 or 7 weeks since i've had my period last.  I've never been that off...maybe a few days but not weeks.  I can't remember if i had it the 15th of september or the 22nd of september which is why i'm not sure if i'm 6 or 7 weeks past.    I just really want to know and soon

Thanks...i would have never even thought about it.  But i started thinking about the last time i had my period and i swear it started about sept 22nd.  In 15 years i have never been late...EVER!!! so this seems a little weird to me.  I drink the same amount of water i ususally do but for the last week or so i feel like every hour i'm going.

irishmum i've had infections before and i remember having the feeling like i had to go but never actually "going".  This time i actually have to go each time.  I did think about that too.  I figure i'm going to get a test and if it's negative then i'll call the Dr. to see if i have an infection

The "pains" aren't all the time.  They just started 3 days ago and don't last all day or anything.  They just start up randomly.  I just don't remember really having any symptoms the last time i was PG (but that was 14 years ago).  The only symptom i had was actual vomiting but i was like 2 months before that happened.  But really no other symptoms.

There's been a couple times in the last 2 weeks i thought i was getting my period.  You know, feeling cramps which i ususally get a day before i start, but then nothing.  It's happened a couple times.

I love the frozen fruit.  I've recently bought frozen rasberries and blueberries.  It started because i got tired of buying fresh and then within a few days they all went bad.  I like to have some low fat vanilla yogurt and frozen rasberries in the morning.  So good and not too high on calories.

Weight Loss Using packaged meals for portion control? Apr 28 2009

These are really great ideas.  I have a problem with portion control but am getting a lot better.  I try to stay away from the prepackaged stuff too.  I tend to make my own lunches and always make sure to include veges.  Dinner is my worst meal too in regards to portion control.  Most of the meals i make are pretty healthy so i try to have a small portion of the main dish and then have more veges/salad.  Seems to be working for me

Good Morning All.  So i didn't get to exercise yesterday, last night was so crazy i didn't even get 20 minutes to my self.  I plan to exercise tonight and take the dogs for a walk.

Today is my weigh in for the week ( i might do 2 a week - one on the weekend) and i lost 2 lbs.  I know it's not much and is probably water but YAY ME!!!  I think what i'm doing right now is definitely helping.  I've been getting all my water in everyday and being very conscious of what i'm eating.

So i finally workout....first time in a long time.  I did cardio for 30 minutes and then took my dogs for a walk which for about 20 minutes.  I felt so good about myself yesterday.  I going to try and find time to work out tonight but i'm not sure how well that will work.  We have places to be tonight but i will definitely try.

I did really good yesterday with both water and food.  I had absolutely no slip ups.  YAY!!!

Susan I'm sorry about your mom.  I hope everything goes ok.  I hope you feel better too.

I did ok last week.  I definitely got all my water in and was pretty good with food.  I had a few slip ups but i know that was due to that TOTM cravings.  I didn't do any actual exercising last week but did plenty of yardwork.  We were outside about 3 days last week doing an hour and 1/2 each day of yardwork.  So i think i can count that as exercise!?!?!?!

I hope everyone is doing great and accomplishing their goals. I going to be very conscious now of my eating and working out.  I really need to kick it in gear.  I think working in the yard kind of helped me get a little more motivated.  I was honestly less lazy last week and over the weekend.  I definitely need to keep this up.  I plan on going home and working out - then taking the dogs for a walk.

Hi Everyone... Here are my 12 week goals

1. Drink a minimum of 64 oz of water daily

2. Exercise at least 3x per week for 30 minutes per day.

Sara, i hope that's what your looking for.  Hopefully i will be able to exceed my goals but i think going for exercising at least 3x per week works right now.  I'm hoping by the end of the 12 weeks i can say i've done alot better.

Hello Everyone!  I hope you all are having a great week

I've been doing good with my water intake so far.  That was my first goal to hit.  Starting next week i am adding in some exercise.  I plan to workout at least 3x per week for 30 minutes a day.  I'm going to try and add different things each week to help get me going again instead of trying to start everything at once.  Hopefully this will help.

I will start thinking of what my 12 week goals will be so i can post them next week.

Hi Everyone....just checking in.  So i finially weighed myself after a month and i completely depressed.  I gained 6lbs!?!?!?!  I know i had a few slip ups but come on...6lbs???  I am so down on myself right now about this.  But i'm not going to let it ruin anything.  I just know that i really need to try harder. And mainly i need to get back to working out.  So i plan on starting my workouts tomorrow (today i can't, my schedule is way to full - i won't be working out til right before bedtime then). I'm going to try and get up before work and get my workout in.  If that doesn't work then i will definitely work out when i get home plus still take the dogs for their walk.  I also need to be drinking more water...i think that's been one of my huge issues lately.  I definitely am not getting enough water anymore.  I was doing so good before.

Holidays

I definitely need to come up with a holiday strategy.  I'm a total sucker for christmas cookies and the appetizers that are out.  I need to limit myself.  I won't completely deprive myself but i will watch how much i eat.  I'm not so concerned about Halloween or even thanksgiving.  Christmas is the worst for me with food.  I need to get myself in control now and i think it will help when christmas comes around.

Hi All....this weeks been ok.  Again no real exercise since i've been crazy busy this week.  I have been taking walks with my dogs.  The puppy is getting better at walk.  Unfortunately last night we stop to talk to a friend in the neighborhood and he chewed right through his leash.  Good thing we were by the house because he's getting heavy and i wouldn't want to have to carry him that far.  I do have extra leashes at home which is good, the other ones i have a the chain type so he won't be able to chew through those.

Yesterday was my daugther's bday...she is now 13.  I can't believe my daughter's a teenager already...i feel old.  She's a good kid which i'm happy about.  She doesn't act anything like most of her friends (bratty, talking back to their parents, etc).

I have not weighed it yet this month.  I plan on doing that tomorrow morning.  Plus i need to get my measurements.  I personally don't think i lost anything but i think i may have stayed the same, which is better than gaining.Smile

Hello everyone...just doing a quick check in.  I've done really good with my eating and water.  I have taken my dogs for a walk so far twice this week which is good...couldn't do it yesterday, it decided to start raining last night right when i was in the middle of mowing lawn Frown

I plan to mow lawn and take the dogs for a walk today again.  I'm starting to get back in the habit of walks which is good.  It's helped me feel a little better but i definitely need to start doing some cardio to so that i feel more energetic.  I plan to start that next week.  Hope everyone's haveing a great week!!!

Clairelaine those are awesome suggestions.  I've been dieting for years and nothing seems to work.  I tend to get to a point that i want the junk food i've been avoiding and then it's all downhill. I've been trying to do that as well.  I've even bought bite size chocolate so i can just have a small piece instead of a whole candy bar.  I really does help.  Chocolate is one of my biggest downfalls...so this does help a lot to curb the craving.

Hello Everyone....So i haven't got much working out in this week (again).  Been busy cleaning, yardwork, puppy time, etc.  Be slowing working on eating healthier and getting my water intake.  Not too bad.  I need to start getting back into the habit of taking walks with my dogs again.  I'm planning on doing that tonight when i get home.  I don't have any other plans that i know of....Hope everyone is having a great week!

Ok, so i am causing the nightly wakes up.  I do go in there and then he lays down and falls asleep.  I just can't take the noise.  He's so loud and very close to our bedrooms.  I really don't want him to wake up our daughter.  And closing our doors do not help.  I did try not going in there but he kept crying for like 15 minutes and i couldn't take it.  So basically i should stop and just leave him cry????  Oh man, that is not going to be fun

He doesn't get an opportunity to chew on the couch or anything when we are gone.  He actually follows us around the house...he really hates being along which by the way makes my nights very long.  So when he chews on the couch/chairs we are right there and catch him right away so hasn't damaged anything which is good.

By the way, any suggestions about the crying at night??? I don't remember this being a huge issue with my other 2 i had.  I think they cried like 1 night each (got them at separate times) and that was it.  Clyde (our new puppy) cries every night usually about the same time between 2 and 3 am.  I'm the only one that hears him and i can't go back to sleep and ignore him.  Any ideas on this one?

Thanks everyone for your great suggestions....

We do have a ton of toys for him put he looses interest very quickly and would rather bite us.  Maybe i will get one of those Kong toys or the Kibble ball....he does love food :o)

I read the reason was the parvo virus...we do have another dog which our vet knows about.  She is completely heathly...no diseases and of course she goes out in the back yard too. That would be the only animal he comes in contact with.  We keep him in the main part of the backyard near the porch so he can't wander where other animals have gone.  Plus we do clean up after our dogs.  I can't wait til he has all his shots so i won't be so nervous about him...2 more weeks.  We'll just have to make sure we clean the backyard all the time....my daughter's going to love that :o)

Just a quick check in....

This week hasn't been to good unfortunately.  I've been sick most of the week so absolutely no exercise, didn't get all my fruits and veges in, but did drink a good amount of water so that's a plus.  On saturday i had done my official weigh in and i was 4 lbs lighter than i thought i was so that good.  I will definitely try getting back in the swing of this over the weekend now that i'm starting to feel better.  I need to start working out again even if it's only about 20 minutes a day.  I feel terrible everyday and i'm sure it has to do with lack of exercise.  When i was exercising everyday i felt amazing.  Now i just feel terrible and can't wait to go to sleep...complete laziness...i don't like it.

Hope everyone is doing amazing on their goals!

Hello everyone....just checking in.  I'm still trying to get back on track with the exercising but it's been so crazy for me.  I don't a momment to do anything for myself but after this weekend it will start to slow down and get back to normal...Yay!!!  I hope to get some exercise in tonight even if it's only 20 minutes before if have to do my running around. I haven't checked my weight since last time so i'm not sure if i've gained anything or lost anything.  I've actually thought about only weighing in once a month so i don't completely obsess over the scale and base my accomplishments solely on pounds lost.

I see a couple of you basing your accomplishments on what your actually doing and the way you feel which sounds a lot better.  I tend to obsess over things and looking at the scale once a week makes me crazy.  So the next time i weigh myself will be sept 1st.  I first the 1st of every month is when my weigh in days will be.
