135.6 this morning.  Hoping to be 134-135 before I leave for vacation next Mon. Should be doable.  I had ice cream last night, too.  But just a little, and I didn't really eat dinner (late lunch)... so didn't affect my calorie "budget" much.

Thanks!  138.8 at monday morning weigh in.  Ugh.  I had tons of crap this weekend though, so that's not terrible.  I'm hoping to drop a couple of lbs over the next  couple of weeks.  Going on vacation the first week in July and I'd like to be comfortable enough to eat a few treats...

Hey!  I'd like to join this party!  I started at 210 the end of June last year, and I hit my goal weight of 140 mid- April this year.  I have gone all the way down to 136, but I fluctuate anywhere between 136 and 139 depending on what I eat for the day.  I usually eat REALLY well during the week and give myself Saturday's off.

Jennifer-- I was told that Dr's scales are not always accurate... and my own Dr. told me that his scale is about 5 lbs higher than "the real world"... hope that helps!!

I haven't "stopped" eating anything completely.  I allow myself to have dessert once or twice a week (within my "calorie budget").  But I'm with you on the eating healthily.  Now, whenever I have a day where I don't eat as healthy (ie. LOTS of cookies and brownies and such), I feel like CRAP the next day!!  Guess my body likes getting the nutrients it needs =).

Yes ! Yes! Yes!  I have been counting calories (not necessarily logging them on here) since the end of June 07.  I have lost over 67 lbs since then...  My weight loss has slowed in the past 2 months, but I am only 2 lbs away from a healthy weight, so that's normal.  I have had at least one "no count" day a month, and I haven't really hit any "plateau" per se, but it has been slower at times.  It definitely works!!!  After almost 9 years of marriage and 2 babies, I am back to my high school size!!! (with a few pregnancy induced changes to my body, of course).

Good luck!

I have been on Yasmin for 5 years (with a baby in between).  I have lost 66 lbs since the end of June 07...

It's all in how determined you are to lose weight.
Weight Loss A week off Feb 29 2008

I wouldn't call it "a week off".  That would imply that this new way of eating is something to take a break from.  I think maintaining is the key.  I did that from Christmas to New Years.  I have lost 65 lbs since the end of June, and I knew the holidays would be tough, so I determined to maintain for that week.  I wasn't unrealistic about losing, so I just watched what I ate and worked out more to make up for the cheesecake and rolls.  Still ate what I wanted and stayed at 153 the whole time!  Enjoy your week!

Your spiritual well being has everything to do with your physical well being.  Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, if the spirit is not right, neither will be the body.  Spiritual warfare has played a large part in my weight loss.  Also, Paul tells us to be encouraging and admonishing one another.  If it weren't for my brothers and sisters in Christ encouraging me along the way, I certainly wouldn't have lost the 60 lbs I've lost!

I eat a small breakfast (200-300 cal) and drink LOTS of water(2 03 3 glasses before each meal).  I also like to snack on a grapefruit about 1 hour before the meal, then I don't eat as much.  Works for me.  I actually lost over Thanksgiving, and I have lost 5 more lbs since then.  I only have 15 left to go, so I am slowing down anyway.  My Christmas goal was 155 and I hit that last week, so I am happy to hold steady at 155 till after Christmas!

I eat Lean Cusine almost EVERYDAY for lunch at work (it makes it easy for calorie counting).  I have lost 54 lbs since June 18th.  I mix it up and eat different kinds, but most of them are great and I have had no trouble with water retention.  Of course, I drink more than 64oz per day.

This is an interesting article.  I am all for lowering risks, however, as the wife of a cancer survivor (who is 27 and was diagnosed at 22) I know that we have to be realistic.  My husband was an athlete, healthy, and young.  Never touched alcohol and never picked up a cigarette.  There are some things that are just not in our control!  Good balanced article...

I work in an office, so I am hungry more from boredom than anything, but I chew gum most of the day to help with hunger pangs.  I also heard that chewing gum can boost your metabolism by 20% (don't know how accurate that is, but it certainly couldn't hurt!).  It's like 3 calories for a piece of gum.

I thought I was the only one too!!  I check at different times of the day.  Sometimes it's even exciting because I know if my weight looks good at night before I go to bed, it will be even better first thing in the morning!  Am I insane or what?!

Just wondering... kay_h,

what is your synthroid dose?  My husband does not have a thyroid (due to thyroid cancer) and he STILL loses weight way faster than I do.  I have been working my butt off (literally lol) to lose 38 lbs in 4 mos, and he has lost almost 30 in less than 2 without even trying!

Just a note about the tooth decay....

I asked my dentist about that because growing up my mom always told me that lemons (I LOVE LEMONS!!- anything sour) would rot my teeth because of the acid.  My dentist told me that if I ate 10 lemons a day for the rest of my life it MIGHT begin to wear the enamel off when I'm 80.
