| I think it is generally physical appearance as a whole. I could, possibly, do a whole PhD thesis on the public's social interactions based completely on hair color of an individual. And yes. I have found that people talk to me much slower when my hair is blonde. It's rather disconcerting. |

| Also, store your medication in the fridge. It will work a bit longer than the expiration date.
But it wont hurt you. It isn't like spoiled food. |

| Jbashford... WOW. Kudos to you to be able to admit what you just did! I understand where you are coming from as I to have a similar issue. I am slightly shorter than you and about 10lb heavier but I grew up weighing 110 without looking sickly. It is a shock, that's for sure. At first (5 years prior) I did nothing but moan and gripe about my weight gain in which others also told me I looked great. During those years I only weighed 125 max. Now I am around 130 and feel horribly overweight. Logically I know that I am not. Logically I know that I am thin although squishy in areas. Furthermore, my worry over the weight gain was also due to an overactive imagination that my significant other (at the time) would find me unappealing. So I hear you... I feel you. As far as help: The best thing you can do is continue the track you are on. Your eating and exercise habits sound reasonable, if not beyond into greatness. I am not sure of your age, but I know as soon as I hit 22 I started to fill out in areas I was lacking in previously (i.e. I have a butt now!). These areas add to my weight gain but are rather appealing regardless. Due to this I am only aiming to lose 5-10lbs knowing that a 110lb weight is now unhealthy for me. So keep that in mind. Make sure that the 3 extra pounds isn't in areas that are filling out, giving you a more appealing, womanly shape. Also, if you are a college student, check with your university. Some universities offer free counseling for issues such as body image. I consider myself a VERY stable person yet I sought help just recently as I realized that my small weight gain was ruling my inner thoughts. Try not to get to that point and if you have, seek out someone to listen. Someone objective as we females just tend to stubbornly fight the subjective "you look great" from our significant others :P Lastly, don't attempt to lose weight for a guy!! No matter how much you love him!! Love yourself. If this is what you want to do, do it for yourself. Not to impress a boy. You can also look at it this way... if he didn't love you, the way you are, he would have found something already to pick apart. The fact that he hasn't should show you that he loves you for you (and yes, even those 3 pounds!) I hope this helped. Like I said, I know where you are coming from all too well. Feel free to email me if you need someone with a similar issue to listen. |

| I think that is why this is the 10-15lb thread. It deals with those last few lbs we want to lose... not with serious weight loss. I will admit that I am not overweight; however, there are a few pounds that I would like to shed to feel better about myself. The weight I would lose would not leave me unhealthy and furthermore, I know what the ideal weight is where my body looks slim but not sickly. Please, please, please do not judge us. It doesn't benefit anyone. |

| Greetings, I would like to partake in this thread so here is my following information: 5'5-5'6, 130lbs. Would like to get back down to 120 if possible. My goals are the following: 1. To lose those last 5-10lbs before November 11th 2. Water Goal: Drink much more 3. Exercise Goal: Increase considerably 4. Gain a better self perception of myself. To Answer the questions: 1. My motivation for this is A. To increase my self-esteem B. To get back in shape in order to participate in a couple upcoming 5Ks C. To increase my health levels so they are not a large issue as I get older 2. I LOVE spicy foods 3. I decide my meals throughout the day without any pre-planning. I tend to devise my meals depending on what I feel like eating during the morning hours (which for the most part is fruit and vegetables) and how many calories I have left to spare around dinner time. Lunch is usually where I splurge the most! 4. I do not have an official weigh in date. I am thinking about making one (possibly Mondays) in order to control the obsessive-couple-times-a-day weigh ins I have a habit of. I look forward to meeting everyone and hearing their stories! |

| Oooo. Depo! I'm not a fan. I went on the shot for ~2years, gained weight, and lost any bit of a sex drive. Furthermore, I do HIV research and can only hint at the havoc Depo does to the reproductive tract epithelium... Mind you, it's in monkeys but humans really are not that far apart (put it this way: They give monkeys a dose of Depo in order to increase HIV/SIV acquisition!) But not the point... When I got off depo I noticed that after a couple of months I had less moodiness (mind you, I really wasn't very moody to begin with), increased sex drive, AND I started to slowly lose the weight that I had gained from the shot (with a proper, nutritious diet included of course). It took about 4 months for my cycle to come back as well. Hope this helped! |

Congrats Tigzy! Keep up the good work. I have found that these ten pounds are such the pain to keep off! And I'm all about the Monday weigh in! |

| I have DDR for the PS2. It is actually a decent workout. It builds up a sweat and you tend to forget that you are actually exercising! One point of advice: Don't get frustrated in the beginning. It may take awhile to get the steps down. Just keep at it and eventually you will pick it up no problem! I have managed to lose a few pounds with it but I do not play it religiously. Also, double sided tape works well to keep it slipping on carpet. Just make sure not to get the good kind that will rip out your carpet :) HAVE FUN! |

I will not post, due to tastelessness... BUT.. I would have to say my favorite is the multiple stab wounds to monkeys video. If you are easily offended it would not be a wise choice to google this. If you are not offended easily: Have at it! |

| Fruit, Fruit, Fruit!
I also have hypoglycemia.... I avoid simple sugars though. I find they cause me to crash and burn (although I wont pass up the pixie stiX when I get really dizzy). Personally I have found that spreading my meals out throughout the day and eating a large number of starches (even non-wheats like POTATOES) and fruit (which you can do 100 percent!) helps considerably. Fruit will also fill you up with the fiber it contains. Also, for lethargy take a Vitamin B complex. I have found it helps with that constant tiredness. And remember, if you start to develop the neuroglycopenic manifestations.... eat something! I can usually tell because I get the "glassy look". Hope this helps. Good luck. I know how hard it can be to keep track of your calories and avoid the dizziness. |

| I am right there with you. My height and weight is right there with yours...and when I was your age and younger I also weighed 105lb and didnt look underweight (oh... how I miss HS years!). My body type is about the same as I also used to dance along with swim and fence.
Although I am bad at taking my own advice... talk to people. I have noticed that I view myself overweight and flabby while others do not. Supposedly 125lbs is healthy for us (although I view myself the same as you view yourself). Although I am older... if you need a buddy feel free to email me on this site. I can give you my personal email address also if you are interested. PS. Sorry to hear about your mother. |

| Argh! Club diets! I know that one too well. Being an industrial nut I make sure that I dance for at least an hour if I have to eat out beforehand (or plan on afterwards). The fast-tempo music is great for a workout.
And yes. I also have a night time problem... to the point where I have been caught snacking in my sleep. I now have to keep things out of my immediate reach (i.e. in the highest places). MmmmMM Brie. Try laughing cow. It's great on crackers. |

Other than a bad tattoo (either design or bad artist) Old school design is the only thing that doesn't fit most women (IMO) |

| I use the Acuvue 2 and the Freshlook. I honestly think that the Acuvue 2 is better for people with lighter eyes (i.e. the blue look great on me, but I already have blue eyes) and the Freshlook for people with darker eyes (I have the purple color... It makes my eyes look almost yellow. It's a neat effect, but it doesn't match my hair as I wanted. On those with darker eyes it adds the desired color).
Hope this helped. |
