Hi guys. I just want to vent some frustrations, and this feels like as good a place as any to do so.. I've been totally all over the place lately with my calories. I'll go most of the week keeping it around 1200 and then I'll go out for drinks, or eat half a box of cereal or something else absurd and unnecessary for one or two or three days of the week. I know that it isn't the end of the world, but it is frustrating - I haven't access to a scale any more, but I'd weighed myself at a friends house (after a crazy month where my life was in shambles and I wasn't counting or exercising) and it said I was actually down, so I felt quite proud of myself. But then a week or two later I was at a doctor's office, and I snuck a peak on THEIR scale and it said I weighed about 7 pounds more! So, it seems I was a little premature in congratulating myself... Just now, I looked at my calories for the past 5 weeks or so, and if they're accurate (which they likely aren't - sometimes when I go overboard I stop logging), I've lost MAYBE 1 pound when I could have lost 5. That's irritating. I need to stop coming home at the end of the day and comforting myself with brownies. Now is not the time for me to be developing a baking habit!

Law school is making me crazy. I sincerely don't even feel like myself anymore. :(

I currently have diet coke brownies in the oven - One box fudgy brownie mix (110 cals for 1/16th of the mix), and one cup (not can, cup) diet coke. I made them in cupcake tins, so I've actually got 24 brownies at 73 cals apiece! And I just tried one - super chewy and delicious. Can't taste the coke at all.

I sound like a commercial, but really I'm just pleased because I've been craving chocolate/baked goods for days, and these really hit the spot in a manageable way.

I agree wholeheartedly that there must be an easier way to add multiple items. Love the checkboxes/drag and drop suggestions. C'mon CC, you can make this happen!

Hi Booster! I'm not really in a masters program, but I did just start law school a few weeks ago - equally stressful, perhaps? I know it has definitely presented some challenges for my attempts at a healthy lifestyle. Too many new social situations, new friends who love beer and pizza, and new stressors that are triggering major comfort food cravings. PLUS, I haven't found any time to exercise in the past month. So I think it's going to be a rough ride; any extra motivation and support would go a long way, I think!

Ah! I'm from St. John's, too, so I appreciate the Newfie customs being represented. :]

More on topic, I had my thanksgiving dinner tonight, and, holy, I'm sure it added up to about 2000 cals. More wine than I should have had, and too many dessert 'samples'... but what the hell. It's once a year, and I ate very well during the rest of the day. Tomorrow it's back to carrot sticks, but I don't regret a bite.

Not such great progress... Though I had A&W last night, so my sodium was through the roof. Maybe I can blame water retention!
Also: Actually bothered to measure my height, and realized I am not actually 5'5"... I'm only 5'3.5". LAME!

Weight Loss how do you make sure you do not weigh all the time? Jul 04 2007

I've convinced myself that the scales in my home are unreliable, and so I only use the proper doctor's office one at the gym. :]

Also, I go to the gym with my sister every morning, and she already thinks I'm a bit nuts with my new health kick, so I don't tend to weigh myself in front of her and that limits me to a few weigh-ins a week.

I guess I should say why I posted, haha. Can anyone relate? Have any advice? I think my coworkers will think I'm strange if I don't scarf the cake. haha

I know it's tuesday, but it was a long weekend in Canada, so it's monday to me!

Last week: 142.5

This week: 139.25!

I'm back in the 130s, even if it's only by a little bit. :]

Hello! So sorry I'm a few days late - my mum dragged me to a cabin in the woods all long weekend. So, if it's not to late to add my stats, here they are!

Current weight: 140

Goal weight: 130

Start date: July 1st (shhh, that's what I weighed that day)

I aim to: limit alcohol to one night a week (two MAX); exercise for at least one hour, at least 6 days a week; not let my family's poor food choices influence my own; get outside more and enjoy the limited sunshine that we get here.

My woohoo is that after my first ever week of calorie counting, I've lost 2.5 llbs!

I need feedback and reassurance to stay motivated, so these nice little results are very helpful. I hope it keeps up. :]

Started counting calories last monday and weighed 145. Weighed in today and I'm at 142.5! Yay! I think I need to see concrete results to stick with this, so it's nice to have some right away.
Weight Loss back fat: the bane of my existance Jun 22 2007

I've read that if you have rolls of back fat over your bra, you're wearing the wrong bra band size. I believe it means your bra band is too *large* - not too tight, which you would think. But I could have that wrong.

I think, actually, this is almost correct. Most people assume that when they get the rolls they need to go up a size in band, but in many cases it seems that lengthening the straps (so that the band sits lower around your body, where you're likely slimmer since it's closer to your waist) will solve the problem!

Skinnybecca, I think we're twins! Or quite close, really.

I am 145, looking to get to 130 (and 10k would be a pretty cool accomplishment, now that you mention it..), 22, Female.

I've just joined CC and I'm eager to get a jump start on getting back into shape. I think 10 pounds in a month sounds excellent, but I wonder if it's too ambitious for me? I'm not extremely overweight by any means (I'm 5' 5 and 145, and I only really want to lose about 15-20 lbs total), and this is my first experience with counting calories and exercising really frequently.. I think I can handle the guidelines, but I'm just afraid my body won't want to drop the weight. Did you all find that you were quick to lose with a big lifestyle change, or did it take a while to see results? My half-hearted past efforts have always disappointed me (but that's probably because they were half-hearted, right?).
Anyway, this is probably too far off topic, now. I guess what I mean to say is: if you guys think I can handle it, I'm in!
