Fitness A trick/game to help you work out Longer... Aug 23 2007

I run on the road so I do distances.  I can't look until I get to the end of this street.

Sometimes when I am feeling lucky I say things like I can't look at my watch until I see a red car, or whatever.

I really thought I was the only one that did this stuff, but now I know I am not alone.

You could always try planning out your food for the day the night before, hopefully when you are less hungry.  I use this technique if I am craving unhealthy food or I am going to go somewhere I know I am going to be tempted (like anytime there is homemade baked good witin a 100 yards of me).  I plan snacks and meals, sometimes I even pre-pack them when I am planning so I don't lose my resolve the next morning.  Obviously I don't do this all the time, I do it just to help me get through the rough spots.

When it comes to your breakfast you could add a piece of fruit or a cup of tea to help curb the 10 o'clock snack attack or check the fiber on your cereal if it is low you should probably find a cereal with more.  Or just bring the fruit with you and have that at 10 instead of looking for that pretty pink box most wonderful pastries seem to come in.

I used to eat LC and Smart One's five days a week as well.  I have modified that once I saw the fat and sodium on some of them  (some of them have half your fat requirements for the day).  Now I try to make my lunch the night before or use leftovers from dinner.

However I do use them when I am crunched for time and my other option would be to grab take-out.
Health & Support "Charlie horses" in your back? anyone else? Jul 24 2007

I use yoga dvd's from Wai Lana and they state that they are for the back and usually legs, too.  I have found that stretching my hamstrings really helps my back.  Just read the description on the back of the case to help you find the right one. I would definitely start with a beginners level, I consider myself pretty active and sometimes I struggle through some of the asanas.
Health & Support Accutane while trying to lose a significant amount of weight? Jul 23 2007

When I was on accutane, I was exhausted all the time so I didn't eat or exercise.  I maintained my weight pretty well, but I was miserable.  That is when I switched to birth control and tea tree oil soaps (body and face) and had a lot of success without the side effects.  I agree with lk1234 use really good moisturizers because your skin will get dry EVERYWHERE.  I used Eucerin and Aquaphor in the am and pm, and it helped a lot.

I get those cramps occasionally too.  I started getting them after I was in a car accident.

They are terrifying I can't breath deeply and I can't move, not fun at all.  The doctor just prescribed pain pills, but I still recommend seeing one.

For me the only things that really helps is to make sure I stretch after workouts and do yoga or pilates.

I did cross sountry and high school and was terrible.  I did stick it out though and at the end of the season I won most improved runner.  Which was kind of cool. . .and kind of not.

If you do decide to do it it would help if you started training now.  That would give you some time to build up your endurance and speed.  It might also help you make up your mind, if you like running on your own you probably would like it even more on a team.

Recently I was called a dieting hypochondriac, so I guess that means I think about it a lot.  But I am not really sure I care what this person thinks since I am obviouly much healthier then her.

The Lounge Getting Married Jul 12 2007

To prepare for my wedding last year I watched what I ate.  But the thing that helped me the most was exercising.  It helped me relieve wedding planning stress, family stress, work stress, and everything else that happens while planning wedding stress.

I worked out about an hour a day at the gym 5 days a week doing cardio.  Then I would do weights for about 30 min. 3-4 times a week.  However before I went to bed I relaxed with a simple pilates mat routine.  This helped me physically and mentally because it would help me relax and allow me to let go of what was going on around me and it is a great core workout.  Oh and anytime my fiance and I needed to discuss something difficult we got away from everyone by taking a walk and we wouldn't finish the walk until we had come to an agreement (trust me their were some very long walks).

When it comes to your mom and your sister it is not a competition or a battle; It is your day and just enjoy it, no matter how much weight you have lost, or they have lost.  Enjoying your day will make you the most beautiful bride possible.

ps. Congratulations!!!
