im probably annoying you guys with this again.  When I first started losing on cc over a year ago, each morning i weighed i was .2 or .3 pounds down...now its really sparatic.  ive been zig zagging not to get stuck again and i ended up gaining 2 pounds!  so disheartening!  it has never been like this before.

i dont really know how long you have been on cc losing, but it could be due to the fact that the water you are drinking is flushing out all of the dirt, bacteria, and toxins out of your skin.  I went through that for about a month or so and my skin cleared up fantastically.  Even my nails aren't thin and brittle anymore...

well, i have lost 50 pounds using cc for the last year and half or so.  im just now trying to get past this point in my life where i have been stuck in the high 180's after reaching my lowest of 170.  my ulitmate goal is 150.  I actually weighed in this morning at 182, so hopefully that small lasting plateau will be my last.

well im sorta impatient...besides, i went back today eating my 1400 so im zig and zagging a little...maybe that will help.  it's just that overnight, i would lose like 1.5 pounds for a few days and then all of a sudden nothing...shouldnt it be more consistant??

Ok, I didnt know if you saw my edited post or not, but i'll post again with my current weight of 173.8.  I'm doing really good on my water.  Remember though, that if you drink coffee, you have to drink twice the ounces of the coffee back in water, PLUS what you usually drink.

I wanna join in!Since August, I've lost 45 pounds, I have around 20 more to go...absolutely no weight loss in the past 5 months, which is mostly my fault.  But I should congradulate myself on not gaining it all back, just 5 pounds.

CW-175, 5'6".

I'll be back on Friday to tell you how much I lost!  Why did I eat 3000 cals today????CryYell

I'm 5'6" also, and when I was your weight, I was eating around 1500 cals a day and losing, with less activity than you have.  I would greatly suggest finding out your BMR is and eating at least that amount.

With the amount of exercise you do, your body will feel better, you'll have more energy, and you'll still lose weight.

Fitness Body for Life Weight Routine Apr 02 2008

Its pretty basic.  Each 45 minute session focuses either on your lower or upper body muscle groups.  The upper body is biceps, triceps, back, shoulders, and chest.  The lower body workout is quads, hams, abs, and calves.  Each muscle group gets decreasing sets of 12,10,8, and 6 reps (of whatever exercise you choose that targets the area), with 1 minute rests in between, while increasing the weight with each set, then basically 24 reps at the "end" of the muscle group.

It's pretty intense, thats why I like it.  I have lower body tomorrow, so I was wondering if it would matter if I did the quads and hams in the morning and the calves and abs at night, for instance.

There is also a 20 minute cardio thats done the other 3 days a week (you rest 1 day) and i do that in the morning.

Heres an example:

Mon-upper body

Tues-cardio

Wed-lower body

Thurs-cardio

Fri-upper body

Sat-cardio

Sun-rest

Mon-lower body

Etc....

Weight Loss 1200 is the minimum, but it ain't mine! Mar 28 2008

Well, I do have history of iron-deficiency anemia, but I havent had any blood tests for that in years.  I also have history of gastroparesis, which causes my stomach to burn a lot because of the excess acid.  That has been acting up too the last few weeks because i've been laying down after I eat (unintentionally).  I was eating my maintenace the last few days, but now I have to eat my special gastroparesis diet, which consists of fasting for the first three days, and then low-fat, low-fiber foods after that (I'm not looking forward to it, now that I know the whole calorie/starvation mode thing).

One of my friends is losing weight too and I was telling her last night that I was going to take a break for about a month because i've been getting dizzy on just my 1200 calories.  She's like, "Oh no! You cant do that!  What do you mean 'take a break'?  I would gain all my weight back if I did that!"  I was thinking to myself, 'well, then what do you expect to do when you reach your goal weight...?'  But anyway, that was just a side note.  It's weird sometimes when you are losing weight everyone puts you under a microscope and they dont even know the whole story.

I eat breakfast around 7. I get a break at ten and i eat. Lunch is at twelve. I eat again on my break at 3. Dinner is usually around 6 and i eat my last meal at 8 or 9. Ive been trying not to eat much refined carbs and sugars and more lean proteins and whole grains with my meals. I dont have health insurance so its gonna be hard to save up money to have some tests done.

So im at work right now. Ive had about 1100 cals so far today, which is a lot more than usual. But im getting that faint feeling again. Its always when two oclock hits. Ive been taking my iron last few days. So what is going on? Do i just need to give myself some more time?

I recently had my TTOM and I enjoyed eating my maintenance (ok, maybe a few cals over that too...Embarassed) the whole week.

It's crazy though...I still managed to lose 2 pounds, where "normally", I only lose about 1.5 pounds a week.

Maybe 100, at the most, depending on the size of the slice.  When I get Little Caesars, I always seem to get a pizza that has been unevenly cut.

I have three "meals" at 300 cals each and three "snacks" at 100 cals each.  hat givves me 1200.

Breakfast is usually cereal and some fruit

My snacks are mostly 100 snack packs or special K bars.

My Lunch and dinner usually consists of a sandwich or anything my mom made for that night...

I dont really have that much of an appettie tob egin with, but if I am straving for one day, I'll either just eat my maintenace or eat popcorn/jello, etc. to fill me up w/o going over.

a little bit of dark chocolate every once in a while is actually good for you.

Calorie counting doesn't limit you to only a certain list of foods you can eat.  There are no "good" and "bad" foods, just "good' and "bad" lifestyle choices.  Peanut butter is a good alternative also.

I dont know why, but I always tend to eat "better" on the weekends...Maybe bc ppl (sorry, Im I forget im typing not texting, lol) at work always have cookies and stuff laying around that they want me to have.  So, instead of having 400 cals left over for dinnner when I get home I have like 200, which seams daunting...so I end up going over. Bad Christina! Bad!

Maybe you should eat more calorie dense foods that will get you up to 1200, wihtout making you stuffed for the day. (i.e. instead of eating a whole bag of popcorn, eat some chocolate.)
Weight Loss advice please! Mar 13 2008
00:53 (UTC)
Well, based on your stats, you burn around 2300 cals a day...Meaning, if you want to lose 2 pounds a week, you can eat 1300 cals a day.  Alternating cals is also called zigzagging and prevents plateauing. (I can never spell that!).  Basically, you take the average of 1300 cals a days spread over the 7 day week. If you have 1200 cals for 6 days, then one day a week you can have 1900...or something like that.  Technically, with zig-zagging, you don't eat the same amount two days in a row...But you can alternate if you want.  A lot of us have "free days" where we eating our maintenance one or two days a week, just to curb some cravings.

I love cough drops.  I like the ricola ones because they aren't overpowering or really "medicated".  Plus, they're calorie free.  sucking on those at work really helps me.  I dont work in arestaurant but i do work with coworkers who have stocks of chocolate and cookies in their desks and are always trying to push them towards other people.  If i choose to take one, i have a bite...drink some water...then pop in a cough drop...it usually takes me about an hour to eat that one cookie that way.

If you burn 500 cals a day at the gym, you need to eat at least 1700 cals a day if you are female, 2000 cals a day if you are a male, minimum...PERIOD.  If you are not willing to do this, then you aren't ready to lose weight.  you need to educate yourself more before you do something than can damage your body for the rest of your life.  You only have one body to have your whole life...take care of it...please...
