Fitness Exercising and Feet Problems Aug 10 2007

The cortisone shots are for the pinched nerve in one of my feet.  He said that I may or may not have to have another shot... and it has helped a lot.  My toes aren't numb all the time like they were before.  He said to prevent the problem from happening I should stop doing what irritated it.  Pretty much it's walking or exercising.  Can't really quit walking on it.  When it gets really irritated, the joint where my toe is attached to my foot (or between it or something) gets inflammed and swollen.  That's painful.  Wearing shoes helps... barefoot makes it worse.

The other sensation that I was talking about when I'm on the elliptical is different though.  It is a weird feeling that's hard to describe.  Kind of like the bottoms of my feet just hurt like I'm putting too much pressure on it.  Okay, I'm 30 and weigh 145ish.  I feel like I'm falling apart!

I can't believe I'm telling the world abou this either, but tania_m is not alone.  I like it fine but have not interest in it... no beta blockers... not on the pill... no other meds... the marriage is fine... and I love my husband.  Man, I hate talking to doctors about that sort of thing... never have and I really don't want to.

Of course counting calories doesn't work... they want $39 out of you! They'll say whatever it takes to do just that.

Why are mother-in-laws like that? Mine constantly does the same thing to me... like we're poor starving people in need of all the junk that they don't want. She won't accept no, so I take it and chunk most of it.

You're only 14!  OMG, enjoy having parents pay for doctor visits, health insurance, a house to live in, power bill, water bill, your car, car insurance, groceries, and the list goes on and on and on.  Once you turn 18 you won't have them to fall back on legally.

Plus, I'd never let my 14 year old daughter move out (although she's not 14 yet) just because I trust her.  There must be more that you're not telling.  Enjoy your parents because parents age and they might not always be around.  That's the mommy in me speaking.

abbeiroad-I'm not sure where you live, but where I live, everyone smokes!  Hell, they make the cigarettes here!  No, I don't know the stats, but to me it seems like 99% of the people here smoke.  I met a woman fom NY at a baseball game recently who randomly told me that she was surprised at the number of people who smoke here and the places that allow them to.  Apparently, there is no smoking in public places there.

I know it's addictive, and I'm not putting anyone down who smokes.  I was just saying that where I live, a lot of people are inconsiderate and don't care if they light one up right next to a newborn.  My dad had lung cancer, so I know how it affects you.

Lastly, my 2 year old daughter and I were almost killed by a drunk driver.

I seriously don't know about good movies... I haven't watched any in a while since we put Netflix on hold to save a little money.  Not that it's much, but every cent counts.

How long have we kept a movie?  From Blockbuster, so long that we had to buy it... several times.  From Netflix, about a month.  :)

I don't really know, but it doesn't seem like you'd gain 4 pounds of muscle in a week.  It could be a number of things.  Womanly things totally screws up our bodies!!!  You'll get there.

cshammas00, I'm actually on your side.  My fingers typed faster than my eyes could read.  I thought it said that Hell's Kitchen was boring.  No way!  I'm not a big Food Network person, although my husband and 6 year old can watch it all day.  :)

I doubt she meant that she "hated" her friends, but more like she hates the fact that they smoke!  The thing is that probably about 99% of smokers don't really think about the non-smokers around them and their children who have no choice but to breathe it in.  Example:  restaurants, sitting in your car, walking down the road, a public event.  I live in the south and it's horrible here... maybe it's just where I live.  People will drive down the road and flick cigarette butts onto your car without hesitation... Anyway, I don't hate these people.  I just hate cigarettes!

I'm sure there are lots of fake mediums out there, but I assure you that the one I went to was not.  After never knowing or seeing a person before and not even knowing their name, how can one describe your family in detail... dead or not?  There were things that I had forgotten or didn't even know that I had to research afterwards.  Also, how do I know that they're not all fraudulant?  Because I have experienced a lot of crazy stuff myself... so go ahead and call me fake too.  Having an opinion is fine, but unless you have experienced it yourself, you wouldn't know.

4.  Never... I don't think.  I've had sleep paralysis.  The last time my son had a night terror, he screamed for an hour with his eyes wide open... we couldn't wake him up, although he was looking around the room but never at me.  He was terrified of me.  Scary.

I did play with a homemade Ouija Board when I was in elementary school and it was a little weird.  I would never do it now because you're inviting any spirit to come "play" with you.  No thanks!  I went to see a psychic medium a few years back and it was amazing... she "talks" to dead people and it was crazy because in a huge room of people, she came straight to us first and I just still can't believe the things she said and the people she described.  No one can tell me that these people are fake.  I've read her books since then and researched some things but have experienced some really crazy things with the more I knew... so needless to say, I stopped it altogether.  It wasn't anything bad or evil, but just a little scary for me and I just want to feel safe and not frightened in my own house.  Seeing shadow people over my bed at night, sleep paralysis (seeing my dead grandmother laying beside me in my bed and me not being able to move or scream), very strange pictures...  Okay, ya'll probably think I'm weird, so I'm going to stop now.  :)

I'm looking at my WW booklet right now and a 2" slice or 1 cup is 1 point.  On the point system, I can only have 20 points a day... so I can eat as much watermelon I want as long as I don't go over the 20 points.

I actually did the calorie count and it said 1400.  That just seems like too much, although don't worry because I usually end up having much more than that.  I think I'll bump it up to 1200 and see how that goes.  I was just curious as to what everyone else was doing but I'm sure it depends on the person.
