Cool, Thanks. Yes it's purely a motivation thing and I have kind of eaten a lot last few weeks. Luckily I excercise 3x per week with trainer and have not gained.

But I will look for dancing and hiking. I love both! Thanks!

Thanks a lot for the responses everyone!

I guess there way of getting around the 45 minute preperation of the brown rice. I just wil have to be patient.

As far as instant rice, I think it would have too much sodium which is another thing I trying to seriously cut down on. In fact the whole point of getting off my lazy butt to cook bown rice myself is to cut down on sodium. You guys are awesome though. Thank you and best of luck to everyone.

p.s. Added question, what do you usually eat with Brown rice? I usually eat egg whites omelets.

Thank you so much for everyones responses. I have also found that even healthy soups have tons of sodium. I guess the best thing to do is to cook EVERTHING yourself, which would be very difficult to do.

But honestly, how could anyone NOT get hypertension if you consume normal foods without cooking everything yourself.

I will try to cook everything myself and not add salt.

p.s. whatever happened to our old caveman days when it was actually hard to get enough sodium in you ...

Weight Loss Do you limit carbs at dinner? Oct 24 2008

It's a very difficult for me to limit starches, but I try my best. I've been told and read that the rule of thumb is to not consume any starch related carbohydrates ( potatoes, break, pasta, sugar) after 6 PM. Whenever possible, even before 6 PM, I try to substitute whole wheat carbohydrates.

Anyways, I am always working on improving my eating habits, but keep it up. It sounds like you're doing great.

Foods Halva - Does anyone know anything about it? Oct 23 2008

Here is another site that has Halva's nutritional information:

The pistachio ones are very delicious also. Maybe the best thing to do is learn how to make it and then just eat that. This way you can control what you put in.

Foods Is too much fiber bad? Oct 06 2008
23:30 (UTC)

This actually happened to me during the initial weeks. I upped by Fiber by a lot. I never measured, but I probably ate about 15-30g (never measured before) and now I eat about 50g+. Initially when I increased I felt gassy, bloated, and constipated for a week.

Your body will adapt, but from my experience and from what I have read, you should only gradually increase Fiber, and when you do increase it, ,make sure you drink lots of water. I feel great now though, so don't worry about me. :0)

But that's awesome that you're increasing your Fiber, it's important to eat a good amount of fiber.

Weight Loss Benefits of a Vegetarian Diet: Plant Protein vs. Animal Protein? Sep 23 2008

Hi floggingsully,

Thank you for the response. The thing is that having diabetes can lead to kidney failure. I am controlling all that, but I also want to know if eating plant protein is better than eating animal protein as long as I make sure that I get all the necessary proteins my body requires. Thanks again

P.S. As far as fat, I understand that there are good fats like fish oil, peanut fat, etc and I am basically staying away from saturated fats and limiting the others to min requirements.

Thank you so much for the advise everyone. It's very helpful. I will just try to drink as much as I can.

My main concern was that perhaps, my body gets rid if water too fast for me to catch up on the correct level.
