Thanks for all the replies guys! Good to know that others have met the same resistance I have! Leeliz- I have talked with my doc and got an inhaler as well. I do really well, until I run. Other types of exercise has not caused any trouble. Good job on doing so well! Ladyduece-It is so interesting to me that you have been a runner (a long distance runner) and are starting off with the c25k program. That definitely shows that I need to take it slow too. WHat was your injury?
Kaila- I agree with the 80/20 statement....The major thing for me is just getting out of bed!! Hi Jenleigh, I am so glad to hear I am normal! It was definitely discouraging that I couldnt breath after one minute of running!! Are you following a plan like C25k or just doing your own thing? I have been running on a treadmill, only cause that way I can measure my progress easier. I havent ran in the past two days, got out of work 3 hours late last night and had to come right back at 0700. I could barely drag myself out of bed after 4 hours of sleep! Are you guys lifting too? I usually go the gym 3 times a week and do weights. Just depends on my work schedule. Thanks so much for the feedback! Case |

I am at work and dying of boredom too!! I have been here since 0900 and have done squat! I havent gone crazy with my eating despite the packages of hostess goodies in the kitchen! |

I love this post! Interesting how our career affects how and what we eat. I am a Flight Nurse on a helicopter (RN). I work one 24 hour and one 12 hour shift a week. Plus overtime, way toooo much OT! I try and pack my lunch and at least have a good idea of what I will eat. BUT, my crew usually has a different idea. On our 24's we go to the grocery and eat dinner as a group. I can usually affect their decision a little and stay away from the bad foods. But, like today, I walk in to our base and there is 4 trays of pre-packaged donuts, rice krispie treats, snowballs and bag of chocolates. So, my first order of business was to cover up the food with towels! My pilot was laughing so hard, but it totally helps me! I am trying so hard to not think about what is under those towels!! Hi all! Day late for weigh in. The worst part is I don't even have a good excuse! I started at the beginning of the month at 157.8 lbs If I can get down to 150 by Dec 31 at midnight that would be awesome! I am in a weight loss challenge with some girls at work and our weigh in is Jan 31. My plan is to eat healthier (I just put the rest of my sugar cookie is the garbage as I am typing!), cardio 4-5 days a week with weights 3 days a week. I too need to decrease the alcohol. I drank Vodka/club sodas last night and they werent that bad. Good luck everyone....thanks for the link to the Shape artilces! Casey |

Welcome to the north west! My hubby and I just moved to Utah a year and a half ago. Last winter was a huge adjustment for us! He is from Montana so he has had better experiences than me! We go up to Montana a lot cause my folks live up there so I know how cold it is! I was worried about the same thing last year and had a tough winter. Skiing is what EVERYONE else does and it is great exercise. I finally folded and bought skis this year. One thing to suggest is to get a good exercise DVD. Something fun, but gives you a good workout. The hip hop dance ones are funny. Make me feel like I have no rhythm (which is pretty accurate!). Good luck during the cold months |

Hi there... Lots of good advice here. I agree with Sha 74...take some measurements. If you are lifting weights a lot of the time that is where you will see your progress. You and I have the same stats.....I am 5'8 158. I was down 5 lbs but then went on vacation. needless to say the extra fruity drinks have now put me right back to 158.! You are doing an awesome job! It is obvious that you are super motivated! If only it was contagious Good luck! |

We have such an awesome group! We are bound to get some great motivation from each other! My big excuse right now for eating poorly is my work schedule. Hate to admit it, but worked 15 hours yesterday and found myself eating the icing off of a donut at lunch time. Not really healthy huh? So I am off today and will do my best! Sounds great, Fridays it is! Thanks for the info on tagging the thread, sure makes it easier to find. My goal is to get down to 145, then see where I am. Been a while since I have been below 150, so i forget what it looks like! What throws you guys off the most? Mine is family coming into town. EVERYTHING revolves around eating. Makes me feel like no one else watches what they eat. Also, vacations over the summer are going to be rough to get through trying to find something good to eat. Not to mention all the yummy martinis I will have to give up! Also, work makes dieting rough. I work 12 and 24 hour shifts. SO hard to plan when people are constantly eating! Hi there! I am glad you asked this question, cause I am having trouble understanding it as well. Do you guys change your burn meter every day according to how active you think you will be? Plus, do you log your exercise into the burn meter too?

I am with you! It was really bad in the beginning with lots of fruits and veggies all at once. What I have done is increased my fiber slowly. But, even after two weeks of CC I still get an upset tummy. Good luck! |
