| Foods | I love beer too much | Jul 29 2009 21:15 (UTC) |

I too like my brewsky. Luckily I like Coors Light, which only has about 100 calories per can. I try to keep my drinking to a weekend habit, but some days during the week I will have one. I just try to cut back on one of my meals by a piece of bread or have a smaller serving of something to make up for some of the calories. Just try to let your beer be a reward for not having that 2nd donut or slice of pie. If you cut out some of the other naughty items, you can enjoy your suds. :) |

I like mine with spinach, mushrooms, asiago cheese and zucchini...I usually fill the pita and then put it in a skillet to toast it a little on both sides. This melts the cheese and heats up the veggies. This also works with a large wheat tortilla. Just put the veggies in and fold it over while in the skillet and heat well on both sides. If I eat one cold, I like tomato, fat free ranch dressing, spinach and cheese.

| I have tried to like green tea. I think it would be good for my cholesterol, but it seems to hurt my stomach. I always feel yucky after drinking it, so I have yet to be able to enjoy it. I guess I will give up and try something else. :( | |||

| My first UTI was years ago and I got sick because I didn't know what it was. I haven't had one in years, but I have to be sure and use Dove unscented sensitive skin soap. I have heard of women who couldn't drink caffeine without getting a UTI. Hope you find the cause. | |||

| I am going to splurge and eat a personal size pizza for supper! And maybe a lite beer?
I love pizza, but only eat it once every couple of weeks. Too many calories that I could eat from something else and be more satisfied. I could eat pizza til I blow up! |

| Pancakes are sooooo good!
smaller ones at a restaurant would be around 100 each and the larger they get, they go closer to 150-175 I like to overestimate so I don't end up eating too many. By the time you add syrup and butter, you could be pushing 200-300 each pretty quick. I usually consider 3 medium size pancakes with a pat of butter and a nice helping of syrup to be around 700. |

| I used to loathe celery...I thought it tasted like dirt!
Didn't like it for the first 33 years of my life. Then, I tried it with ranch dressing and...voila! For 3 years, I have loved it! I can eat it with cheese and other stuff too, now. It is weird how your tastes for things can change. Your concoction sounds yummy! |

| My mom has a staple sweet that she always keeps around that is not just a terribly fat treat.
She spreads a bit of peanut butter on a ritz cracker and dips them into melted chocolate or white almond bark. You could make a healthier blueberry muffin with wheat flour. |

| I am on a stir fry kick..
I spray my nonstick skillet with Pam and add two of the following ingredients, depending on what I am craving. I cook them on very high heat, but stir very often and the veggies will brown just a little, but still be pretty firm. Zucchini (sliced), asparagus (cut into about 1" pieces), sugar snap peas (frozen), fresh mushrooms (cut into pieces), yellow squash (sliced), tofu (cubed), broccoli florets, baby carrots (chopped)...the list can go on and on, but I usually just pick 2 or 3 and cook a huge skillet full, adding greek seasoning or whatever is your favorite. I can eat the whole thing by myself and it is very filling! |

| I try to find things that are similar to what I am craving. I never completely deprive myself or I will binge. Tonight I was craving a cobbler using the blackberries I had just bought. Instead of a high calorie cobbler, I mixed 3 tbsps fat free cream cheese and 3 tbsps of cool whip, then stirred in the cup of blackberries. It was only about 200 calories instead of probably 400 and it had no fat. It was yummy and I never missed the cobbler. If I can't find anything to kill my craving, I let myself have a couple of bites of what I really want and drink coffee or something with it to help me get filled faster. Cinnamon toast rice cakes are yummy and filling too. | |||

| My latest binge involved almost half of my nephew's birthday cake. At least I was kind enough to bring the cake to the party, because I looove buttercream icing store bought birthday cake and I knew I would eat alot! I started with 2 small pieces and a cup of coffee, but I couldn't stop. I would get another piece, then just a bite, then another. OMG! It had to be the best tasting cake in the world! It was so worth it! I had a little trouble sleeping that night, just from the sugar rush I guess...hehe. I try not to get close to cake very often because it is my biggest weakness...there are many others though. I maintain my weight very well, but only because I eat super healthy most of the time. | |||

| I too loooove them. I did the same as you, I would use sugar free vanilla syrup and skim milk. I bought a cafe au'lait machine online for $50 on their website and I use skim milk in it. It makes an awesome amount of foam from 1/2 cup skim. I just use my regular coffee, but make it a little stronger than normal. I add the milk that I have foamed with the syrup added when foaming. It is delicious. It saved me from shelling out more money on an espresso machine. Hope this helps! Jill | |||

| I tried something new with my cabbage that I got for 25 cents. I shredded it like you would coleslaw and cooked it in a deep skillet with not alot of water and covered. I watched it and added a little more water if needed. I used some garlic mix seasoning after it had cooked down a little. Then, after it was cooked down, and very little water was in the pan, I sprayed some butter spray onto it, stirred and kinda fried it in the skillet for a few minutes. Delicious! The next time, I added turkey sausage cut up and it was even better! If you like sweet, you can add a dash of sugar. | |||
