Still maintaining at 254.  The past few weeks I have been extremely busy, had eaten a lot more fast food than normal and hadn't gotten much sleep.  I'm starting to get back on track so we'll see.

Back on track - 254 for me today ... I had set a goal of 250 by the end of April so it is within reach but I'll have to be diligent.

258 this morning.  Getting back on track although this week has been rough due to quite a few family functions (2 birthday dinners and 2 dinners out ... ugh).

I was hoping to get down to 250 by the end of April but seems like a longshot now.  My only hope is to stay on track and hope that I can get there - if not, there is always May.

the healthiest item at subway is the oven roasted chicken on whole wheat--hold the cheese...get lots of veggies on it and the sweet onion sauce, as it has the least fat & calories of all their sauces. for the 6-inch it's: 300 calories, 5 grams of fat, 47 carbs, 22 protein & 4 fibre.

i had one yesterday and it was deelish ! Laughing

That's what I get as well - except I just get a little vinegar instead of the sweet onion teriyaki.  Not my absolute favorite thing for lunch but it isn't a bad sub and convenient since Subway seems to be everywhere.

I had a bit of a bounce back. I lost some weight very quickly because I was sick and so I started eating regularly and even had a couple of off days so I bounced back up.  I'm at 260 today but hopefully can get back down to 256 soon.

256 today ... I am surprised by the large amount of loss over the past 2 weeks.  But I've been sick so that has likely helped.

I'm not going to lose 30 pounds in 3 months - but I'm happy for the results I have had.  I just need to get more diligent on exercise ... story of my life.

I assume we are bumbing up Weigh in to Tue April 1st just to keep things clean for the AFC.

I hope we stick to Wednesday - although it will be a day late it can also be the official weigh in for J4C.  Plus, our first official weigh in was Jan 2.

Is it possible you're less sedentary than you think?

It's possible but I doubt that I am off over 1000 calories a day.  I work in an office all day and then come home and work on my computer in the evening.

I am male, 5'11", and 300 pounds at the time (early November 2007).

The machine used was a bodygem. The test showed my RMR as 1790 but then adding in stationary lifestyle it went to 2148. CC estimated I burned 3140 per day sedentary. I averaged eating about 2150 calories per day.

The CC numbers made sense since I was losing about 2 pounds per week consistently without any exercise.  My calorie target is 2000 now and I weigh 267. CC estimates my daily burn at 2900 sedentary.  I'm still losing about 1-2 pounds per week on average but have added in a little exercise.

Considering the fact a large chunk of that 300 pounds was fat, I think 1790 calories is pretty accurate for you RMR/BMR. Only metabolically active tissue (muscle) has any effect on you basal metabolism. Obviously a 300 pound bodybuilder with 3% bodyfat would have a much higher metabolic rate.

Since I was eating ~2200 calories a day at the time and the 6 months prior with little to no exercise, how did I lose over 10 pounds per moth?

Weight Loss Do you log your calories every day? Mar 10 2008

I need to log everyday because I zig-zag and use the averages to make sure that I'm on target.  If I don't know a particular food I just guestimate as best I can by using the foods and recipes in the database.

The site is ad sponsored - so that is something we must live with.  I am not sure how CC does it, but most online ads are automated and targeted based on the content displayed on the page - that's likely why we get a lot of diet pills and food ads.

I just ignore the ads - I figure I have temptation all around me and must be strong whether online or in real life.

265 today.  I know it is still much more than many of you weighed even before starting AFC but this is a big milestone of mine because this means I've lost 100 pounds since I started on May 22, 2007.   This is the lowest I've been in close to 6 years. I still have a ways to go but am happy with my success so far.

I've seen it both ways with experts claiming one is better than the other.  But seems that everyone agrees that you should do both to get the best results.

What is the emergency?

You need to be more realistic with your weight loss.  You probably aren't eating enough, especially with the activity.  What is your average calorie deficit?

I had it done but the results were nearly half of what the estimates here were.  I explained to the person who administered the test that I didn't think it was accurate since I would not be losing weight as I consumed more calories than what their machine said I burned.  It may have been a fluke or I didn't breath properly but If I get it done again it won't be at the same place.

What's gazelle?
Do you get it at drug stores?

I would like more information. Thanks!

The Gazelle is an exercise machine by Tony Little reminiscent of a cross country ski machine or elliptical. You can find it at many department stores / online.

You don't need pills. Eat healthy and get active.

I follow the Calorie Count diet guidelines here and it has helped me lose 95 punds so far.  I have been intrigued by Men's Health programs Belly Off! and 15 Minute Workout.  Men's Health also has specific diet programs.

The biggest thing is you need to be commited to change, educate yourself on what caliories and specific foods do to your body, and realize that this is a lifestyle change not a temporary solution.

Don't worry about how fast you lose, just get on the right track and be committed and you will have great success.  Have realistic goals as well, I'm not sure if someone who is 5'7" with a big build should be at 140 - seems low to me.

Good luck!
