We had stayed in Stratosphere, which is at the last hotel in the strip. Are you going with friends or spouse? If you are going with spouse, getting a hotel on strip is always a better idea, as it saves the trouble of commuting everyday.

If you start searching now, you will get good deals. Every hotel in the strip has something unique, wherever you stay, you can just roam around the hotels. eg, Bellagio has great fountain show. so this will take most of your time and it's fun. there's madam tussad's too.

Cirque de soliel is a good show, we had been to 3-4 shows, but the best I liked was mamma mia. it's a musical love story based on abba's songs.

I wish I had got the shoes tips :(. I had taken only heels, and first night I walked around the strip, got bad blisters. so had to take a cab every day. it cost something around 12 - 20 bucks depending on where you are going.

if you take walking shoes and are up for walking, then it's better. else, i have seen there are buses too but have never taken them.

Take a small carry on bag around with a water bottle and some dry snacks to keep up your energy while walking.

 have fun!

Happened a couple of days ago...

I was too tired and hungry at the end of day. Was fixing a mexican dinner. Cut the avocado, removed the seed, put the avocado in the trash, and seed nicely on husband's plate.

This happened yesterday...

I was not too tired but distracted by work. Had to come back to office from the gym to collect my things... boots, which I leave here. Came back, picked up the costco list I had been making during the day, then went out. Half way, remembered I didn't collect my boots for which I had come, then went back. Then came back with boots, just at the door, 3 flights down realized I left my card keys on my desk. Then half way up, I remembred the key was in my coat pocket. Then went back, finally...

dalmamalma - Oooooohhh I cannot agree with you enough!!! Where are you from? I am from Seattle. It never snows this much but this year it has been snowing like hell. And when the sun comes out, it turns to ice and freezes over. Every day morning you see a sheet of ice on the roads, grass car...

It's freezing outside all the time. Who complains about global warming??? I think it is global colding happening here!

"I believe she can and will go behind my back to make me look bad to the owner if I find myself on her bad side."

I agree to this statement, at the same time I do not agree to the consequence you think it might have. Since you are also working for the owner directly, he will have his own perception of what type of an employee you are. And if he is a li'l bit rational thinker, he will not blindly go with what bad things your other boss speaks about you. And if he does, then he's not worth working for.

neese, putting my thoughts up... just my suggestion... have an one on one with your boss, maybe go for coffee together - you pay :). Tell him frankly but respectfully what is bothering you, his actions etc. Tell him what will make it better for you. Then ask him if he is okay with what you said or suggested.

Most imprtantl, don't just go with the problem, go with 3 different types of solutions for the problems and suggest these to him.

You may or may not like what I suggested above, and I also don't know what your excat situation is. But most of the time, the people who are creating any type of nuisance or botheration to others are not consciously aware that they are doing it. Having a talk always helps.

I have had my share of "bad" boss. He would assign one person the work which is supposed to be done by 3 persons. Make us slog fo 18 hours a day, calling repeatedly on cell phones if you don't show up on a weekend. Needless to say, most people resigned.

You may find it funny... when I read the title of your post, I was thinking of writing both good and bad about the city I live in... Seattle, but when I read your post, found out that you are moving out of Seattle only :)

Can't say about diversity of things to do but it amazes me how you didn't find a diverese group of people here. I believe Seattle has a large diverse group of people because of Microsoft, Amazon, Boeing etc and people from all over the world stay here due to work.

What I don't like about Seattle is the cold and rain, but now can't wait for the summer and do all the things I love - white water rafting, camping, boating etc.

But my all time fav place is LA - just love it's weather, it's freeways, just the feel of the city in the air. It's so relaxed. Can move there any time, if husband agrees :).

This is certainly a poor management problem. When the hotel confirms the meeting room to the renters and does all the paperwork, why not include a statement like "Food in the breakfast room is ONLY for guests, but available to you with $ amount per person with advance notice".

Or when people go into the breakfast room, check their room keys to confirm if they are guests or not. As a guest, I would not mind being asked to show my key to confirm that I am a guest. I was asked in Las Vegas in a hotel before using the swimming pool.

sundari: How did you choose your login name? Is it your real name ? The reason I ask is" "sundari" is also a hindi (Indian language) word and it means "a beautiful girl".

Back to topic... I don't understand the food in meeting room part. Is it not for people who come to the meetings? If not, then why not put a board with a message like "Food and coffee for .... guests only, Thank you".

I like the chi serum as you can use it for both dry and wet hair, but there are lotsa brands to choose from.

Never made any plans... so it went off just like this (had my b'day yesterday)

Breakfast: Indian chai made with 2% milk and splenda and tea. A piece of chocolate chips and walnut cake I had baked the previous night (no, it's not light).

Lunch: A salad with very light honey mustard dressing.

Evening snack: A piece of my cake ... again.

Dinner: Dined at Sky City restaurant on the top of Space Needle in Seattle. Ate Sea food tri - honey grilled lobster, prawn, scallops, potatoes, broccoli, carrot, cauliflower.  Shared with hubby so portion was small. Dessert - Apple and pear baked and vanilla ice cream - shared. Chocolate martini (no share :)).

So I went overboard you can say...

Mmmm if I can make my point here...

I have done my masters in computers and topped in college and got a scholarship.

I am a software developer by profession.

I have 2 computers at work, 2 laptops at home, carry a windows mobile device always. So I am surrounded my technology.

Please don't tell me to "google" as I am working for a rival search engine, in short I know how to search and can find answer to any question within a jiffy.

But... I am NOT going to search any forums for any questions I ask, reason being:

1. Whatever time I get to come to this site, it is faster and I get smarter answers from people rather than some dumb links and mostly because I never recieved satisfatcory answers in search in this site, maybe the search keywords need to be indexed to add to relevance (sorry techy stuff).

2. I am lazy.

I love Claire, the moderator for recipe forum as any time I post a question for a recipe, she always gives great answers and my recipes have always come out great.

If anybody is "disturbed" by my repeat posts, or anybody else's ignore it and move on.

It is really shameful that a person can say that "her grandma asks silly questions" just because the grandma does not know computers!

Technology has made our lives easier and faster but it also has made some people impateint and arrogant.

The more fruits a tree has, the lower it's branches come down because of it's weight. Similarly, the more knowledge a person gains, the more humble he or she should become.

If anybody thinks that I am starting a "drama" here then go get some popcorn and enjoy :).

sun, I would soooooo love a kitten, in fact I love cats so much that I can keep all the homeless ones. Back in India I had 3 generations of cats, one litter after another and I practically grew up with them. Maybe I should scan and upload their pictures.

But... sad part is my spouse, although likes pets but only from a distance :( He is not at all ok with keeping them at home. Maybe some year I will be able to convince him.

And your shopping spree sounds like mine, we do the same when we go to the mall :) -the picking out clothes part.

Peace, no doubt I would love a cruise:). But again this is a work week, and I am saving my vacations for June.

I am scared of posting pictures. I know all people in this site are in for a cause - to become healthier, but still this site and it's forums are public outside to the site members too. There are thousands of weirdos out there and any one of them can creake a fake profile, then download a picture and do what not with it.

Your letter seems like an example of conflict management presentations I had attended, I do not mean that you are having a conflict, but I really admire the way you are dealing with the sitution and letting your friend know how you feel.

Belive it or not, I read the letter twice before replying, but I havn't read all the replies to your post.

In my lessons, I had learnt 3 parts to deal with a situation is:

1. Let the other person know what is bothering you.

2. Let the other person know what you expect him/her to do so that it does not bother you.

3. Check if it is okay with her/him so that you both come to an agreement.

Your letter does point 1 beautifully, but I would just soften the last few lines like adding a could you please consider my feelings/thoughts/request. Nobody likes to be told what to do and the last line just felt a li'l commanding to me.

I would also remove the "Thank You" and add a more personal touch like Take Care or something else.

And by all means please do send the letter even if it's been years. If she is a true friend she will totally understand.

I come from a different country and am far far away from my friends and family adn really miss them, so I would take your letter approach instead of avoiding or stopping being friends with my old friend.
