I'm a cheese-a-holic, and one of my very favorite recipes is a version of the Alice Springs Chicken from Outback. I add Montreal Chicken seasoning (it's sooooo good--you can get it in the spice aisle of most grocery stores) and then throw the chicken breast on the George foreman. While it cooks, I saute about 1/2 a cup of mushrooms in just nonstick cooking spray. Once the chicken is finished, I top with a tsp of honey mustard (spread thin), then add the mushrooms and melt a slice of fat free cheddar on top. SO SO SO good. I think it comes to about 210 calories with 6 oz. of chicken. If you really want to indulge, use non-fat-free cheese and add a slice of crumbled bacon! |

LOL, Brad. Let me try to piece back together your fantasty for you: Women don't ever poop, nor do we sweat or fart, for that matter. We wake up with our make-up already applied and our hair done. Oh, and when we get together with friends, we have pillow fights in our bras and panties. Better? :) |

Yes--CC accounts for 1,440 minutes a day. If you spend 60 minutes at the gym and log those separately, it only calculates 1,380 at your RMR (resting metabolic rate). It's cool like that ;) |

Hey guys--I just happened across this thread and wanted to say count me in too. Weekends and evenings are definitely when I'm at my weakest (although I HAVE gotten a LOT better than in the past), so any added supports is fantastic! Msmeg--try not to feel self conscious at the gym. Everyone is usually so focused on what they're doing, that no one really cares what YOU are doing, you know? And with that, I'm off to the office gym to sweat all over the elliptical because there's no way I'll make it to the 6:00 spinning class at MY gym. I hate it when my boss keeps me late... Thanks for your endless support guys :) |

I can't say I disliked them because they weren't sweet enough/too bitter. They just seemed waxier than I expected. I'm not opposed to upping the percentage, if the piece of chocolate is worth it ;) |

Blackout, I wish there was an easy answer, but re-entering the "real" world after centering your life around an ED is hard. A lot of times, it's going to feel like you end up taking 2 steps forward followed by a step backward. You just have to tell yourself that IT'S OKAY. ED really does take over your life--it's a form of addiction, and recovering is a very hard and daunting task, but it is not an impossible one. Just take things slowly. Be sure to surround yourself with people who are supportive. As you get closer to new people, be honest with them and reach out to them when you need to. You'd be surprised at how helpful having loving and supportive people around you can be. Look at making and maintaining relationships as part of the healing process. In the meantime, feel free to message me if you need ANY support. |

I use the caramel in coffee. Another strange use that is awesome is to mix a little with eggbeaters and cinnamon as a coating for bread to make low cal caramel french toast. Yum :) |

| Fitness | Running and Yoga as workout routines?? | Feb 13 2008 21:51 (UTC) |

| I'd like to add that running 8 miles/day M-F is TOO much unless you're actually training for something. Even then, you really shouldn't run more than every other day. It's hard on the body and you're just begging for overuse and other injuries. | |||

I guess, technically, I'm considered "thin." I can honestly tell you that I have always had body image issues and, unfortunately, I probably always will. Never in my entire life--not once--have I ever thought, 'well I look better than her." I don't know if this is so much a result of not recognizing that I do look better than some or the result of not caring if I look better than some, but still being completely unhappy with my own body. Did that make sense? |

When you overexercise, you burn muscle which makes it harder to lose weight at all. Plus, you deplete your nutritional stores, open yourself up to athletic injuries, lower your immune system and, let's face it, miss out on having much of a social life. Seriously, I used to be you. I cut back my gym time to 60 minutes a day, 5 days a week, and I've actually lost more weight. |

Doctors are wrong a lot. Honestly, I think people place far too much credence in what they say. Some are better than others, of course, but you simply cannot always take their advice/directions/diagnoses as gospel. The weight charts (and BMI) can be a good guide, but are often wrong for many. My personal trainer, who is insanely muscular, is considered "obese." I am technically considered "underweight" but look fit and healthy because I have a TINY frame. Take it all with a grain of salt and remember that NO ONE knows your body as well as you do. Paige~ you should post the before and after pics. They're motivational for a lot of people and they'll allow YOU to see a difference. I really wish I'd take more pictures on my weight loss journey, so definitely don't be shy about it! |

| Motivation | how to not binge? | Feb 05 2008 21:28 (UTC) |
|
To add to what leopardrayne said: Eat real food. Eat enough food. Eat often. You are on the brink of the binge-restrict cycle. It's usually caused by excessive dieting. You restrict too much, your body literally starts demanding food, you end up binging, and then you restrict even more to "atone" for the binge. And then it repeats. The longer you stay in the cycle, the harder it is to break. Which means, the best possible thing you can do is to start eating enough RIGHT NOW. So what if you binged this morning. Eat normally for the rest of the day. Eat normally tomorrow. And the next day. Don't try to "fix" a binge. I've been there--worst mistake ever. |

You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
