Manda; there's people in this group that are at the same level as you. I was at that level about 2 or 3 months ago, trust me if you keep working at it, bit by bit you'll build endurance and it will be easier before you know it !

Good luck (:

Haha Ashley I think you've figured us out perfectly :)

Endurance is deff my problem, and yeah i think i have quick mile times because our coach made us do sprints constantly. Just can't keep it up haha, so i will deff try adding some hills into my running course, thanks !

I do pretty well with clothes, I don't have much of a problem. Where do you shop now? Because like many teens, I do shop at Hollister/Abercrombie; sizes run smaller at hollister, so I wear size 0 jeans and small tops. It works :)
No, I don't shop at kids stores. Ever. I pretty much refuse (: Like I said, Junior stores are your best bet when your the size that we are. I can also do stores like.. uh Windsor, Express, Forever 21, etc. Just have to stick to small/x-small and 0 or 00 pants.
I may be built differently then you, so I can't gaurantee you'll have as much ease i do sometimes do when buying clothes. but who knows!

I'm 5'0", but close enough, yeah? :)
I'm only 15, but I want to start now with healthier eating and a healthier lifestyle.

Current weight: 100 lbs
Goal Weight: 95ish (just a few lbs makes a difference on us short people! And that's all I want)

Good luck to everyone!

Oh, and also; I have a friend with diabetes who is 16, and slow metabolisms and diabetes are genetic in her family, meaning she has a really tough time maintaining a healthy weight. When she was trying to find an exercise routine that suited her, she and I came across a Turbo Jam commercial. So she bought it and trust me, it helps ! She's lost about 35 pounds since last year, and she's always talking about how great she feels. She's got great endurance & really strong muscles now. So for anyone who feels like they're in an exercise rut, Turbo Jam is amazing ! I've done the tapes a few times with her to keep her company, but you could honestly do those tapes ALL the time by yourself and it hardly seems like exercise. It's exciting and fast paced, plus they have music & energetic leaders that pump you up.

So wow, I wrote quite a bit about that, haha. But honestly, I would recommend it. (:

Hey I'm 15 and I'm 5' tall... I'm doomed to never get past 5'4", so I want to start paying attention to my weight (a little bit at least) now, because like you said Carrie; when you're short, even 5 pounds makes you feel sluggish and just uncomfortable. It shows up quickly !

Anyways, 5" at exactly 100 pounds. I really don't want to lose anything (..5 pounds would be nice, just want to slim down my bulky gymnast legs) but mostly am just here for the motivation to keep up a healthy weight and lifestyle, and cheer everyone else on.

So good luck with your goals everybody!

Thanks Ashley! :) Yeah, I have a feeling I won't be able to run that again (until I really work on it at least), I pushed myself pretty hard haha. I love biking, it's pretty fun, the miles pass quickly too. Yeah, hopefully I'm building some endurance haha. Its usually my legs, too (calves are the worst) but it's also sometimes because I cramp pretty easily. Do you (or anyone) have an tips on that ?

Ashley- that improvment from 9:40 to 7:40 is great ! And even if you think the 6:20 time on the treadmill is off, it at least shows (like you said) that you've made some improvement. Hope everyone's doing good with this (:

sweet. pretty proud of myself this past week;

i ran a 7:10 mile, one of my fastest times. then i ran 3 miles 2 other times this week, no stopping (i don't have much endurance, haha. so that was impressive for me)

and today i biked 20 miles in about 65/70 minutes.

feeling good :)

Ashley- yeah i have a small routine on top of running -100 calf raises a day (stand on the edge of a step with your toes, raise up and down slowly- for those not familiar with calf raises) the slower you do them, the better. -500 crunches (all different kinds, on the workout ball, sideways, etc) -5 planks a day, at random times when i have a minute or so. I hold them for about 2 minutes at a time. -My arms already are sorta muscular, from gymnastics for a few years. So i only do pushups occassionaly, when I do I only do 100 a day.

How bout anyone else, any good routines?

Alright, so: Age: 15
Goals: Want to be able to do at least a 5K without stopping, also hope to run under a 7:00 min. mile
Why I run: It makes me feel good, and I know its a good way to excercise ! Plus I'm hoping to make V-Squad Lacrosse next year, so I need all the conditioning I can get.
Stats: 5'0", between 95-100pounds.

I agree with helen, we should check once a week & share any goals we've met/how many miles we've ran.
