Not really... The current routine is nurse, potty (she's usually dry still in the morning, so that has to be near the start), get dressed, then I get to use the bathroom and get dressed, then we have breakfast (she has milk and cereal and toast, I have cereal and coffee)... If I can feed her the other stuff before getting her on the potty, it'll be easier because she won't be starving at that point, however, I'm thinking if we wait until AFTER breakfast to go, there's no way she'll still be dry at that point... so maybe it's time to try using the toilet upstairs before we come down (with the baby seat), and then go straight into the high chair... |

Oh she's bitten me... once BADLY... but we've gotten through okay. We've been elimating feedings slowly, first lunch, then dinner, then before bed, then the night-time ones (although she's STILL not sleeping though!), so only the morning is left, and I'm concerned I'm not going to be producing much at this rate, but it will be nice to finally stop. I tried skipping it yesterday and she was NOT a happy girl... I've got to figure out how to adjust our morning routine so she won't notice, since she is having milk and shreddies and toast as well already. |

DN - ummm no? That was why I quit, I want to stay home *snicker*... I'm looking for something I can do from home, so technically it could be anywhere, the files can be FTP'd or e-mailed back and forth, and any collaboration can be done using one of the web meeting programs, teleconference, whatever. However that is what I do - the drafting and engineering-ISH work (technically, design, Lily is the engineer!) |

Awww thanks {{{nomo}}} I've been cooking (scalloped and mashed potatoes) with rice milk, and baking (buttercream frosting) with almond milk... rice milk is VERY sweet though, even the plain (not vanilla) flavour, I can't find an unsweetened version, but it doesn't look like it HAS been sweetened. At least she's happy to drink the fortified rice milk with her meals, but I am still nursing her first thing in the morning... that has to end soon, there are a LOT of teeth in there and it's getting SCAREY! |

I asked my work if I could start tele-commuting, and they didn't go for it, and I don't want to leave my little girl with anyone else just yet, so I'm staying home and looking for contract drafting work instead. This model is just so darn cute, I can deal with the food issues, and I'm just very thankful it's not something more serious! There was a chance she'd outgrow it at one year, that hasn't happened, so now there's a chance she'll outgrow it by the time she's four, and failing that, maybe by the time she's 10... I'm hoping she'll outgrow it, but learning how to work around it... In the meantime, I've found rice ice cream, rice milk, vegan cheese, soy yogurt, some cake recipes I can make for her (so she had chocolate cake for her birthday!)... |

Aww thanks!! I've got to upload a newer picture, that one was from November... she's up and running around as long as she's got something to hold onto, but she's just started intentionally standing up and taking a few shuffling steps without holding on... <eek> She's allergic to milk, so I guess cow's milk, but all forms (it's not a lactose intolerance, it's a histamine reaction to the proteins), so lactose-free doesn't do anything, and margarines and soy cheeses made with some small amount of whey powder or casein are still on the list of stuff to avoid. *grumble grumble* I haven't tried goats milk (too scared), but I have given her almond milk, and I just found and started a fortified rice milk that has the same calcium as regular milk, but now the allergist says to give her soy formula, and I've managed to avoid giving her formula or any store babyfood for her whole life so far... so I'm trying to see what's in the formula that she's not currently getting... |

And yes, you're growing a human, so almost all the rules do get tossed out the window... the first coupla weeks after the baby comes is wonderful, I was losing a pound a day! Now I've just gotta get back on the wagon and lose the rest... *shrugs* I'm still smaller than when I started though! |

awwww {{lily}} thanks! And yup, she IS getting big! I keep asking her to please stop growing, I"m good with this size, but she's not listening to me LOL. She still occationally gets called peanut, but mostly I call her snugglebug... she loves being wrapped up and won't go to sleep unless she's swaddled (STILL!) and rocked... Carrie - I LOVED listening to the heartbeat! It seems so weird that there's a little peanut in there, when only a short while ago is was only gas... have you felt anything yet? |
