| Sandy; I have the same problem. I just ate a bowl of popcorn and I just finished eating dinner! I will be so mad at myself in the morning. I have a real lack of will power in the evening.

| My goal for the next week is to lose 1.5 lbs. That would finally for the first time in years put me into the (high) 140's. But at least I'd feel that much closer to my final goal.

| I am 5'8" and have a very small frame. I started at 167 and am now at 151. My goal is 135. When I was younger (I'm 48 now) I weighed 125. I am trying to be realistic and am aiming for 135. After losing 16 lbs I feel better already. Only 16 more to go! | |||

| I'm here! I usually check in every morning and every evening. I have really slowed down this last month with my weight loss. But, the good news is I'm not gaining either. Coming here every day helps keep me on track. Last night after dinner I was still so hungry that I nearly got up and started eating again. Instead I went to bed early so I wouldn't eat. I'm so glad I did. Evenings are the hardest time for me, I don't seem to have any will power against my appetite.

| I set little goals for myself like Bonna. My next goal is to get below 150. I don't have a deadline, it's just the next place I want to be. I do have a final goal weight, but I just take it in baby steps. That way I am constantly feeling successful.

| I am in Idaho at a horse show. The temperature here is over 100 degrees. HOT! We've had really late nights so I haven't been able to keep up with everyones posts like I wanted to. No scale here in the hotel I'm in so I have no idea how I'm doing. I've been trying to eat as healthy as I can, but that's hard when you're eating out every meal.

| Donna;
You can do this! Don't let your relapse get you down. We all have times of weakness that we can't seem to fight. Don't worry about what your weight is today, just tell yourself you're going to start again. Keeping track of my calories and what I eat each day really makes a difference for me and keeps me accountable for how much food I eat. (I haven't heard of Slim for Life.) We're all here to support you, I'm glad you shared. Elaine |

| Thanks for the intros Tami and LauraAnn. I too love reading this thread everyday. When I know there are others I'm doing this with, it helps me stay on track. Tami; you and I are very similar. I keep gaining and losing the same 30 lbs too. Each time I take it off, I say never again. Then a few years go by and before I know it, it's back plus a little more. This time has been the absolute hardest to get it off. We're heading off to Idaho today for six days for a horse show. I packed my cooler in the horse trailer so I can go to the grocery store and buy healthy food, rather than eat from the vendors. I have really been stuck at this same weight for about two weeks so I want to be sure and not put any lbs. back on. It's 100 degrees there and we'll be outside the entire time. Maybe I'll sweat some of them off! I'm taking my laptop so I can keep in touch. Elaine |

| Hi Wendy;
Welcome. It is so frustrating how men can lose so quickly. They don't understand why if they can do it, why can't we? There are lots of us here who are all trying to support each other. Also, hi to Debbie, Anan, Nancy, Bonna and Nicole who all introduced themselves today. I love checking in everyday even if I don't always respond. It really helps me stay on track. Elaine |

| I am really frustrated lately. I have been at the same weight for nearly two weeks. I have continued to keep my calories down but no weight loss. I have had a tremendous amount of stress during these last two weeks. Both my husband and son ended up in the emergency room for separate things. (Both will be OK). And one of my horses died. Amazingly I haven't gone off the diet. I thought people lost weight under stress, but I'm not that lucky.

| Good morning everyone! Our thread seems to have dropped way down so I thought I'd try and jumpstart it. Everyone here has been so nice and supportive. We should all introduce ourselves to each other. My name is Elaine and I live in the country outside Seattle. I am nearly 48. I am 5'71/2" and currently 151. I have lost 16.5 lbs and have another 16 to go. Keep up the good work! |

| Goodmorning!
Just wanted to let you all know I'm still out here. I've had one of those weeks where you wake up to a new disaster every morning. I've also been gone the last five days to a horse show. I've been keeping up with everyones posts each day, just haven't had time to join in. Keep up the good work. Elaine |

| Donna: Have you been able to get back to the gym? Don't be too hard on yourself, you actually did go so I wouldn't consider that an excuse. I know you'll get back to your regular schedule.
2phatforgood: Glad you joined us! You are not a loser. Life happens and before we know it we've gained all kinds of weight. If you keep track of what you eat each day it really helps. The calorie counter on this website is really through and it's helped me alot. We're all here to help each other. Elaine |

| Well, I've returned from Disneyland. On the pediometer I have good news and bad news. The good news is I liked it really well. The bad news is I lost it on the airplane on the way there and I only had it for 48 hours. The Amazon site reviews warned that the clip was not good, I should have listened. We had a wonderful time, but as far as watching what I ate, that went out the window right away. I put on 6 lbs in 4 days. (We obviously had a great time!) So now it's back to the grindstone. You would think with all that walking I wouldn't have put that much weight on so quickly. I'm getting back to business so I'll see if I can get it back off. | |||

| Hi everyone. I have been working all day around the house getting ready to leave for our trip tomorrow. I have a pet/housesitter coming so I wanted to leave the house clean. I made myself a list of to-dos and it has taken me all day, but I am finally done so I thought I'd check in. I received my pedometer that I purchased from Amazon yesterday. Doing everyday chores around the house I walked 3 miles today! Amazing. And I didn't even run any errands or go to the market. I am almost back to my pre-birthday celebration weight, but not quite. I am going to have the same problems all weekend since we will have to eat out each meal. I love to eat, and I always clean my plate. That's a problem when you eat out. It's hard to stop when there is more on the plate. I'm taking my computer so I can keep up with everyone. Hope everyone is safe and not affected by the flooding and rain.

| OK, I'm going to vent because I'm just ticked off today. I have been doing this for 5 or 6 weeks now. I have to say I have been nearly perfect in keeping my calories at 1200 a day and I've lost 12 lbs. So yesterday was my daughters 18th birthday and we all went out to dinner. I had a bowl of Sukiyaki, a very small amount of white rice, 2 glasses of water and a piece of birthday cake. I figured just this once. I got on the scale this morning and put on 1.5 (probably more like 2) pounds. I only cheated this once and not by a huge amount. It's just not fair!

| Bonna: I had my gall bladder out when I was 31 and right after giving birth. I wasn't overweight at the time and was told multiple pregnancy hormones will trigger it. I had had three pregnancies in a very short period. Then recently my daughter had hers out when she was 16. That time we were told it was hereditary, so who knows?
Tami: I know how you feel about fatty foods. After 16 years, even now I can barely bring myself to eat pizza. I live in the country outside Seattle at the foot of the Cascade Mountains. I think I'm the only one on the West Coast . Everytime I post or reply I seem to be about three hours behind! Elaine |

| I think I'm a day late, but here's my starting stats:
Weight:155 (down from start of 167.5) Water: 15oz Excercise: none (typical for me!) This is going to be a tough week. 4-H potluck last night, dinner out tonight for my daughters bday, dinner out with friends tomorrow night and we're going to Disneyland on Friday. Hey, at least there I'll get some walking done. Elaine |

| Hi Laura and welcome. Hang in there and don't give up. We all have those days (or sometimes weeks). Congrats on your 10 llbs. My family is the same way about eating anything. I am finding if I watch what I eat during the day I can eat whatever they eat at dinner, but I have to make sure I eat small portions. Stick with us and we can support each other.

| Has anyone seen the list of calories burned doing activities? They have everything on that list. I worked on cleaning out my garage today. Even that was on the list and according to it I burned 212 calories. I have a barn and stall cleaning is on the list. It takes a little extra time each day to do, but it's pretty interesting to see how many calories everyday chores burn. | |||

| Hi Everyone!
I've been eating a salad each day for lunch. At our grocery store we have two brands that are premade. The calories run between 350-450. Between the two brands I have a choice of about 7-8 different kinds of salads. They come with thier own bowl and fork inside. This works great for me every day of the week. I can take them to work, I can take them with me when I drive my daughter to ride (so I don't stop for fast food) and I can find a healthy lunch right away when I'm at home. The calories are on the label so it makes it easy for keeping track of. I don't know about everyone else, but if I have to work too hard to figure out what to eat I go for something easy, which means junk food. I haven't gotten bored with them yet. I've done the prepackaged food diets before (which worked great) but I can't afford to do that again. So, this is kind of the next best thing for me. Elaine |

| Bonna;
I know how you feel about being extra good and nothing happens. I am having that happen a second time right now. The first time I was ready to give up, and then suddenly it passed. Right now I am trying to remind myself that it happened before so this will pass too. Stick with it! Welcome to Laura and Nicole! Elaine |
