| The Lounge | Actual amount of calories in the serving your receiving in prepackaged foods?!?!? The shocking, or not so shocking, truth | Apr 10 2009 02:41 (UTC) |

I don't think they count the calories of the fiber yielding ingredients of the fiber one bars. We don't absorb them. We don't have the right enzymes and such to break down the fiber. But they would still show up in the weight. Then again, that might be wrong. |

| Although my situation is a little different than yours, I am your height and right around your age. I was told, when I was your weight, that I need to gain 7 more pounds to be healthy. The doctor actually wanted me to gain 12 lbs., but decided to start with 7. I felt fine at that weight too, but doctors know best most of the time. You should probably keep gaining. |

| That's what I meant sirk. I'm sorry swimchick. I didn't mean to offend anyone. As for the carrots, I heard that if you eat a lot you turn orange. So I did some research to see if it was true and found that link instead. |

| One more thing. 3 1/4" diameter seems really small. My wrist is 5 inches around and I have yet to seem a ripe apple that size.
Or maybe I'm just reading the measurement wrong. Would it have to be like 3 inches around the widest part of the apple to be large? |

| Foods | Back to School Lunches | Sep 05 2007 13:55 (UTC) |

| i used to pop a 100-cal bag of popcorn at home and put it in a container to bring to school. But then one day I was telling a story, and for emphasis i threw my arms out. The whole lunch room was cover in popcorn...
I also make salads sometimes. If you make it the night before and but a lot of yummy and unusual stuff in (ie: strawberries, blueberries, grapes, sun dried tomatoess, ect ect) and drizzle it w/ low fat dressing, all the flavor mingle and its really good. Just give it container a quick shake (WITH THE TOP ON! salad is harder to clean up than popcorn) to mix it all. I also would bring in a serving of cereal and eat it plain. Don't shake. |

You got your period back from just eating more? My friend was put on birth control to get hers back, but she hates how they make her feel. It would be wonderful if there was a more natural way. |

| Thanks suamere!
I understand that they see something different in mirrors. We all techincally do. If you look at yourself in a photo and look at yourself in a mirror it will never be quite the same, almost like twins. Its the same with voices. Your voice sounds different to you than it does to everyone else, not by much, but enough. i'm wondering if they ever look down and think "wtf? where are my boobs?" Or if the ever feel their bones. A mirror is always a distortion, but what about every other aspect of their life? Am I making sense? I think i'm just rambling. |

| I always wonder if anorexics see something different in a mirror, what do they see in photos or when they look down? Don't they see the number on their clothing tags?
This isn't meant to be demeaning. I am rather curious behind the mental aspects of eating disorders. Are the obvious signs ignore by the individual, like a surpressed memory? i don't know if I'll get a answer here, but i was just thinking out loud. Or what ever typing out thoughts is... |

| Weight Loss | I'm a leg bouncer... Does that count as excercise? | Aug 31 2007 14:41 (UTC) |

| You might have an acute form of RLS: restless leg syndrome.
Actually, there's a little controversy over this, probably because of the name. But my friend is a foot bouncer and was told by her doctor she has RLS. We try to make her stop, but then she stops breathing or twitchig somewhere else. (no harm ment, she starts breathing again) But ya, she's rail thin. I'm assuming it has something to do with it... |

| I used to loooovve Peter Pan Whipped PB. It was like 70 cal for 2 tbsp and was fluffy and light but actually tasted like PB.
Then people started, like, dying from some contaminated jars. Psh, whimps... Kidding. Needless to say, i don't buy that anymore. I've actually seriously cut down on PB. I gave it up for lent and have had it only once or twice since then. That doesn't count a school trip I went on though. We had to live on welf fare. AKA pb w/ everything if we even wanted some kind of protein. I discover that if I was to have PB, might as well treat myself. I love the pathmark ff pb. There was so much sugar that the creamy crunched!!! I wouldn't recomend it if your going for healthy though... |

| I think they're pretty good. I love the peach flavor. The price just depends on where you go. I got one yesterday for the same price as the bottles of water and soda. Yay CVS!
Even if it doesn't burn calories, its cheaper than a cup of starbucks and is wwaaaaaaaaayyy better than Red Bull on multipule aspects. And each can has 20% of the calcium needed for a day. |

| I just had an aaaamazing run today.
Probably cause it was only two miles... But the weather was beautiful and I listened to "Bat out of Hell" by Meatloaf. Awesome running song. It's also like 10 minutes long, so if you round a mile to about 10 minute (which I do) you can figure out how much you ran by count the number of times Meatloaf played!! WEEEEE! endorphins!!! |

| Too skinny comments are surprisingly hurtful. It was something I never really concidered.
My grandma told me I was too thin two days ago. It was embarassing and really insulting. I think I look good, for the first time in, like, ever. I have never once gotten a complement though. I only get a comment when something is wrong. Which is probably why I still have bathing suit anxiety, which gets me in more trouble because its like 80 outside and I'm in jeans. I've found that skinny actually opens you up to way more insults. Expecially at my age. Kay, thats my rant for today. |
