Hi folks!

I see that your weigh in day is tomorrow, can I still join?

I'm 22, 5'2', 124...I would LOVE to get down to 110, but think I might just be stuck at 115...

I was on cc for a while, I lost almost 40 pounds last summer, and luckily only gained back 5 pounds or so since I stopped using the site regularly, but I still haven't met my original goal weight, so I guess I'm back on...

In the past the challenges and groups really helped motivate me, so I thought I might give it a try with you all again.

in the past when I've run 5ks i would have a bannana or something quick and easy to settle.  Although I would usually eat before my runs anyway.  I've heard people say that you should do what your body is used to, so if you don't normally eat before morning runs, then don't change it up on race day.

Good luck! Your first race is so fun but overcome nerves...

etlynn: I decided to use the Hal Higdon training...started on Monday so we'll see how it goes.  It's good to hear that you used that program successfully!

sybil: It worries me a bit too, that you're waiting until mid August, can't you try and incorporate your training for the fundraiser walk into your marathon training?  Use walking as your crosstraining maybe?

yesterday i did some running on the tredmill, yikes! i am a runner, but have never stepped on a tredmill, interesting I must say.  Today I stuck to the eliptical.  Next week I start kickboxing and a 'body boot camp' class too...

I try not to tell people I'm still trying to get lower, I've had a pretty dramatic change in appearance already and tehre are people who are bitter about it.  Once a work a girl told me I was too skinny and that I needed to eat a hamburger, so I told, you know I am hungry now so why don't you buy me that burger since you're so 'concerned'.  ha!  My thing is that I am determined to do this through working out, not just cutting cals, becuase I want definition and I want to be able to maintain this lifestyle and not worry about counting all the time

great that i found this forum, exactly what I'm looking for now, i'm 22 5'1" 119 pounds...I also want to loose maybe 5-15 more but ideally tone and develop more muscle definition...Once school starts I plan on doing 2-3 hours a day working out during the week, and 1-2 on the weekend probably giving myself sunday off.  I can't wait to get back into the swing of things, once I have a schedule it is much easier for me.

but i'm going to try and get out there today, it's less stretchy and bleedy and i finally got all the rocks/glass out :)

Motivation have you hit a PLATEAU??? Dec 07 2007

you're not going to want to hear this but i broke my plateau by stopping running this week and not counting my calories.  I think I was definetely underconsuming, because the result was finally a one pound loss.  I also started weight training recently so I may have stalled because of muscle gain though...anyway I plan on getting running again, because i am addicted, but up my calories too...

I'll join, although I need to get down the last 6 pounds, but believe me this last bit has been hard!

I'm 5''1' 121lbs and want to get to around 115, I would be happy though if I build muscle and stay around 120 just looking more toned...

I'm looking to do my first 1/2 in april, so I would love to buddy up.  But I do agree, running is a lot different from the elipitical and plan to spend way more miles actually running than crosstraining.  I'm doing about a 10 minute mile for my 5 mile runs, I can cut it to 9 on my shorter runs and if I am doing the just mile around 8....anyway, My goal is also just to finish without walking, without any time goals...I just started running in July so I think that it would be a reasonable goal

    water water water!

I am a server too and with all the free food around it's hard to say no...i just keep drinking my water so I feel full, because I know I'm not really hungry, it's just habit or I'm bored because it's slow...also keep out of the kitchen, easier not to eat food if you're not around it as much...
