oh yeah, i mean the flavored water with artifical sweetners. i always pictured flavored water to be worse than regualar water but better than diet soda. does that seem accurate?

hey ladies!!
well, the 4th came and went and here we are :) i was on vacation since the second and made it a point to not overeat, to workout and to find a scale for my final weigh on on the 4th. i am down 13 lbs since i started this challenge and you ladies first came to mind. i really wish i had access to a comp so i could send you guys a message asap!! i was so excited.

how was everyone's fourth?! i think we should create a new goal either for maintence or to finish losing the rest of our weight. what does everyone else think?

plan for today:
B: egg whites, ham and tomato
L: salad with chicken
D: peas/carrots and a burrito
S: yogart and sugar free ice cream

workout:
run 2 miles on lunch (i have a huge test tomorrow and will be spending most of the night studying)

morning all!

tweetria, congrats on reaching your goal!! thats just fabulous, i bet you'll see the results on the scale in the next few days if you havent already :)

i've been increasing my running and im starting to see the results in my legs, the muscles are becoming more prominant, but not in a body builder way, just in a nicely toned way.....just in time for my red/white and blue dress for the 4th!!

today i worked out in the morning before work since i wont get a chance to do so after work with class and everything. i may run 2 miles on my lunch break, i havent decided yet tho.

Todays plan
B: english muffin, egg whites, protein drink
S: watermelon
L: chicken wrap with an apple
S: orange
D: soup and a salad
S: ??????? (something REALLY good!)

hope everyone is ready for the 4th!!! we are almost there, everyone keep up the hard work :)

we are all here for you!! thats an awesome goal for this weekend, best of luck to you! i to am looking for motovation this weekend. my goal is to run no less than four miles each day this weekend. i really hope we reach our goals!! how about we give eachother postive incentives if we reach our goal. for instance, if you burn 3500 cals this weekend, i think you should treat yourself to a new pair of workout socks. consider it a gift from us to you! haha :)

im working at the hospital this weekend, ill be helping deliever babies so im ok with that :). no big plans here, i volunteered to work this weekend so i can have off july 4th weekend!!

todays plan:
B: english muffin and coffee
S: WW muffin
L: carrots and bite size snickers
D: going out with an old flame from HS, so that means ill be light on the food and heavy on the beers.

workout:
run 6 miles, taking a day off from the gym

morning all! welcome to our group Keileen :)

lets talk about time of the month. so yesterday i was craving peanut butter all day. i wanted it on bread with jelly. on a banana and straight from the spoon. i waited til i got home from work to indulge. between increasing my workouts plus that time of the month, i am practically eating my way out of the house! you can compare what i ate last night to my planned diet i posted yesterday. its funny.

so last night after work (on top of what i planned):
1/2 PB and Jelly sandwhich, banana with PB, 4 oreos, brownie with one scoop of ice cream, 2 chocolate chip cookies, 2 cups of cereal, 1/2 pop tart.

im ok with it, my attitude is at least it wasnt a whole bag of cookies or 1 whole sandwhich or 1 whole pop tart haha. good news is today im craving none of that :)


workout:
50 min walk before work
6 mile run after work
30 min weights during lunch

food:
B: coffee
L: WW soup
D: chicken and veggies
S: frozen grapes, apple, cottege cheese

oh i noticed that to, i do sweat more if i drink before. i also noticed if i drink after, ill sweat even more. its crazy, i hate that. ugh i wish it increased calorie burn, it would make my life a lot easier! :)

hell yes i'd love to keep this group going after the 4th. this is really keeping me in check and honest with myself, im also learning a lot from you ladies as well.

i feel like im recovering from the weekend, i ran 5 miles yesterday and 2 miles today, my sun burn is starting to blister and its becoming uncomfortable when sitting still, but its getting better for sure! i bought a dress for july 4th back in may and it was a little snug, im gonna try it on next week and crossing my fingers that it fits :)

todays plan
B: english muffin with egg beaters, fiber one
L: 100 cal bagel with light soup
D: still up in the air, maybe a salad of some sorts
S: low cal muffin, apple, banana

workout:
2 mile run (cant do much more with class this evening)

keep up the good work everyone, im so happy to hear about your successes so far!!! :)

morning all!

this weekend i was down the shore and got a really bad burn on my legs. it hurts so bad behind my knees. ugh! i didnt realize that it has hindered my workout schedule since it is so painful to walk let alone run :( im hoping its better by this evening so i can burn off all the cals from the margaritas this weekend :)

todays plan:
B: coffee and cottege cheese
S: grapes
L: broccoli and chicken noodle soup
S: frozen yogart
D: chicken and rice

Workout (hopefully):
run 6 miles, 30 minute weights.

hey everyone!

sorry i havent been replying, i was at diabetes kids camp for a few days as a counselor. im sooo exhaused! i really wish i took the day off from work today. hope everyone is doing well on this first day of summer. it was 65 degrees in philly this morning and beautiful! i think im gonna run 2 miles on my lunch break then 4 miles after work before heading to the shore :)

i gained two lbs this week (but im ok with it) my choices of food at the mess hall werent exactly weight loss friendly.

B: coffee and special K
L: chicken noodle soup and salad
D: quesedilla with broccoli

have a fab day everyone! keep up the good work, the fireworks are just around the corner :)

morning everyone :)

carolally, i think thats a great way of looking at calorie intake, i always notice if i overeat on something i dont feel or see the effects for a few days anyway, im going down the shore this weekend with the girls, and there will be plenty of wine, so i think im gonna take ur advice and aim low this week with maintance this weekend. im glad we all feel the same way about wine and light beer, i always have trouble with that as well.

today i got in a morning workout (50 min ellipical) and im gonna run 2 miles on my lunch break. yesterday i had a late dinner with an old friend so today im only gonna have coffee for breakfast and take an early lunch.

oh quick tip ladies....its delish!: take a bottle of water, add a little sweet and low and lemon wedges...stick in the freezer until its a mixture of ice and water. its so refreshing and tastes like a lemon water ice :)

good luck today!! july 4th is a little over two weeks away!!

hey everyone! i hope everyone had a great weekend :) desireesmom, i notice i do the same thing....great during the week, bad on the weekends...especially with bbq and ice cream season upon us. i do however, think i ate something that didnt agree with my stomach at our fathers day bbq yesterday. i feel like a ton of bricks is just sitting there...i bearly ate today cause i feel SO full. and im not sure why.

plan:

b: banana and coffee
l: pb and jelly, banana
d: chicken noodle soup and sandwitch.

workout: running 2 miles, cardio 60 min, weighs 30 min (arms and chest)

i think ill step on the scale again this wednesday...wish me luck!!! have a fabulous evening everyone...one day closer to friday :)

thanks for the input tweet. im always nervous to try new protein drinks. today it was so nice here i ran on my lunch break, but it was a lot hotter than i anticipated!!

L: mixed veggies and chicken
D: left over pesto pasta
S: veggie soup and crackers

workout:
run six miles/lay on my couch tonight...im exhaused :)

hey ladies,
im glad to see everyone is doing well. i havent weighed myself at all this week due to a couple run ins with ice cream :) speaking of protein shakes, did any of you try myoplex lite? i was wondering about the taste cause i havent liked many of the protien shakes i tried before.

haha chomp thats really great! i think you are well on your way to (dare i say) fitting into high school attire :)

today it is 102 degrees here. no running/walking outside for me. i overslept this morning and was a half hour late for work. plus i have class tonight so im gonna have to put working out on the back burner :(

D: smart ones with a fiber one bar
S: something cold!

thanks everyone for the replys so far, hands down this is definately the most helpful advice i've got.

as far as salary, i'd be working as a registered nurse. my offer was more in NYC but i figured that had to do with the cost of living. also, in NYC i wouldnt bring a car, but if i moved to DC i'd buy a new one. i thought the expenses would kind of even out, since my rent in NYC would be equalivant to my rent plus car payment and insurance in DC.

morning all!

i am feeling SO much better than i have last week! i had soooo much fun at the party this weekend and everyone noticed that i lost weight. that made me have an even better time! an the white suit went over very well :)

chomp-im so glad ur feeling better as well, i also was looking into swimming now that the weather is really nice, but with my swimming techniques....it is not going to be pretty.

susie- congrats on your weight loss! im sure you are lookin FABULOUS! :) im so envious of your swimming abilities! i can bear put on a bathing suit correctly.

todays plan
B: strawberry and banana smoothie
L: chicken noodle soup with a turkey sandwhich
D: grilled chicken tacos and a salad

its 100 degress in Philly today, so i think im gonna ditch the outdoor running and just stick to the gym today.

i heard that calorie shifting is the way to go, our bodies never need just one set number of calories on a given day. sometimes we need more, sometimes less. did you know that when our bodies are actively fighting off a cold, we burn approx 200 more calories? i thought that was interesting. it just goes to show that sometimes our bodies need calories we couldnt even predict.

heres the plan for the day:
B: kashi go lean and ff milk
L: peas and carrots/turkey sandwhich
D: grilled chicken and veggies
S: yogart, banana, apple with PB

workout:
running 2 miles, cardio machine 40 min, weights 30 min.

hey all...

if you noticed, i usually respond on here first thing in the morning. well, i just woke up...like i said i've been feeling under the weather so i took the day off. chomp, maybe our wall posts are too close to eachother....i think thats how i got this cold ;)

todays (bland) diet:

B: chicken noodle soup, english muffin
L: grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup
D: parogies and vegtable soup
S: oranges and bananas

i think im gonna get out of the house tonight to see the sex and the city movie! im pumped about that. aww tweetria! lol im sure you'll be able to catch up on sleep once your two year old goes off to college ;)

morning everyone.

i dont know what it is, but lately i've been having the hardest time getting out of bed in the morning. and all day, my body feels so achy. i was thinking maybe i was overdueing my workouts but now i just think im probably fighting off a cold. blah!

anyways, i hope everyones week is going well... today i weighted myself and im down to 150!! 10 lbs gone since starting :)

todays plan:
B: english muffin, cottege cheese doubles
S: apple
L: smart ones
S: carrots
D: soup and a salad

workout: taking the day off!! i was gonna walk on my lunch break but i have an interview with a recruiter for a position in the navy as a nurse.

wow vodka and crystal light! i completely forgot about that drink...we used to make that in college and call it super sneakies, since you could bearly taste the vodka in this mix! thanks for the reminder desirees! :)

hope you feel better chomp!! your body def needs more rest than exercise now. take it easy and try to catch up on talk shows and soaps ;)

morning everyone :)

i worked this weekend so unfortunately my weekend could have been better, BUT i did see the new sex and the city movie!! [i wont give away the ending:)]. i love the fact that the sun is out when i get up in the morning, it makes morning workouts much doable, i really hate gettting up with its still dark out.

susieq thats a great accomplishment!! all ur hard work is really paying off.

i plan on visiting some friends from college this weekend, so i really want to stay on point this week. we have a black and white party to go to on friday...i plan on wearing a white suit with a black shirt, fishnets, heals topped with a red purse. i really wanna look HOTT this weekend!

todays plan:
B-fiber one cereal with 2% milk and a banana
L-minestrone soup with yogart
S-apple/peas and carrots
D: grilled chicken with plenty of veggies

workout:
2 mile run, 30 min ellipical, 30 min weights

hey emilynsb...it seems as though your scale is weighing you in kilograms rather than lbs. im not sure if there is a switch on your scale to change it back to lbs, but it not, you can figure out your weight by taking the kg valve and multiplying it by 2.2.

For instance.... 64 x 2.2 = 140.8; which is awesome!! you lost 0.2 lbs!! haha

tweetrita, some foods that will not break down as sugar/fat are veggies, lean protiens (chicken, beans) and cottege cheese are my staples. be aware of "sugar free" food. while it may look good on the nutrition facts, our bodies dont recgonize artificial sweetners vs. real sugar and therefore, our pancreas realizes the same amount of insulin which alters our blood sugar, and that is ultimately responsible for our cravings and appetites. your best bet is to stick to foods as natural as possible :)

congrats desireesmom thats such a great accomplishment :) today is so gorgeous out i think im gonna run out in the park on my lunch today. this weekend is my work weekend, so im gonna spend the night taking to easy :)

B: wawa coffee, english muffin, egg whites and salsa
L: peas and chicken noodle soup
D: up in the air...maybe a slice of pizza and a salad?
S: fiber one bar, apple

Workout:
run 4 miles, weight lift, arms, shoulders and back.

thanks for the advice on walk vs running. i do agree that i feel more productive when i sweat during a workout but walking is a great activity on something like my lunch break. today i ran the two miles took a shower and came back to work. tomorrow i think ill opt for staying at work and walking on my break and switch it up a bit.

elizajk: unfortunately i think ribs are higher in cals (bummer). i would think more around 800 cals for a good est.

desireesmom, that alcohol guide is so helpful! i just copied it on an index card and am gonna keep it in my wallet for future reference. thanks again!!

morning all! chomp congrats on joining the gym! thats awesome that your rents are helping you with the payments, it can get expensive but its def worth it!

plan:
B: english muffin with promise butter, fiber one with FF milk
L: minestrone soup
D: up in the air, im meeting my girlfriends for dinner...im thinking fish.
S: granola bar and maybe yogart.

exercise: since im going out tonight and slept in that leaves lunch my only time for a workout, im either going to run 2 miles or walk for 60 minutes. hmmm any ideas on what i should do?!

i hope everyone had a great weekend! i took a vacation from work and my comp for a few days and went to the shore, but im back and ready to continue on this journey.

as of now i weigh 152, 8 lbs gone since i started this program :)

todays menu:
B-coffee with cream
L-english muffin, tuna, lettuce and tomato
D-grilled chicken, broccoli and a salad
S-WW ice cream/yogart/apple/orange

exercise: today will be my day off. i caught up on sleep this morning and tonight i have my first pediatric exam. i ran 8 miles over the weekend and got weight lifting in.
