Or it means that you will get your full raise what ever that would be in April after your annv. but it will be prorated back to Febuary. Our company will annouce raises and state that it will be on whatever check in the next month or so and state that it will be prorated as of the date of the announcement. If that makes any sense. I would asked your boss exactly what it means. |

I saw this over the weekend. The movie didn't cause any motion sickness for me, but I did hear that someone else had a problem with that too. Not sure if it was on here or what. I did like the movie and was really into it till it ended, then I was irritated. The ending was the worst. I guess they did that to led into the next one, which is fine as long as the next one is good. |

I have been counting cals and working out since June 4, 07 and haven't seen the scale move much at all. On a good day I am down about 6 pounds. Some days it says I have gained weight and others just a few pounds. I know your frusteration. I have lost inches and I wish that I would have been keeping track of that. I have lost about 4 pant sized and one size in shirts. I don't remember the last night I had fast food. I don't really even crave it. I feel a 100x better then I ever have. Don't give up and try not to focus on what the scale says. If you feeling better and clothes are fitting loser then your on the right track and just focus on that. |

I really need to get measurement tape. My body is changing but in a weird way. It happens every time I work out I bulk up. Everytime, about three months or so in I start looking like a linebacker or a brick wall with boobs and I stop working out. My bra's and underware are too big and I have had to buy new. My tops are starting to fit different, smaller in the arms and I am loosing some of that gross back fat, but my pants are not really getting any looser, they do feel better in the waist I guess, but thru the tights and ass they are tight, tighter then they were when I started. I do more cardo and light weight training for toning so it's not like I am doing the stairstepper or lifting heavy weights. Your right, though. I am feeling better and I am getting healthier and I guess in the end that is what is really important. Being skinny sure would be nice though :( |

OMG, that sounds so disgusting, but I will try it. I will try just about anything. So dumb question. Just heat water, add lemon juice and the dash of cayenne pepper and a drop of lemon? How many oz of water? I normally have a cup of tea or a small glass of diet soda while I am getting ready for work would that need to be eliminated?

I do over estamate the calorie intake. Somethings it is hard to get exact. I have been trying different food combo's lately to try and get the cals down and not get hungry. The frozen pre pack stuff as way to much sodium so I am now trying to avoid those. The workout count seem like it can't be too far off. I do circuit training for 25 minutes then I walk on the treadmill for 5-10 minutes at 3.5 and then I have been working on the elliptical for about 5-10 minutes which works out to be around 450-500 cals, I'm 5 3 and weigh 246. So today I have done alright and I'm not hungry at all and I have had 630 cals so far. I always have a Luna bar and a banana for breakfast, today I ate just half the banana for lunch I have had three wasa crackers, white tuna w/ 1tsp mayo and a half cucumber and a peach, I will have a light yogurt around 330 to keep my energy up for the gym. With the protien being this high today I am feeling pretty good. It is really hard it seems to get enough protien in low cal/low fat food to stay full though. Good idea on the snack on the ride home idea. I am going to try that. I have a long and crappy commute so I can get a little stressed plus if I am stuck in traffic and get hungry I don't have the energy for the gym. Thanks for all the advise. It is very helpfull. I will continue experimenting with my food choices and watch the sodium. Water is huge and I have to do a better job getting the recommended amount in on the weekends. I am going to round up on the food and down for the gym and see if I can get somewhere. Also since I can't really get to the gym more then three days a week I will work on increasing the time I am there to get those burnt cals up. Thanks everyone. This place is awesome, I can vent my frustration and get some totally great advise :) |

Thanks for reading my vent. Sodium is a concern and I have been watching that and have seen it as high as 3500 which is not good. Plus the weekends can be tough and I don't drink as much water as I should on those days. So I spend the week playing catch up. Yes, your right, I should be seeing some loss with a defict but I haven't. I have a defict of at least 350 calories a day so it's not a 1 pound a week but over the last three months it should have been at least 7 pounds but it has only been 2. Where's the other 5?? Just have to keep at it I guess. |

| How depressing. I started on June 4th and I am down 2.2 pounds. Not doing so well. I just cant seem to get the cals low enough. I am working out three times a week and I have completely changed my eating habits and eat a lot of fruit and veggies and lean protien. | |||

| I am with you with the slow paced dieting. I to can't do any type of crash diet. I am consuming around 2000-2100 and would like to get that down to 1800. So far since starting June 4th I have lost 1.2 pounds. I am working out three times a week and have lost inches, so I am seeing progress with that. This is hard but I am determined to make this a life style change rather then any kind of diet. I am 5'3" and 244 pounds right now. So at this rate it will take several years to reach my goal. That's ok, I will get there eventually. My first goal will be 180. Once I get there then I will decide if I want to get down to the 127 cc goal or something in the middle and pick 150. I am about a size 7 at 150 too and felt very comfortable at that weight. Good luck too you!! | |||

| I know how you feel. That number on the scale can be so dissappointing. We work so hard and don't always see the results on teh scale. I really hate my scale and wish that I could take the advise that I see on here all the time, what matters is what you are doing for your health - eating right and working out, and how far you have come and the great achivement you have already made. | For me it says I burn 3489 with 1-3 days of exercise and 3045 with no exercise. This can't be right. CC says for sedetary 1750. I would gain a ton of weight if I eat 3489. This is probably more then what I was eating while not trying to lose weight. | |||

| I am glad I found this thread today. I am in the process of quitting. I was doing really well with the patch and have used it before. The problem with the patch it seems to me is I'm dragging it out, still getting the nicotine, this time I didn't want that. I want to be done. I am tired of smoking, I'm tired of smelling bad, spending my money and having my lungs hurt, I am tired of my sweet 11 year old asking me if I want to die and leave him without a mom(so dramatic). The last few days have been really hard. I have cheated a couple of times but I swear they make me sick.
So to all that have quit, CONGRATS to you, you accomplished an amazing task. To all of us that are trying, we will make it!!! |

| Yes I know all about wanting to give up. I was so upset yesterday and didn't care what I eat. But I am back at it today. I am determine to get this right and not give up. | it was a 2x2 piece and it was commercially prepared, I know there is know way of knowing for sure but I would like to get a good guess so I know where i am for the day and can adjust for dinner and spend a little more time at the gym. | You have totally describe me. I am the same way. I have been on a diet my whole life and have always worked out plus I am a little hyper active so I am also on the go. Rarely do I ever sit in front of the tv or computer and when I do it is for a few minutes at a time then I am up doing something else (ADHD). Anyway I have been logging my calories and activities and been very accurate. According to the numbers I should have lost 1.7 pounds just last week, been doing this for two months, and have not really lost anything. The scale goes up and down by 5 lbs. I have started working out a little hard and have started using weights and I am losing inches but no pounds. I know how you feel. I guess it is about being healthy and fit and not the number on the scale or your pants. But its still frusterating. | |||

| Well I see all these post of people who seem to have amazing self control and can diet and quit smoking which is great but for me this is like hell. Every day I am working on making better choices some days I am fine other not so good. I haven't seem much consitency yet and I am sure that if I keep trying I will. The smoking thing is killing me. I spent the entire day freaking out, skin crawling, not being able to focus and feeling on the verge of a complete break down, I was sure that having a cig would make me feel better and I am sure that it would have but this time I have to do this. So I just had a snickers bar and two cups of tea and finally I feel like I might be able to make it throug the day for at least a few hours. The problem is that I can not turn to food each time I am panic'd for a smoke, I can't turn to a smoke each time and am craving food. Anyway, so far the diet has suffered but I didn't smoke. I guess the question is, is it better to be fat and a non smoker or skinny and smoke? Well as of a few days ago I was a fat smoker, so maybe some day I will be a skinny non smoker. | |||

| I am a smoker who is trying to quit. I started the patch on Saturday. This will be like my 13th time I have tried to quit. I quit once for three month all other attemps have been failure. I am committed to get this right and I hope that this time is it. I am also trying to lose weight which as been a failure as well. I have been at this for two months and haven't lost a pound. I will kept trying. I am logging all my food, working on making better choices and goign to the gym three times a week. I had a cig this morning. I am sitting here right now either wanting to have a cig or candy. I will try not to have either one. I am hoping that this time will be for good and as far as the weight I hope that eventually I will get it right too and be able to keep my calorie intake down enough to finally lose some weight.
Just don't give up! If you slide, just get back and track and tell your self that you can do it. |

| I was diagnosed PCOS and insulin resistance about 5 years ago. I put on a lot of weight and have struggled for the last 5 years to get it off. So far things seem to be going ok. Very slow but ok. I have to keep a very close eye on my carb intake. I know that I have had to much because my head feels like it is stuck in the clouds. I can't think straight or concentrate on anything. I love bread too so it is hard. Trying to find a balance of low carb, high protien and low cal. I have lost 3 pounds since starting on June 4th. I have noticed that protein the fiber really help keep things in check, keep me full for longer and help curb the carb cravings. I have changed to all whole wheat, brown rice and restrict un natural sugar. I also stopped having my period and my doctor put my on birth controll for no other reason but to regulate my period. I have since went of them because I don't need them and for the last year my periods have been pretty regular. In the last year I have also been watching my diet pretty close so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. It is very frustrating. I eat good and excercies and I am still fat. Being here and counting the calories and seeing all the stats in writing has really helped me over the last month. I can actually imagine getting to my goal some day :) | |||

| Reading this thread has help and it nice to see others with the same issues or thought that I have. I started on CC June 2, so here I am a little over a month later and only down three pounds ( I think). I weighted in at 246 on June 2nd but a few days later I weighted 248 stayed there for a while then went down to 246 then the other day I got on the scale it is said 243, but then today it was 245. I'm 5' 3". I have a really hard time keeping the calorie count low. I am doing better and see that I am making progress and making better choices. I just don't see how I can get my calorie count down to 1200-1500. I would feel like I was starving or depriving my self which sets of a chain recation of bad cravings. I guess all of this just takes practice and I need to just keep at it. Congrats to all that have lost. It is hard work. | |||
