hello hello,Just got back from the gym. It is my 5th visit. I LOVE IT. I am up to 25 sit ups (morethen I have done in 20 years). I did 1 1/2 mile on the treadmill and 1 1/2 mile on the bike. Cant believe its only costing me 35.00 dollars a year. I have to say since I had my surgery this summer I have felt great.

Chris do I have renovation stories for you. We started a year ago on 2 bathrooms and the backporch. Well the little bathroom is so close to being done and I mudded and taped the backporch a few weeks back. Now everything is on hold again because of my daughters upcoming wedding. Now I will have to get motivated all over again. If you have any good tips for mudding and taping I could use a few. (we wont talk about the big bathroom).

Hope everyone is having a great time

Beth

Great Advice puppy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beware of the be nice break up get him back have him leave you feel guilty routine. Sometimes the ones playing these games aren't even aware that they are. Its possibly a learned attitude. Been there done that and finally got smart and went so far away from the situation that I ran smack into the best guy in the whole world . Try opening a new door somewhere where he isnt and you might be suprised whats out there waiting for someone just like you. Raise up the expectations for yourself . Personally ,when I decided that I didnt want my life to be a bunch of drama all the time I saw people alot differently. I wanted calm ,comfortable, and well as Dr Phil would say "a soft place to fall". Life is to short to waste

sorry about the lecture

Just got home from the first day at the school gym. It was fun. My friend and I were the only ones there besides the athletic director. It was like having a private gym. Can't wait to  go back again.

Meena next time you go to the movies take a protien bar or something along that line. It will help keep you from having the candy bar. Dont know what to tell you about the popcorn though cause I love movie popcorn.

Have a good day all!!!

HELLO everyone. it has been quite awhile since I have posted. I see a lot of new names and some of the old. Well i havent lost any weight and I am not proud. Kids got me WII fit and I have used it once. Quit my job in May and stayed home with the kids all summer. My husband won me a bike and I have road it a few times. I do love it but the lazy side of me tends to win. The bike has one of the really wide seats and the handle bars are up so i don't have to lean over.

Had some female surgery in July and it has been amazing. First of all no more PERIODS. I also feel like I have more energy. In the last three weeks I finished mudding and sanding the dry wall in the new little bathroom. My daughter and I also painted it. I have also mudded and taped the backporch. (For those of you who remember me and the major remodel we were doing well we are still working. It has been over a year) I still have part of the kitchen to do and the big new bathroom with my wonderful tub in it.. On top of that I started a new job.

Then to add to the fun my daughter is getting married Sept 20th. The bridal shower is Sept 7th and for the most part I am in charge of it because my youngest daughter is the maid of honor.

The school that my kids go to just built a new workout room and anyone in the community can use it four times a week for 35.00 dollars a YEAR. My friend and I went and signed up this morning. Hopefully by having to show up some place I will be better about exercising.

So having said all of that I will probably be back more often. I plan on using cc as my support so you all had better be there for me.LOL.

Hope everyone had a GREAT summer and we will chat later

Hello everybody! Havent posted for awhile so I have gone back and did some reading up. Bonna it was nice to see you back on. Blue eyes I would say drop him. I was in a relationship that the rules seemed to change everyday and it took me five years to give it up. It was nice to get rid of the baggage.

Havent been getting enough exercise. I have had plenty of time since I quit my job. Neither of the kids are working this summer so we have just been hanging out. Finally got my WII fit Tuesday evening but I had female type surgery on Wed so I havent got to try it out yet. It looks like alot of fun.

Hope everyone is having a good summer.
The Lounge What do you think is the best dog breed? Jun 05 2008

Maltese are ok but they are high maintance. You have to brush them alot or their hair gets tangled up in knots. I am a volunteer leader at our local 4H dog club. I see all different kinds of breeds and lots of different personalities. Each and every dog is different regardless of the breed. Labs can be hyber or laid back. Most of the beagles are very happy go lucky but they tend to whine alot for no reason. Golden retrievers are hyper as puppies but are real nice adult dogs. No one has said anything about poodles. I am not a big poodle fan because I like big dogs but poodles are intelligent and don't shed. Shelties are nice dogs too and fall into the catagory of small to medium. Chihauhaus tend to be skittish towards strangers but seem to be very loyal to their owners and are small dogs. I don't think they shed much either. Boxers seem to be fairly inteligent and laidback.

Well thats my input. I have a small yellow lab a golden retriever (who has been old since the day he was born) and a mix that showed up and adopted us. Nice dog but very scared of storms.

Glad to see this question. I have started to add a small amount of jogging into my walk and my goal is to push myself just alittle farther every day. It will be a slow process because I am horribly over weight but I dont think walking alone is going to make the scales moves so I am adding jogging no matter how little.

Lots of great info here. My kids are getting me the WII fit for Mothers day. First we have to find one though. They gave me the dvd that shows all the things that it has and I am looking forward to trying it. We bought DDR for the WII and use it almost everyday so I am hoping to use DDR and WII fit along with my walking everyday.

I had the most amazing day today. I had a doctors appointment this morning in Indianapolis and afterwards I went to the Benjamine Harrison State Park. This park is located right in Indianapolis but when you get in you forget . I hiked around 4 miles by myself. Even did a little bit of jogging. It was a lot harder then my 3 mile road walk because there was alot of up and down but it was still great.

Doctors appointment wasn't so fun. Looks like Im headed for a D&C.

Oh well moving on down the road. Walk on

hello I have been reading everyones post. I am trying to incorporate jogging into my walk. Never thought id be a jogger but i need to step it up so I decided to try it. i am very out of shape but i guess I am kind of following the plan listed at the beginning of the post. Instead of minutes though I use telephone posts. I start out walking probably a halfmile then I get to an area where there are no houses and very little traffic. I then jog from one telelphone post to the next. then I walk to the next one and jog to the next. I jog three sections then keep walking until I turn around and come back to that part of the road. then I repeat the process. yesterday I did manage to jog through two sections walk one and the jog one more. I thought this was pretty good since I am so out of shape and overweight. My goal is to be able to jog most of the 3 miles by the end of the summer. Right now though I only jog in the deserted area of my walk so no one can see me. Too Fat

Hi everyone. Thanks to everyone who has offered their support about my job. I knew I needed to come here because no one judges here. having said that it seems like this has helped to make me more resovled to lose the weight. That and my daughters upcoming wedding in Sept. I know I wont lose as much as I would have liked to by then but that is my own fault.. I figure every pound will help. Well I have been walking 3 miles faithfully  this week and was complaining to my youngest daughter that the walking didnt seem to do anything before and she said maybe I needed to step up to the next level. Well now I am jogging small portions of it. I do a section of my walk (where no one can see me) where I jog fromm one telephone pole to the next and then walk to the next on then I jog to the next one. Today I jogged two telephone poles but it took me two more to get my breath back. Then i made myself jog one more. Yeah for me. Well I need to get outside and help the hubby work o n the fence for my horse. Going to take a small vacation so we have to make sure he is secure. Going camping canoeing and hiking Yes cant wait. Might be the last one with the kids. They are growing so fast. Youngest is going to be 15 next week.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend I am!!!!!!

Kris, thank you so much for you kind and encouraging words. I have read many of your posts over the last year and so many times you seem to know the right thing to say. You echoed so many of the things I keep telling myself but it really helps to have it validated. Especially the part about mourning. That part has really shook me. i never expected to feel that way. The worst part is my dad and i worked together on the same crew and we always traveled together. I will really miss that

I have always tried to believe that when one door shuts another one is opening and that there is a reason for everything.

Thanks again. You are a real special person to take the time to respond.

Going on a mini vacation in a few weeks. Kids hubby and i are going camping. Going to do some canoeing and hiking. Looking forward to the break from reality

Well I am going to go do my walk . See you all later.

Hello everyone, I am an oldie that hasnt postd for awhile. Disappointed to say the weight is the same. I actually came back for some moral support. I quit my job last week and now everyday I just want to sit and cry. It was hard. i worked for this company for 8 years and as I always have i gave this job a 110%. This job is a big corpration and I am or was just a little person in a big ocean. I was lower level management and oversaw about 15 people. I also helped in another area to pick up extra hours. At the beginning of the year I was told to make a choice one job or the other. I chose the other which meant a pay cut. I was told a certain amount at the time I made my decision but when it came time to make the change they made it less. I told them that I didnt want to make the change and wanted to stay with the old job then. Weel needless to say they had already filled my old position and wouldnt let me have it back. (I recomended my replacement). Now my old boss is going around saying that she never said that people in my old position couldnt work the other job too. She has also told people that she couldnt talk to me about it because I refuse to take her calls. I dont even have caller ID so I dont know who is calling when the phone rings. I never have my kids screen my calls because I dont believe in having them lie for me. So anyway after hearing all of this I quit. Now I feel like I am grieving. has anyone ever felt this way?

I do have to say I have done good about not turning to food. i have been walking 3 miles everyday and doing ddr with the kids for at least a 1/2 hour a day.

Well thanks all for listening (or reading) Just needed to vent.

Hello everyone. Ihaven't been on for a while. My computer  struck by lightening around the first of November. I never expected to have that happen. We got a new  dell with vista on it and I am having a hard time figuring everything out.

Haven't done well with the weight loss. Pretty discouraged with myself. i haven't been walking with my friend in a while. Our schedules have been to different and I haven't been doing it by myself either.

One of my dogs has dissapeared and I am missing him alot. We have had him since he was born and he is 4 years old. he is such a loving dog and has great manners since my kids have shown him in 4Hsince he was 4 months old.

I have been offered a new postion at work. Big decision as what to do. Not sure I want the stress.

The bathroom is still not done. The guys did get my tub hooked up though and walls or no walls I had to try it out..

Well that is about it. i hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and is looking forward to the Christmas season I usually love Christmas but i work for Hallmark cards so you can imagine how busy we are right now.

Well I haven't posted in awhile. Don't really have much to say. The scales aren't moving and I am back to alot of my old eating habits. Work has been rough and exhausting. I will be glad when this week is over and the out of town jobs will be done for a while.

Just got back from parent teacher conferences for my youngest son. Same ole same ole. he is so smart and is great to have in class but he really needs to turn in his homework. We ask him every night if he has homework and he tells us he did it at school or he doesn't have any. His math teacher stopped us in the hall way and talked to us about it. He says it's frustrating because he is so smart. His science teacher said the same thing on the teacher comment sheets. His English teacher said even with minimal work he could be an A+ student. How do you motivate someone who doesn't want to be motivated?
Well he is off the basketball team and he just bought the Wii and is now grounded from it. I feel like the meanest mom in the world

Well I guess I had more to say than I thought. Here I am rambling on and on so I will just add one more thing. The bathroom is not done. The little one is operational but my big bathtub sits there everyday-unused Aghhghghg

just plain bumbed out

Well I just finished working 50 hours in 4 days. My boss doesn't think we will get paid for the OT because we are only considered parttime. I hope I can find a new job soon. The only reason we went into OT is because of things that we had no control over (they lost the truck with our new fixtures, items not shipped at all and so on). I work with a really great group of people and I would miss them but there has been way to much crap thrown our way lately.

On a good note one thing I did notice was that with all of the standing and walking and heavy lifting we always do I did not have any back aches and I am not exhausted like I am after even one of our short weeks. I think the walking has helped in that aspect. I just wish it would show itself inweight loss and inches lost too.

I know I haven't gotten near enough water. We are allowed to have bottled water but when you get to working you forget to drink enough. I will have to do better because we have three more weeks of fun filled work coming up. I will survive!!!!

Hello everyone. Bonna a log cabin sounds so cool.Way to go

Kris- there is no date set. My brother and husband are doing the work My brother is here every day working on it but he is a farmer at heart and it is getting close to harvest time for him. He also works with me and we will be out of town two or three days this week. The shower is hooked up and one toilet works but there are still no walls. It is starting to take shape though

Didn't do any hard walking this weekend. I went wedding dress shopping for my oldest daughter Saturday. Found the perfect dress. She looked so beautiful. The lady at the wedding dress place did not want her to try on the dress she bought. She told my daughter that it would make her look disportionet.hmmm. We insisted and it took my breath away. It was the dress for her. We got a dress for my youngest daughter since she is a bridesmaid. They had a clearence section and I pulled out a dress that was the color picked for the wedding and it was the right size and told her to go try it on. She kind of rolled her eyes and said she didn't like it but I insisted. It fit her perfect and everybody fell  in love with it. It cost 39.99. Boy I got off easy on that one.

Todya we met my husbands mother and stepdad and went to a place called wolf park. Saw wolves ,fox, coyotes and bison. It was interesting.

Then the bad part happened. We went out to eat at an all-you-can-eat buffet. Must I say more!

Hope everyone had a great weekend

Well once again i will say Hi to all the newbies. We have really had a lot of new people find us lately. it is great to hear from everone. Boy am I getting frustrated. My friend and I have been walking 3 1/2 miles, 3 to 4 times a week for about a month and a half and the scales aren't moving. She keeps telling me I must be losing inches so today I put on a pair of jeans I haven't worn since spring and they fit just like they did then. I am not going to quit because it feels real good to get out there and move but it is still frustrating.

Remodleing moving along slowly

When I am at home we usually eat our salads without dressing. We have done this for a long time because my husband doesn't like that kind of stuff. When I am out someplace I have them put it on the side and just dip a little on my lettuce. That way I can have what ever I want. I find a little dressing can go a long way
