| i had to add 1 more... i was at the fair yesterday, and this poor woman got onto a ride. She was considerably overweight, and I could see the ride operator and his assistant exchange looks. Well, the woman got a little stuck getting into the ride, but with help from the assistant, resolved that. He then tried to lower the safety bar, and couldn't quite get it down over her. He had to ask her to sort of smoosh and lift up her breasts while he "hooked" the safety bar between her breasts and tummy. They were both embarrassed and feeling awkward. My heart went out, as did the calorie count website. I hope I see her on here....
I have noticed that people seem grateful, rather than embarrassed, when I share with them this awesome website... |

| kumi, try to take the situation and change it to your advantage. do you like to read? are you going to college? find things to do that you enjoy, and that will benefit you while you are in your room. maybe you can find a way to enjoy your time alone, and even to look forward to it, and then it won't feel like such a prison. discover which things you are good at, do you like to write? i wrote and wrote and wrote when i was in a situation similar to yours.... got to the point that i really looked forward to writing. helped me to tune other things out. you are 17, not such a really long time to wait. spend time planning what you will do next. something to look forward to. | |||

| ok, i know it's tuesday, not friday. we are out of town almost every weekend this month, making it hard to spend ANY time on the computer... sorry for not posting last week. my total for last week was 3, and 3 so far for this week, but by friday i will be able to add 2 more, (i lay my clothes out the night before, and it never fails... "interesting bra and undies on top of the pile and my hubby cannot stop thinking about sex all day!) hee hee.... so add 8 for me for these 2 weeks, as i will not be able to post on friday again... also, i am losing the pounds steadily, and i am surprised because i haven't had the time to enter my food/calories and have been eating like crazy with all the activity going on! fattening foods too! i AM skipping beef though, because eating that seems to delay anything. i guess the "intimacy" must be burning more calories! | |||

| Weight Loss | Water loss during sleep? | Aug 07 2007 20:04 (UTC) |
|
| here is something that i just read...
FIRST magazine, for women on the go...August 20,02007 : It is a lengthy article on the benefits of drinking water throughout the day, and alternating the temperatures of the water. Hot water: triggers a body-wide detox. Toxin levels rise in your body and are stored in the liver, lymph system, intestines and skin. They claim that this can slow your metabolism, and that flooding your GI tract with heat, promoting peristalsis, can aid in ridding the body of these toxins more quickly. Hot water also makes pores open slightly, allowing toxins in skin to evaporate. Lukewarm water: suppresses appetite. Expands the stomach lining, sending a message to your brain that turns off hunger pangs. The fact that is lukewarm makes it easier to down an entire glass before a meal. Cold water: gives your body a workout. As we all know, our bodies have to heat up the cold water we drink. This article claims that your metabolic rate jumps by as much as 3 percent within 10 minutes of finishing a glass of cold water, and stays elevated for 30 mins. Suggestion: (from article) 1. start the day with 8oz of of boiling water poured into fresh squeezed lemon juice and tsp. of grated lemon zest. 2. Alternate steamy and icy water throughout the day, between meals. 3. Drink lukewarm water (8oz) 15 mins before a meal. water benefits us in many ways, why not take advantage of all? read the article for all of the details... |

I hate when it's really hot outside, and the thighs rub painfully together, or when they cause your shorts to bunch.. I HATE that!!!! the other thing is when you have to pay for a pedicure because it is just too darned uncomfortable to reach your toenails! |

| awesome stories! It's good to read the stories of other people with similar experiences. I find myself nodding and saying "yeah, me too!" It's just nice to identify with others.
tlm1242, that is hard to hear from a loved one, but how nice that you and your son have enough love and security in your relationship that he can be honest with you. I bet he's a great kid. I have another story.... my 4 year old still goes to sleep every night in my arms, and one night I had my arm in a funny position. He sat up, looked at my arm and said "where's my pillow?" I'm like, huh?? He turned my arm, patted the fat, and nestled his head in. Yup... time to lose weight! |

| ouch is right humorpam. Good job for taking that info and making a difference in your life.
too funny going2lose!!! reminds me of another story... a friend of mine, really, a friend, not me, was at the mall and bought a (i think 4) pack of cinnabon. If anyone doesn't know what a cinnabon is, they are ooey gooey yummy cinnamon rolls, fresh baked with lots of frosting... So, this friend was on her way home and decided that since there was 1 extra in the box, and she couldn't wait to get home, she would just go ahead and eat the extra one. she did, and it was sooooo good, that she thought she would also eat her's too. Well. She could hardly go home to her husband and teenage son with a half a box missing, they would think she was a pig!! You guessed it, she ate the other two! Out of necessity, of course. |

| light bulb goes on...
here's an idea for the single people out there.... or the married too, for that matter, the perfect way to burn more calories during an encounter... talk to your significant other on your cell phone while jogging or rollerblading AND while using some sort of "strap on" device... and there you go... 800 calorie encounters! |

| Your body needs some amount of fat on it to regulate it's temperature, and to cusion and protect. It sounds like you are doing a little bit of cardio, but not alot of muscle toning. Also, realize that breasts are fatty tissue, if you get rid of the fat, the breasts go too. I am only 1 inch taller than you and used to fluctuate between 95 and 115. SERIOUSLY underweight. I bruised laying on the floor, because there was very little fat to cushion. I had very small breasts. My tummy often felt bloated, that was because when I ate, there was no where else to go but out. I still saw fat when I looked into the mirror. It wasn't until I saw a picture of myself that I realized how sick I looked. As I gained weight and became curvier (125 pounds), I couldn't believe how many compliments that I received, and how often men hit on me (which was important to me then). Way more than when I was stick thin. I think people always thought that I was sick. Unfortunately, we cannot decide where the weight comes off, and where it stays. Like some of the other posts have mentioned, gaining weight and then toning your muscle may be the only way to balance your body. The rest is up to genetics! | |||
