Hey there!  The only forum I really even look at is The Lounge occasionally when I'm bored but I rarely post, usually just read the stupid topics and silly replies!  Occasionally they're entertaining.

Daizy~ I asked D when he wanted to start exercising again and he said soon but last night he begged for ice cream and I caved and made him cookies and cream icecream (using double stuffs!).  So of course I had a handful of double stuffs myself but no icecream, no wasting my cals on silly filler when all I'm in it for is the cookie chunks!  I'd rather go straight to the source for my cals!

Peanut~ SO glad P and D got the shots!  Are you going to get one too or is it a moot point now that you've had it?  I'm not sure how this disease works.

My funk today is lifting slightly.  I just spen over an hour on bluemountain.com sending funn e-cards to D!  Hope one of them makes him smile.

Oh, tomorrow I'm going to try and make homemade chicken and dumplings!  I found a really yummy sounding recipe online.  I need to go to the store for a few last min things like herbs so they're fresh for this weekend's cooking palooza!!  Here's the Saturday t-day menu:

sweet onion tartlets

spinache artichoke dip

Turkey (duh) with sage and fresh herb butter

Mashed potatoes and gravy made with turkey drippings

scalloped corn

broccoli casserole (D's mom is making)

asparagus if it's fresh

corn bread stuffing (trying homemade corn bread)

home made bread

pumpkin pie (D's mom is making)

baklava

sweet dough wreath

egg nog

So I need something with color.  I'm considering something cranberry but I don't think anyone really likes anything cranberry and I'm worried something will spill on my white lace tabelcloth (I'm cool with anything except spilled cranberry juice!).

Good morning ladies!  Wow, there must have been a lot of chatting on the forums this weekend because we were on page FIVE today!  And Peanut posted on Saturday night!  Wow, for a minute I thought they deleted our thread but I finally found it!

Daizy~ Yeah P90X is insanely time consuming but SO good.  I think you'll get the best results if you follow it but of course life happens (as you saw with us) and it's very difficult.  Just make sure to get the three muscle groups (chest/back, abs/arms and legs) and then I highly recomend the Kempo (kickboxing) workout.  I hated the plyometrics workout and wasn't a huge fan of the yoga workout (1.5 hours!!).  All muscle dvd's have a 15 min ab workout after them so be prepared for that, 1 hour of working out + 15 mins of ab ripper.  But I do recommend the recovery drink, it's excellent actually!!  And I'm insanely picky!  Their protein bars are only ok and we didn't try the vitamins or anything else.  Good luck with it, hope your knee is finally healing!

Peanut~ I hope you're feeling better finally!  It must be so heartbreaking not to be able to hold P!!  But once you're better I'm sure you'll smother him with love!  Good luck getting him the vaccine!

Peanut~ hope you feel better soon!

Val~ hope the girls are doing better also!

Daizy~ are you ready to start P90X yet or no?  I'm not sure if I want to go back to it right now but I do want to do something, P is very time consuming.

Geez, not much to chat about today!  I'm hungry, just finished my mac & cheese Lean Cuisine (it was alright) but that just didn't satisfy me.  I don't think I'm really hungry though, water time!

Hi everyone!  I'm back once again.  See journal for last two days.

Peanut~ I really want to read your book!  I too am not sure what publishers are looking for in a synopsis but I liked what you wrote above.

Val~ Hey, welcome back to Earth!!  Hope the girls are feeling better.  I like the synopsis of your book, Daizy and I are dying to read all of your books ladies!!

Grrr, gotta get something done for work, be back tomorrow to write more.

Peanut!!!~ your books sound great, I can't wait to read them someday!!  If you ever want a second pair of eyes, I volunteer mine!  I did apply for that job but haven't heard anything.  My friend who works there and sent me the link asked last week if I'd heard anything and when I said no she said she'd look into it.  I'll check back with her later this week and see if she found anything out.  It may be that I'm just not qualified for the position but like you said, at least I applied!

Daizy~ sounds like you had a great weekend!  To answer your LASIK question, yes, contacts change the contour of your eye and compress the ourter layers of your eyeball slightly.  They were going to scan my eye to tell the computer what corrections to make but since I'd worn my contacts then it would have changed my Rx.  So it's not a big deal or anything, just annoying that we drove all the way up there for nothing.  I know it's my fault I forgot to wear my glasses but when they call to remind me my appt is tomorrow, they could make those calls two weeks ahead (that's how long it takes to recover from continued contact wear) to remind me about my appt and to stop wearing contacts.  Oh well, it doesn't effect when my surgery will be so it's not a big deal.

Well, tomorrow night is the viewing in the evening so I'll probably be at work during the day but I'll be gone on Wednesday for the burial up north around DC.

So I'm going to continue chatting to myself until you all come back :P  Today is a classic fall day: dreary, rainy and chilly.  Not cold enough to build a fire at home though, just chilly outside.  So I'm all in a funk today because of the weather.

Tonight I'm meeting some of my Relay girls for dinner at the local pizza joint to gab and show them pics of my honeymoon.  D's all mopey because he's not invited because it's a girls night!  But if he were to come he'd sit there all brood-y anyway because we'd all just be chatting too much for his liking anyway so I dion't know why he wants to go or is being retarded about me going.  He'd be either quietly sitting there praying I'm ready to go, or rushing me out the door.  He's not a social person and I am.

It feels like Friday because 65% of our building is out for Vet's Day.  The government has off but we get the day after Thanksgiving instead.  Fair trade in my opinion.  I'd take that friday off anyway so whatever.  This Friday is my CWS and I'm taking it!  It's my second appt with the LASIK dr's.  I didn't win free lasik but they gave me $1500 off which is more than friends/family discount for workers there so they'll probably never off it again so we decided to do it.  It's still $3K though!  In order to use the discount, I have to start the process in 2009 but we want to use my flex account to pay for it through work in 2010 so my appts are this year and the surgery is the first week in January.  I'm petrified!!  I don't want to know what they're going to do.  I don't want to watch videos on it and I certainly don't want to view the procedure on someone!!  But legally I must hear what they have to say and watch the video (I spend most of it with my eyes closed and D commentating to me) but opted out of viewing the surgery on someone else!

After that appt we're going back to the social security office with the right paperwork to get me a new social security card with my new name, woot!

Well, hope everyone is having a fantastic day off!

Oh my gosh we're having fun baking up a storm at our house!!  But that means tons of carbs right now!  I gotta get my butt in gear and move a little bit to counter act it.

I think we're going to do a Thanksgiving dinner with D's parents and sister/BIL  the week after Thanksgiving.  The normal family meal will be up in Frederick, MD at his uncle's house but that never leaves us with left overs and this year his parents are going out of town because it's their anniversary and frankly, I just want to cook and use all my new stuff!!  So that's the plan, right now the menu is being mentally prepared and it consists of homemade bread, turkey, mashed potatoes/gravy, scalloped corn (similar to creamed corn but better) and something spectacular for dessert.  I'll probably have his mom make broccoli casserole since I suck at it and hate it but D loves it!  What else?  We need something green (broccoli casserole will be primarily yellow, aka covered in cheese).  Green bean casserole?  Fresh asparagus with a garlic reduction sauce?  And what about appitizers?  Fresh bread with spinach artichoke dip and stuffed mushrooms?  Dessert suggestions?  Doesn't have to be healthy but those are always considered :P

Peanut & Val~ I demand you take a sanity break and come in and chat with us for a little while!!  How go the novels?

Peanut & Val~ how are the novels coming?

Busy weekend and didn't get everything done I wanted too, house is still a wreck upstairs but the basement is clean and the wood is stacked and the kitchen appliances were broken in this weekend, just call me Betty Crocker!!

I'm not a writer by any means!  I have no idea what you guys write about but i'm sure it's fantastic!

Daizy~ yeah, I'm sure the anticipation for your race is kicking up but just do your best and try to enjoy it.  I'm SO proud of you for even doing the race, that's amazing!!!

The job I applied for is Systems Engineer which is a pretty broad position.  Basically they're the ones that oversee projects and make sure everyone is staying on track and on the same page and all the different companies are playing nice together.  Who knows if it will pan out, I haven't heard anything yet.

Ahhh, this weekend is going to be crazy!  I have tons of laundry to do and then finish unpacking things and putting them away from the wedding, start thank you cards, get wood delivered and stacked for fires and I MUST finish cleaning the Relay crap in the basement.  It's still the explosion from the end of the event and needs to get put away and organized.  I can't believe I let it go this long but hey, I was a little busy these past few months!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Dear officemate,

Yes, we are crammed three people into an office made for one but we ALL have to deal with it, not just you.  I can't stand it when you get all "hippy" on me and complain about the gov't and giant corporations that support the government because you work for one!  You hate the policies that are made, you hate the way the company does business, you hate just about everything about the company that provides you with a paycheck, so why not step off the gravy train and get a job as a tree hugger which I'm sure you'll find something to complain about then too.  And stop being a coffee snob, it makes me want to punch you in the face.

Hi everyone!  This week has just been weird with deaths and lots of other stuff.

Peanut~ I'm sure P was totally cute, I'll check out your pics tonight!  You didn't grow up with Halloween?  I don't even know what it is about the holiday that gets me so excited, I am terrified by ghosts and scary movies and I hardly even dress up anymore!  I think it's just the celebration of fall that excites me!  Sounds like your new computer is doing well and NaNo is going good so far.  Keep up the great work!

Val~ we miss you!  Sounds like you're busy with NaNo as well and the girls.  Hope everyone had a fun halloween!

Daizy~ Yay you're back!!  I saw your FB pics, cool crown and medal!  Don't worry about your time, you accomplished it and that's all that matters!!  Glad you had a fun time with your mom down there, it's great you have a place like that you can escape to every now and again!

Jess~ come chat with us! How are the boys and Pittsburgh?  Sounded like you were going through a little rough patch a while ago, are things any better?

Olivia~ I miss you!  Your FB status' make it sounds like you're all in love and getting back into jogging/wogging, hope it's going well for you!

Well everyone, I am actually quietly job hunting because I'm bored right now.  My friend just started with a new company and sent me a link of jobs still available and I'm actually considering applying.  I hesitate because I'm not huge on change and I love my co-workers (most of the time anyway) and the atmosphere around my little office.  But on the other hand sometimes I don't like it.  But we need money right now and usually the way to do that is to switch jobs so I'm going to look down that road and see where it leads.  It may lead right back to my desk but I'll never know if I don't give it a shot right?

Peanut~ yay for new computers! Hope you get it up and running soon so you can come chat with us!

Daizy~ hope your trip home was safe travels and you had a nice time in FL for a bit!

Val~ hope the kiddos had a happy halloween and didn't eat too much candy!

I actually did pretty good staying out of the candy dish but now we have left overs and it's not going that well!  Already today has been a mini baby ruth and a mini reeses pb pumpkin!  At least they're mini!!

Peanut~ What is P going to be for halloween??  Make sure to take lots of pics and post them on FB or on here!  And take pics of Val's girls too!

Peanut~ I'm still on cloud nine when I think about it!  I keep getting people's pics and just looking through them reminds me of how happy I was that day!  My mom said she's never seen me smile that much before ever!  When I get grumpy at work and don't want to be here, I just open up pics or watch our dancing video and and instantly happy!  I was very calm on my wedding day, everyone else was rushing around and I was just insanely calm and happy!  Like you, not even rain could have spoiled my day (but luckily it didn't rain and it was indoors anyway :P).  We must be two peas in a pod Peanut!

Val~ how are the girls doing in school?  Is S in school yet or just P?  how are things going with dud dad?  House is good?  Ready for halloween?

Anyone carved pumpkins and what are all your kiddos going to be for halloween??!  It's one of my favoritest holiday ever but just no time this year to decorate.  We will head over to D's parents to hand out candy since they live in a development and will have lots of kids and we get none down our little side street.  I do leave some on the front porch in case anyone comes up though but it was all there last year in the end.

Daizy~ hope work slows down for you so you can come chat with us again!

HI EVERYONE!!!!!!  I'm back!!  Oh my gosh what a great time we had!  The wedding went SO well!  There are so many stories to share but overall everything went smoothly and well and it was just perfect!

Quick recap: we drove up to PA on Wed and it was rainy and overcast the entire time and the trees hadn't really turned yet so we were kinda disappointed.  The chance of rain on Sat was 60% but kept going down every time I checked the weather.

On Thursday we ran around getting last minute stuff and waiting for his parents to get there (heaven forbid they turn on their cell phone or call and tell us if they're just leaving or almost there!).  They finally got there just in time for me to leave for my final dress fitting and then we all came back to my house for dinner with my aunt who had come out to help.  Then on Friday the masses descended upon our house with wedding party and family from out of town and friends all over the place!!

The rehearsal went well and then the rehearsal dinner at a local restaurant right on the lake.  D's parents picked up the bill and we all had a nice time.  The boys loved their flasks and the girls liked their matching bracelets.

Saturday morning mom and I got up and went to the salon just the two of us to get our nails done and then an hour later all of my girls showed up to get hair/mani's/pedi's/make-up done (they got to choose what they wanted to get done).  Then we went back to my house to eat lunch and jump in my dress and take some pics at the house and then off to the church where I just stood around waiting!!  I was so excited I couldn't sit down!  Almost everyone was there (148 to be exact) and I got to see friends and family I haven't seen in forever.  The ceremony was great and I did make it through my vows without crying although I did choke up a little!  Then our receiving line and bubbles and pictures at the church.  The weather did shape up and there wasn't a drop of rain and the sun even came out to play!  It was so funny because the ONLY trees that had turned were right next to the waterfall I wanted pictures at which was perfect!

The photographer and dj were great and it was an awesome party!  We did our first dance and no one knew we had taken lessons and they were all just floored and clapping the entire time!  I got through three bites of food before I was full (well, before my dress wouldn't let me eat anymore!) and then it was off to mingle and dance and cut the cake and party!!  Then we stayed at a hotel literally right on the lake downtown and it was beautiful!

His sister only gave me a little bit of drama with her stupid husband.  He dropped her off at the spa and then stayed at the spa!  WTH?  He just stood there chatting with me about nothing until I finally told him that this was my "peaceful" time and he was inturrupting it and he left (I tried to be nice).  So he eventually realized it was going to take hours and left.  So the salon took longer than expected so I was rushing to get back to the house to get dressed and eat before the photographer came at 2 (it was 1:45 and we're still on the road) and she calls to say they're running late and can her husband come to our house with her and "hang out" with us?  I said point blank "no".  I told her I have enough stress and people to take care of I didn't need him in the way.  So she says "well what do you want him to do then?"  I said "i don't care, he's a big boy, he can entertain himself".  And she says "well what are Daniel and the boys up to?"  I said "I have NO idea, call them and find out, I'm too busy for this" and hung up.  I mean seriously, he's 24, he can figure out what to do by himself for two hours!  But if that was my biggest stressor of the day then so be it!

Pictures are on FB, CC gives me trouble uploading pics for some reason!

Peanut~ wow, great job on getting the novel edited and working on it again!!  Good luck finding a publisher and I definitely want to read it as well!  I love reading and just wish I had more time to do it!

Daisy~ Hope things on the job slow down for you!  It snowed in Erie 4 days after my wedding about an inch but melted the next morning!  We usually get an October snow that never sticks (ground isn't frozen yet) and then it won't snow again until around Thanksgiving time if not until Christmas and then it'll snow until April.  I can only imagine how much more you get up there!  Sounds like the leaves were pretty for your ride that weekend though!  I'll jump over to FB tonight and check out your pics!

Val~ A halloween party?  I LOVE halloween but just don't have the time/energy to decorate this year!  I love kid halloween parties, so cute!  Sorry to hear about all the stuff going on with P's real dad, at least she knows she has the best mom ever to make up for a crappy dad.  Hope things get easier for you all soon!

Well gang, back to work, back to the real world.  I have my midterm on Friday afternoon and it's going to SUCK because I have no idea what is going on in that class!!!  Guess I better try and get caught up tonight!

Hi everyone!!  It's probably my last day posting here for a while so I thought i'd come in and say hi!

Time is crawling!!  I should get back to work because that was at least making it go faster but I whatever, eventually.

So anyone else watch The Office?  If not I highly recomment getting it on Netflix and watching it from the beginning.  the first few epis are a little dry but then they really get into their groove and have you rolling on the floor laughing!  I'm SO excited for this week's episode but I won't spoil it for those who don't watch the current season.

Daizy~ I read somewhere that James Franco (villan from Spiderman) is coming to GH in November for two months!  Hmmm, I could stare at him for a while!  I'm all caught up finally but now will be weeks behind.  When I get that far behind I go print off the daily recaps from soaps.com and read because I don't have time to watch epi after epi but i don't want to miss anything!  And of course they're going to bring back Luke and Helena right when i'm going on vacation!  Luke's not my favorite but I love a good Helena storyline (minus the Staveros' cryo-frozen awakening - we'll just pretend that never happened!).  And I just don't like Maxie and Spinelli.  Maxie would be good with Matt but now they're trying to get Lulu and Matt together.  I like Lulu with Dante/Dominic.  Ok, enough GH talk!

Oh my gosh is the day over yet??!!!!!  Someone come in here and chat with me and waste your day away with me!

I'm bouncing off the walls excited and bored to tears and I have work to do and I don't wanna at all!!  I will post pics as soon as I can afterwards but I won't be back until October 24th-ish.  That's when our flight comes in but not sure when I'll be "in" in the head :P

Hey Daizy!!  I hope your week slows down soon!  My day got crazy yesterday afternoon but I just ended up heading home early :P

Car shopping sucks.  It doesn't matter if you know exactly what you want either.  We knew what we wanted and still had a heck of a time deciding and finding what we wanted for a price we could afford.  Good luck with all of that!

I'm sitting at work counting down the hours, blah.

We have fruit flies at my house, ew.  I don't know what caused them but they seem to be multipling.  I googled how to kill them and they said to put some basalmic vinagar and mix ina  few drops of dish detergent.  The smell of the basalmic (or apple cider vin) attracts them and then the dish detergent traps them when they land.  Sure enough we had lots of dead ones this morning but i still saw three or so flying around.  At least it helped.  I hear the life span is only like 10 days so they should be gone soon as long as we keep it clean.

Daizy~ That's sounds like so much fun (the run in Disney) and the run along the coast looks beautiful but looooong!!  You have the right attitude, do it for yourself and focus on finishing in your own time and just enjoying the race!!

Oh, i meant to say in your journal that we already bought the flexipod tripod when we bought the camera which added to my frustration of why he wanted a different tripod but he just wanted more gadgets for the camera.  Oh well, camera for him = shoes for me I guess!

Good morning!!  I e-mailed O the other day and got back very vague answers like "I'm good, we're good" type stuff but over all it sounds like she's loving domestic life with S.

Daizy~ when is your half marathon again?  Where is it, through a park or through a town?  What is your goal time?  You don't have to share your goal time, I hate to because then if I don't meet it I'm the only one who knows that I didn't :P

Peanut~ Wow, 400 people at a wedding is crazy!!  We're looking at the bill for 150 and it's atrocious, 400?!!  I don't even think we have a venue that will seat 400 around here!!

Wedding plans are all pretty much done which kinda sucks because now I'm just waiting for 12 more days and I'm dying!!  I'm about to jump out of my skin excited!  All the girls have their dresses and mine is done just waiting for the final fitting next Thursday.  All of the favors are done, the place cards are being printed and the gifts are rolling in!  A lot of people are shipping them straight to us because they know we can only drive so many presents back to MD!  I think we'll have to leave some of them in PA and my parents can bring them down at Thanksgiving time.  We'll at least open them all on Sunday after the wedding though.  Oh I'm so excited to see my friends too!!  So many people I haven't see in so long, yay!!

I don't have much to say for a journal today so I might skip it unless I feel inspired soon!

Hi ladies!!  First off let me preface by saying that I'm on half a Vicoden right now so I'm kinda floating and silly :P  The doc gave me that to crack my jaw and after he did it went right back to stuck closed so he put me on some mega muscle relaxers when the vic wears off to try and let it un=inflame itself and go back into place.  I had soup for lunch with D

Peanut~ when I first read your entry I was like "just get new make up, what does make up have to do with teaching?"  I imagined you drenched in make up teaching kids and it made me laugh!  Heck, string makes me laugh right now!  Anyway, seriously, you should do whatever you need to to get the ball rolling towards your teaching.  I think it takes a very special person to teach and you would be great!

Daizy~ I just reminded myself to watch the video when I get home because I never think of it at home, only when I'm at work and can't view it.  So I'll see it tonight hopefully.

We have dancing tonight!  Oh and I'm not sure if I told you or not but when D met my dad in TN for NASCAR he got a speeding ticket along the way.  He was on his motorcycle and going pretty fast and the cop was on the other side of the highway, turned around in the median to chase him down.  He gave him a ticket for wreckless driving and basically said thanks for stopping because we all know cops can't catch moto's.  The cop told him he could go to court and the cop would recommend a fine and reduced points as a curtousy for pulling over.  So tomorrow is D's court date (in VA of course) and he's freaking out.  He started reading online how they can take him to mail for a year if the judge is mean and make him pay thousands of dollars.  I told him of course the websites are going to put the maximum worst-case scenerio on there to deterr and scare people but that won't happen.  On his record there is a minor speeding ticket from 2.5 or so years ago and another ticket for when he hydroplaned off the road in the rain and hit a stop sign.  That cop was a b*tch.  So he feels like the stack is already against him and he's so scared right now.  I don't know what to say to help i just told him it will all work out.  He called some lawyers today and they're saying he can get a continuance if he wants for after the wedding but he kinda just wants it over with so that would mean going tomorrow with no lawyer (not enough time).  I don't know what to do!

Good morning ladies!

Daizy~ I'll have to check it out at home, youtube is blocked at work :(.

Peanut~ I hate that too, I go out of my way to choose a treadmill not next to someone (if possible) but it happens to me too.

I have read journals but haven't commented yet, that takes my computer forever it seems like so it just wasn't cooperating today!  Be back later!

Peanut~ nope, never heard of that series but my book realm doesn't expand much beyond murder mystery I must admit!  I need to utilize my library card more.  I mean who reads books twice?  it's pretty silly but I still buy my books.  The only author I really really care about is James Patterson.  As long as I have all of his books then all the others can go.  But it's something easy D's parents can get me for presents.  But all they do is collect dust afterwards and we could really use some shelf cleaning!!

23 days!!!!  I'm geting super excited!!  D was actually showing a little excitement last night too which is good.  He's been pretty doom and gloom lately about the weight situation, the house situation and Relay.  He's a half empty kinda person most of the time but last night was a fun change and we actually practiced our dance in the kitchen while making dinner.

Thank you all for your sage advice!!  I completely agree with everything said so now it's just a matter of trying to explain it to D.  He doesn't have to like it but he has to move on with our lives and not keep dredging up the past.  It's not fair to either one of us.  I could name a time or two when he's hurt me deeply but there's no point.

Daizy~ yes you were correct, he was the event co-chair back in the day but he didn't do too much except for the night of so he really doesnt have a feel for it.  At least that's my opinion.  It's more the time committment.  He doesn't like me spending all of my time away at meetings and such.

Books~ oh I LOVE books!!  I mostly read murder mysteries but try and throw in a classic or an Oprah book every now and then.  Someone suggested that I buy some cheap used books to bring to Italy with me and when I read them on the plane to just leave them at the hotel because they usually have a small library of books like that.

So what's new with everyone else?

Ok, random question of the day, don't ask what made me ask this!

I know you don't fully digest corn, it pretty much comes out as it went it (I know gross).  But what about popcorn?  Do you digest that the same (as in it doesn't digest) or because you changed the physical/chemical state of it does it digest differently?

I agree.  And I'm not totally blameless in it either.  He did say back in the day that he didn't want me making that big of a committment (event chair vs team captain or walker) but I didn't listen which is bad of me but I just felt like I was being called to do it.  I mean he didn't give me any valid reasons why he didn't want me to do it, he just thought my entire focus should be our realtionship which may have ultimately killed our relationship.  I don't like how little I socialize now, imagine if I didn't have Relay, I would seriously shrivel up and die.  So there are two sides to every coin and I guess I wasn't a good enough listener back then to read between the lines but like you said, the past is the past and we need to learn from it and move on.
