Your body burns the same calories/day, regardless of when you eat. So it doesn't matter. That time is just so you don't eat at night, so you won't eat as much. Your body doesn't take into account what time it is when you eat, there is no reason why eating something later at night would increase its calorie content :p |

| I'm going to find a place to volunteer and actually do it, give up gum, chocolate, and maybe fast through the day once or twice (I did that with a friend for Ramadan, so I know I can do it, though it's hard), and spend as little as possible on stuff I don't need. It's going to be hard, but that's the point! I'll miss my gum and chocolate, but it is a sacrifice and saves money :) |

| I eat a half-cup of fiber one. Like, nibble on the individual fiberlettes (:p each little cereal thing) and it takes a long time to do. Plus it adds fiber to your diet! Though I like Fiber one, so if you don't I'd say gum and hot tea (just not together. Ick). |

So look at dafur should they not have to explain their beliefs? Or take
Nazi Germany, should they not be asked to explain their beliefs? or do
you just turn the blind eye in all situations? This is nothing like that. Godwin's law: Godwin's law is often cited in online discussions as a caution against the use of inflammatory rhetoric or exaggerated comparisons, especially fallacious arguments of the reductio ad Hitlerum form. Eating fake meat and defending it compared to killing millions of people and defending it... You're silly. In addition, it's not hurting anyone, so why bring it up? As I said before, if out of pure curiousity this is an ok topic, but to bring into question someone's way of living just to argue is ridiculous. And the attacks on others' intelligence are uncalled for. |

| giggle puppy already invoked Godwin's law on page one, so that argument was over at page one :p Vegetarians = nazi's? Okey dokey then, that makes complete sense (and by sense I mean nonsense) :p |

Well, I need protein, and the veggie burgers I eat are made of vegetables/soy, so it tastes nothing like meat. Though, I eat fish, so I guess it wouldn't bother me like others, I guess. It's also easier, sometimes. Making a veggie burger is fast and easy, and since I'm the only vegetarian in my family, I need something to make when they eat steaks or whathaveyou. It's also mean to assume we're "pretending" to save an animal. I don't think I'm saving anything, it's more like a boycott. I don't like the way animals are treated, so I don't buy meat (yeah, I eat fish, but I'm trying to go vegetarian, slow and steady). It's a valid question, just try to word it without being so... bitter, presumptious, etc. It sounds mean, the way you put it. |

| Ok, I know it's already evening, but I was busy this morning, so whatever :p goals for today: Run for 1/2 hour (5 mph) Don't eat too many sweets (haha, weaning myself off the dark chocolate m&m's) Do 100 situps Limit late night snacking Don't forget to stretch! :) Do homework in a timely manner Go to bed before (not at) 11:00. Goals reached: I ran for 1/2 hour, at 5.2 mph for a little while, and 6.2 for like 8 minutes, 6.5 for three. I'm really happy, since I used to be able to 'run' at 4.5 mph for 20 minutes maximum (and I started running regularly last week, so this is a huge improvement). I was just like, screw running at 5.2 mph, I'm bored and want to be done now (time goes faster when running faster for me) and turned it up and didn't stop. Sorry for this hugely long explanation, I'm just really proud of myself (which is sorta a rare thing for me). I ate like 30 m&m's, whoops :/ Didn't get to situps (yet! :p) Not late night yet Already stretched :) Haven't started homework Not bedtime yet I'm really happy about the running thing, like unbelievably. Goals for tomorrow: Run 1/2 hour Eat more protien Finish project Stretch Get to bed before 11:00 Limit sweet intake! Blarg Limit late evening snacking (also Blarg) |

| Weight Loss | Do your friends and family know? | Dec 03 2007 00:48 (UTC) |

My family and friends don't know. I mean, my mom prolly does 'cause I'll tell her how many Calories in a dinner she makes (total), and try to help her lower it (we're trying to make our family healthy. Men in my family tend to get overweight and I don't want my brother to have any health issues later in life, so yeah). They know I'm trying to be healthier, but I don't think they know that I log all my food and stuff. I think I'd feel odd if they did. Plus, my mom eats like a bird and thinks she's fat(she's not), so I'd rather not give her any ideas. Same with my sister. Brother and dad wouldn't care. My friends would prolly be a little upset 'cause they keep telling me I'm skinny (I'm average), and one friend had a bad experience with counting Calories (got obsessed), so I'd rather them not know. |

Thanks for all the replies (and links :) ) And that explains my plateau as well :p carie87 - I did that, and it told me to eat 1400 Calories a day. Thank you though :) undertherainbow- Thanks a lot for the links, they were really helpful. And I did not know that, though at one point I think I did. My activity level really varies. I mostly go for walks (30minutes- 1 hour) day, but I run from time to time. I'm just trying to find it at sedentary so I can manually add in my day. So, I'd say light-medium, but I'm looking for sedentary. Thanks again :) gloomy_bear- Thank you for your help, I didn't realize I was undereating :) |

Vitamin A from carrots is not toxic, don't worry (even if you go above the limit), just don't go over so often, I suppose . :) Edit: hold on while I do some more research to make sure that is correct Edit again: I'm getting mixed information - some sources mention the sources of Vitamin A (pills or food) specifically as a cause for sickness if too much vitamn A is taken, others do not mention it at all. So, here's a link: Vitamin A I don't think you'll get horribly ill, it seems like nausea and headaches might occur. But if you get ill and feel ill for multiple days, see a doctor. And definetely do not eat that much Vitamin A again. Where did you eat the salad (a resturaunt?), because I can't see a resturaunt adding so many carrots that if something bad happened it risked law suit. So, if you at at a resturaunt would assume nothing to worry about in the long run...but that's just me |

| Oh, I'm always satisfied (I have to be, I feel like throwing up if hungry. Odd reaction, right?)! I even eat cookies and chocolate(gasp). Just everything in moderation. Plan your meals and allow 'wiggle' room (for, let's say, that irresistable pie slice your friend made). Eat smaller portions, but more often. And exercise(that way you can eat a little more (but don't over indulge!), ahaha)! Drink water and tea like a fish in the sea (during the Boston Tea party, of course). And apples fill me up, so them too Good luck |

| I tried to make this tofu recipe one time (it was on the container the tofu came in). I didn't have any of the ingrediants at the time (except the tofu), so I improvised. I learned steak sauce does not taste like BBQ sauce. Among other things (ick, it was terrible). |

It's only one day- do better tomorrow. Good job with the Halloween candy. I wasn't able to be good (darn you snickers!):p But instead of eating Halloween candy, I try to eat a handfull of Fiber One and a large glass of water. It fills you up, so you can't eat any candy. Frozen grapes (or any frozen fruit) really takes care of that sweet craving for me :) Just go through the log for today, look for the biggest contributors of empty calories, and put more of a limit on that specific food or type of food. Good luck :) |

| But my take on the situation is -- if you smell the apple & you're
still hungry, well then, there's an apple in front of your face to eat,
which may keep the ice cream in the freezer at bay. ;) Ha, that made me laugh. :p That was an interesting article spoiled candy. Are you friends with any of them? Maybe ask. |
