| I thought I'd get other people's opinions on this. I get home from school at about 8:30 PM and still have homework to do, get my clothes ready for work for the next day, etc. So I've been postponing my workouts to Fri., Sat., and Sun. which is fine, but I'm not seeing results. I've cleaned up my diet in the last month and not much is happening here, in fact the scale might be creeping up more. So here's my question: Should I suck it up and go to the gym a couple nights after class and stay up later? Right now I'm staying up until about 11 PM to finish homework and get everything done. But if it pays off, I'll try harder.
What would you guys do? Thanks! : ) |

| Yesterday I totally fell off the wagon after doing somewhat ok during the rest of the week.
For lunch I had a turkey and avocado sandwich (with sprouts and veggies) on whole wheat bread. It was really good, but had loads of fat from the avocado. When I got home is where I was really busted. I had 2 average sized pieces of pizza and a piece of cheese cake AND 1 beer AND I did not go to the gym. OMG. Back on today. I'm not going to weigh again until Monday morning after I have repented for my sins. : ) |

| I would love to hear what some of you do for lunch/dinner when you can't eat at home. I have work then school this summer so I am gone from 7 AM til about 8:30 PM (Mon.-Thurs.) and I eat all my meals at the office during the week. I'm trying to do a good job of it but I'd really like to get some feedback from you all. I also cannot excerise during the week because of homework that has to be done after class. My workouts are Fri., Sat., and Sun. Do you think it's ok to do them back-to-back-to-back like that? Happy Weekend!!! |

| Thanks everyone for your advice. I will take all of it into consideration. And starting tomorrow I am going to cut WAY back on my carbs and see what happens with that after a couple of weeks. Wow, that's going to be tough. I'm going to be grumpy for a while. I'm still considering getting my bloodwork done just so I can rule out a thyroid issue. I really don't want to take medicine for that the rest of my life. But I will do it if it comes to that. Thanks again for the advice. | |||

| I'd like to join! I've been trying to lose for a very long time. I'm having a problem balancing 40 hr/work week with school 4 nights a week and wanting to see my husband for at least a few minutes each day. I always have the best intentions but never get it really going. My height is 5'5", maybe 5'4". Start weight- 222.5 First goal weight- 180 Ultimate goal weight- 135 |

| So I'm finally showing some progress after having 3 weeks where the line on my chart stayed flat. Starting weight- 223 Feb. 27- 217 March 3- 214 GW- 130 84 lbs. to go. : ( My first small goal is to get to 200. I can do that. |

| Hello all. I'm 28 years old, 5'5, and weigh 217 lbs. My goal is to lose 87 lbs. and be at 130 lbs. I'm not sure how long it will take. I've been a notorious yo-yoer lately. My first goal is to get under 200 lbs. in the next few weeks. I feel like if I can reach that, I will have enough momentum to keep going. I have drastically changed the way I eat in the last couple of months but have been falling short on working out. Now I'm focusing on that. I was doing well then started school and gained some weight back. But, I've got the eating habits corrected, but that alone is not enough to get the pounds off. Good luck to everyone! |

| I'm in college, too. But I work full time and am just taking 6 hours this semester. I try to go to the gym for at least 30 minutes when I get home from school, which is usually at 9 PM. But I don't have to get up until 6 AM, which is nice. Tuesdays are going to be my long days at the gym since I don't have school that night.

| I think I am a lot like you as I was not losing for the longest time and was getting depressed about it. You can see my weight log if you like. It went up, down a little, back up. I just got really intense last week and it's begun to pay off already. I watch everything I eat. I thought I was watching previously, but I was not doing a good job. And at the gym 1-2 miles will not get the job done. Try to stay on an eliptical machine (if you have access) for about an hour. At a decent intensity and speed, it will burn around 600 cal/hr for your weight. Do that twice a week and on the other days just do 30-45 minutes. You can even take a day off. Don't forget to do some weight training, but spend the majority on cardio.
I'd like to know how you are doing in a week or so and maybe you can share some tips. I'll take all the help I can get. |

| This group is having the opposite effect than what it should as I have gained 3.5 lbs. in 2 weeks. I'm eating less, running more. I'm totally stressed, though. School, my brother is in visiting and he is like an infant, my husband is also like an infant. Just to study I have to stay up until all hours because I have to cook and clean up after them, plus working 40 hrs. I'm sure I'm not the only one with a sob story like this, but I need to vent. But, one thing that I HAVE made sure that I get in 4 days a week is a 3 mile jog. Honest to goodness, I find the time. So why won't the scales go the other way? | |||

| I went to the website and looked. Wow- it's really pricey. About a year ago I was looking into something that would calculate my calories burned during a specific period of time and found this. http://www.bodytronics.com/page/bodytronics/P ROD/polar_monitors/POF6F I think it comes with a chest strap and it's programmable so it will accurately count your calories, you just have to keep up with what you take in. I sent you the link to the women's one, but they have lots of different models. |
