Cold bean salads sound like a really good idea. Would you make these with tinned beans, like butter beans, etc? |

| I have tried that, problem is I often cook things I can't take as leftovers. I work in an office where there is a "no hot food" policy - so it could only be something that doesn't need re-heating. This rules out soup, chili etc. Pasta would be good though, I will try that. Thanks | |||

I went to Starbucks today for a "Skinny Blueberry Muffin". Looked on their website after and it was 360 calories! (Calorie Count said they were about 460, which I think is wrong). What a waste... I had already had lunch so have now overeaten for the day! |

| Ha ha, your post made me laugh so much. Monoboob, lol. I am in the same situation. Finishing uni and have put on almost a stone. I am going travelling in September when I leave uni so want to lose the stone before then. Feel free to add me and we can keep track of each other as we both have a very similar target in the same time scale. I am 34 DD/E so feel the same. Im sure they do add more. Maybe start for a boob job fund.... :) | |||

| I snack on chillies - just raw ones that have been stored in jars (normally in some kind of juice). They are really low cal AND increase your metabolism AND burn your mouth out so much you can't eat anything else. lol. | |||

I feel like this too. I cook for my boyfriend and I each day and find that as soon as i've finished my meal I am planning the next days meals! Food is all that I can think about at times. I wouldn't go as far as saying you have a disorder or even that you are weird! I think that for people who constantly obsess over food because of their weight, it is something that is naturally going to be on your mind all the time. This was more to save money than to stop thinking about food - but I went through my fridge/freezer and cupboards and used what was there to plan a "menu" for my boyfriend for the next five days. All he had to do each morning was pick what he wanted, so I didnt have to plan it (just get it out the freezer if it was frozen meat). That stopped me from thinking about it as it was already planned, but didn't take away the fun of cooking as to plan it I spent an evening with all my receipe books! Worth a try! :) |

| Foods | How do you eat a Persimmon? | Jan 15 2008 15:57 (UTC) |

I found you a recipe for cooked persimmon (Sharon Fruits). Sounds yummy and might make a nice change. The Sharon Fruit is quite sweet so you could probably get away with using less than a cup of sugar and replacing it with more than a cup of persimmon pulp. Think I might try this... I can feedback later :) Persimmon Cookies 1 tsp. Baking soda |

Mmmmm... i love it when these are in season. Funnily enough I am just back from a trip to my fruit and veg shop to buy some, but he is all out. I personally cut them in half down the middle and eat all the insides out with a spoon, but my boyfriend just washes the fruit and eats the entire thing. YUM. |

| Weight Loss | Starvation Mode? | Jan 13 2008 14:23 (UTC) |

Hi - I am 22, 5'3 and 126lb. Calorie Count said I should eat 1200 a day in order to lose weight (1lb a week to a goal of 116lb). I figured that if I eat less that 1200 a day (I guess I average on 1000, varying from 800 - 1100) that I would lose weight faster. If anything it would seem that I am staying the same weight! Would this be because I am in starvation mode??? |

| Weight Loss | How should I list butcher produce? | Jan 12 2008 18:39 (UTC) |

| Yeh I knew that too. Fish is often dyed and meat has pink put into it. I have even heard of Asda dying "corn-fed" chickens yellow so they look more corn fed. Disguisting isn't it! | |||

I guess just finding the closest match will just have to do! I would imagine that if anything, locally produced butcher meat would be less calories than supermarket produce anyway. Particularly with anything processed like sausages as no preservatives are added, sugar etc. Chicken for roasting would be the same I suppose. Definately going 100% butcher and free range produce in 2008! Already bought my first packet of free range eggs :) |

| Weight Loss | my hips (love handles) make me cry at night | Jan 12 2008 15:57 (UTC) |
|
| Ooh :( i feel exactely the same. I am 5'3 and 126lb (32e bra which I hope is where my weight is) but ALL the rest is love handle. I hate it and it is the sole reason I use calorie count to try and minimise it. No matter what I lose they never seem to go down, I just drop a bra size then end up wasting money by having to buy new bras!! Nightmare. | |||
| Vegetarian | I think I'm screwed (gas) | Jan 12 2008 15:27 (UTC) |

Hi, that might make a lot of sense actually. I am not "vegetarian", but generally drink rice milk instead of cow, eat very little meat (due to disliking the taste) and plenty of vegetables, quorn and lentils. I have the same problem and I also have IBS. It would seem that with most things I eat I suffer from a painful trapped gas related stomach ache. It is fairly common so it might just be that you have that. According to Carol V's detox diet, Jerusalem Artichokes are really good for IBS. DO NOT eat these... ha ha. They will make you fart like a trooper! |

| Weight Loss | which should i consider my actual weight?? | Jan 07 2008 16:46 (UTC) |

I am the same, I always gain about 3lbs throughout the day :) so I just go with the middle one as an average. Above post is right though, only weigh once a day at the same time, that way you are getting an accurate weight. (It is probably more accurate to only weigh once a week to get a proper indication of a weekly loss, but I don't even do this!) |

GIN! 1 shot Gin (50cal) 1 Slimline tonic mixer (0cal) Get the barman to fill your glass with ice, then pour the shot in, then there is any about a third of the glass left for tonic. Means you get to use one tonic bottle per two gins, so saving on the cash too! Plus, its a strong drink, so you won't need as much :) |

just to add my input, I am curvy but I wasn't at 14! At 14 I was about 118lb but had no shape. Women don't always get curvy until they are about 16-18! In response to an earlier post, counting calories now is only going to make you less curvy in the future because you will be inturpting your natural growing period. 120lb isn't that much for your height :) |

| 95lbs and 5ft tall.... I am 129lbs and 5.3, consider yourself "lucky". However, as a previous post mentioned, there are mental and physical aspects to weight loss. This site should be about people who are actually overweight trying to lose the few extra pounds, not as a site for teenagers to attempt to become super-skinny. I would advise trying to maintain the weight you are and toning your stomach, thus making it look better. In agreement with the above post, when you reach an older age (myself, mid twenties) you will laugh at thinking you're fat, its hard to see your post as a genuine inquiry, but rather an insult to those of us who are here to actually lose excess weight. |
