Yeah, I can't really remember how I did it either! I keep trying to diet, and it hasn't been working. I think my main problem though is that I haven't been counting calories, but when I lost weight before I was counting calories religiously (and also I think I was more motivated then!). So now I'm trying to log everything I eat. Hopefully it will work!

Hey guys,

I'm a little late but I want to join! I'm 5'4" and weigh 139. From June 2007 to September I went from 149 to 132. I maintained 132 for a few months but then gained 7 pounds back (stress & depression). Now I want to finish losing weight. My goal is 120.

So here is my weigh in:

4/7/08: 139.4

I've been exercising 4 times per week for a few weeks but I haven't been watching what I eat too closely, so I haven't been losing weight. Now I'm going to try to get my eating under control. If anyone has any nutrition / weight loss advice, please let me know!

So I lost a whopping 1 pound for the month! I was happy, though, to see that I was down to 131 this morning. At least it's something.

Great job Grandma Sue and Dacia on the one pound weight loss - that's awesome!

Dacia, I'm fine with having the challenge go until November 2nd. And I definitely think that we should do a holiday challenge... that would help motivate us to not over indulge.

So I just checked and my goal was to be at 127 by November 2nd... but since I've only lost .4 pounds that would be 4.6 pounds that I would need to lose in the next 2 weeks, and that's probably not going to happen. So my new goal will be 130 by November 2nd... just 1.6 pounds.

Hi everyone! It' time for our Friday weigh-in:

So here are my stats for the week... 

October 5: 132
October 12: 132.4
October 19: 131.6
Total loss: 0.4 pounds

So it's not much, but at least it's something. I think that these last 12 pounds are going to be very difficult to lose.

I'd say, figure out how much one piece of cake is, and take 1/10 of that. And that will probably be a very generous estimate.

So I know that all cakes have different nutritional values, but a sara lee white iced cake is 310, so a bite would probably be about 31 calories.

I know what you mean about feeling like I look the same. For me, I think it's because I never really saw myself as large... I always mentally pictured myself as being thinner than I really was (but of course i was shocked when I looked at pictures!). Now that I've lost about 17 pounds, I think that my mental image of myself and my real appearance are more in line!

Hi! I know I'm a little late, but could I still join? I need all of the motivation I can get to lose my last 12 pounds! I'm going to make my goal for this challenge 9.6 pounds, although I ultimately want to get down to 120.

Hi everyone!

Here is my weigh in for Friday:

October 5: 132
October 12: 132.4

So... I haven't lost any weight. But I did go to the gym twice this week, and I plan on going again today. I just need to figure out what I'm doing wrong and try to fix it. I think that I'm going to review my food logs from when I was losing weight, and see what I was doing right then that I'm not doing now. 

Dacia, thank you so much for the motivation! I am going to keep at this and not give up!

So, how is everyone's wedding planning going?

Yeah, I was actually really surprised, because I haven't lost much weight lately... but maybe I'm still losing it, but the scale isn't reflecting my loss! Or something...

Dacia, Thank you for the motivation! It will really help having all of you push me - and I will try my hardest to be as dedicated to this healthy eating / exercise plan as I was when I first started.

As for the final day of the challenge... I'm fine with the 2nd, 9th, or the 16th. We could even push it through the end of November and make it a 2 month holiday challenge. If eveyone wants to extend it, I'm going to adjust my weight goal. Does anyone else have a preference?

Maybe my shape was the reason that I couldn't find bras at VS (before I lost weight), but I tried 36Ds, 38Ds, 36DDs, and nothing fit right. Now I still have trouble finding bras that fit, but it's a bit easier. And I love the clearance rack! I found the one I'm wearing now there for only $12 (and out of the 10 bras I tried on, it was the only one that fit right).

Grandma Sue, thank you for the encouragement! I am getting married June 21, 2008, so my wedding is less than 9 months from now. I think my wedding still being far off makes it a little harder to stay focused, because I still have a while to lose the weight. However, I do want to finish my weightloss early, so that I don't have to worry about it as much when it closer to the wedding date (also, I want to reach my target weight by the time of my dress fitting). 

As for my first weigh-in:

I am 5'4" and weigh 132 as of this morning. Since June, I have lost 17 pounds, and I want to lose 12 more. My weight loss goal for the month of October will be 5 pounds. I hope I can do this!!! By the way, I think that the last day for this challenge should be Nov. 2 so that we have a full 4 weeks.

October 5: 132

November 2 goal weight: 127

I kind of have the opposite problem... I want mine to get much smaller. I'm 5'4", currently weight 132, and I wear a 36D. Before I lost about 20 pounds, I couldn't even fit into bras at Victoria's Secret, because the D's were too small. And I really wanted to just buy new bras. Since I've lost weight, luckily I can now fit into a select few bras at VS, but my options are limited. The good thing about having a smaller chest is that you can wear the sexy lace bras. Also, I think that having a large chest makes me appear heavier overall.

Sarah, if you have large shoulders, you may be an inverted triangle (I'm not sure if that's the real name... but I saw a drawing of it somewhere!)Anyway, I would say that I'm an apple... which is especially obvious when I look at pictures of me before I lost about 17 pounds... all of my weightloss has come from my stomach and chest.

My sister goes to USC too - the gym is awesome! Anyway, I'm a senior in college, and my life is actually so hectic right now that I basically don't have any time to do things other than go to class and do school work (yes, I'm slacking right now!) So I haven't been exercising either.

But I would say, if possible, move on campus or closer to school. It will save you time and make school a lot more fun. I live only 20 minutes from my campus, but I'm moving closer because even the drive as it is now is a hassle.

Hey everyone,

I'm 5'4"

Highest weight: 153 (about 1.5 years ago)

Lowest: 109 (sophomore year in high school - took dieting too far)

Current: 132.

My goal is 120 for my wedding in June, but hopefully I will reach my goal a few months before then for my dress fitting.

Hey everyone!

I'm back to try this weight loss thing again! I know, I really slacked last time. Could you all please try to motivate me to lose weight? I've been really stressed lately because I'm in my senior year of college (yes, I'm young)... and on top of my difficult classes that give me absolutely no free time, I'm trying to get into grad school to get my PhD in clinical psychology (which entails countless hours of work - GREs, personal statements, and so forth). So I don't have much free time right now, and I've been neglecting my diet and exercise.  But I really want to get back on track! Luckily, I've maintained my weight loss from earlier in the summer when I was still motivated (15 pounds) + 2 more that have come off very slowly since then. Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. 

Thanks, and I'll weigh in tomorrow.

Hey everyone. Well, I'm not surprised that I didn't lose weight, because my diet has been all over the place. I'm just happy that I didn't gain! Well, I am going to try really hard to get on track. Hey everyone! I'm back for the new challenge. Dacia, thanks for letting me know - I checked a couple days ago and wasn't sure if there was going to be another brides challenge.
Cupidsvictim, congrats on getting engaged and welcome to our group!
Well, my wedding date is set for June 21, so I still have a while to reach my goal. I'm hoping to lose 14 more pounds before the wedding (I've lost 15 so far). My weight loss has been very slow as of late... I probably couldn't give an accurate amount per week because my weight has been fluctuating, but I would say that it has been 1 pound per week or less.
Allright, I will post my weigh in tomorrow. Talk to everyone then!

I actually already bought my dress. About a month ago I decided to go dress shopping just for fun and to get some ideas about what I might want, and I ended up finding a dress that I loved. I was going to wait and think about it for a while, but it was on sale so I bought it! They told me it would arrive in 4 months, so I was shocked when they called me after 2 weeks and it was in. So now it's hanging in my parent's closet. I'm very glad that I bought it early because now I don't have to worry about it coming in late. Now all I have to do is get it altered a couple months before the wedding.

Wow, 6 pounds! My weight seems to fluctuate a lot, but this shows that I'm still losing weight! I almost reached my goal for this month, and I think that I'm going to set smaller, more reasonable goals in the future. Congrats to everyone, and Grandma Sue, your weight loss is fantastic!
Now that I have this week's loss to motivate me, I'm going to try and stay on track. Just 14 pounds to go.
