Make a list of all the things you can do now that you couldn't do at 190!

Take out old pictures and try to remember how it felt.

And think about how awesome it will feel to see another pound drop!

I get some of my exercise in by dancing around my office that I work in on the weekends- no one else is around, the radio is on, so the heels come off and I'm bouncing around!

Now that the weather is nice I really look forward to my daily walks, and my dog is greatful for that.

I've been off track all semester....I gained about 7 pounds...10 from my lowest point.  But once I realized my new pants were too tight again, I got back on track.

It sucks to have to re-lose the weight, but I just keep picturing what I'm going to look like when I hit my goal.  I'm drinking a ton of water, weighing myself every morning, and writing the new number on a chart I have on my fridge.  I also log it here and gaze lovingly at the downslope of the chart, hehe.

The first couple of days back on track were hard- my body had to get used to an eating schedule again.  But watching the scale slowly go down is worth it!

Look at before and after pictures of other people, it helps to motivate me!

It drives me NUTS when a certain someone I live with pigs out and says, "Well, I haven't eaten anything ALL DAY."  Right....so eat 1,000 calories in one meal...that's the way to do it...UGH!

Besides, did you forget that you already had breakfast and lunch?  Just because they were tiny meals, doesn't mean they don't count....
Weight Loss 140 lb (today)--130lb (prom day)--120 lb(before university starts)! Apr 20 2008

Order that salad anyway!  Salads at restuarants are pretty big, and hopefully people will be supportive.  And consider the calories you're saving when you do that!

And at the pizza party- don't deprive yourself, just eat really slow.  Take a slice and see how many times you can chew each bite.  It'll last longer, giving your body time to realize that it's full.  If you cut out pizza forever you're more bound to give in!

My family members all carry the same weird shape- when they are overweight.  We all have big butts- until the weight is gone.  My twin brother used to have the same pudgy body shape I had, but then he got wicked skinny and we don't even look related anymore.  So maybe our genes say where the fat will be stored if we have it, but as long as you're healthy you can tone and shape your body the way you want.

The hardest thing for me is that if I eat late at night, it's not an apple.  It's a bag of popcorn.  So I need to not eat after 7 to keep the snacking monsters away.

since you ate more yesterday you're okay to eat less today, it'll all even out and it's good to "cycle" your calories so your body doesn't get used to the same amount everday.

Someone at work asked me how I lost weight, I said "counting calories" and she said "oh, so basically Weight Watchers".  GR! She wanted to take away my credit.

Someone else is annoyed with me because when I started counting she warned me that it wouldn't work and that I should do South Beach, like she does.  25 pounds down, she's annoyed, and everytime she seems me eating she says "That's ALL you're eating?" because she wants to make it look like I'm starving.  I'm just controlling my portions and not eating it all at once.

I'm in the same boat....however I just lost a ton of weight so actually fitting into clothes is new to me- and now I'm rejecting clothes because they're too big!

All my of pants have to be hemmed and I wear 2 inch heels with my "short" jeans.

Shirts...sigh...why is the style so long right now?  Everything in style reaches past my butt.  I definitely can't shop in department stores, they are all doing the long style.  American Eagle sweaters fit just right except for the sleeves, which I just roll up on the inside.  Besides that...I just keep digging to find a random item that fits right.  One good thing about the long shirts is that the layered look is cool, so a long shirt under a sweater of a contrasting color looks snazzy.
Weight Loss snacking while studying Dec 02 2007

popcorn was my favorite study food...and I wasn doing great with 100 calorie packs...but then I discovered the wonders of putting cheese, melted butter, salt...anything really...on top, lol.  I'm not letting myself buy it for a while.

Ditto to Diet Coke- it keeps me awake and it's very refreshing.

I just had a cheat two weeks, lol.  I got to that point where I said "I've done so well, I deserve this" but I said it every day.  Two pounds up and I'm ready to buckle down for a couple more months of healthy dieting.  it got scary there for a bit tho, I wasn't sure if I would be able to get my motivation back...

oh my goodness that smoothie/ice cream combo sounds sooo good.

Last night I ordered from the cafeteria where I work.  The lady gave me generous portions of turkey, rice, and corn.  I kept looking at the food like "Yum! But I shouldn't eat all that!" I guess I looked upset, cause she said, "Did I give you the wrong things?" lol, I thought that was funny.

I forced myself to throw out half of the rice and corn once I was full.  Yeah.

I have a rant to share.

Why do people think it's okay to tell you how fat you were, now that you're smaller???  I don't want to hear how ugly I was!! I'm still me!

Today a co-worker said "Looking good! That shirt fits you nicely.  Remember when you wore that striped baby-doll shirt and you said you hoped you didn't look pregnant, and I told you it looked cute?  Well honestly, it was totally unflattering.  But now you look good!"

WTF?!  How do I know you're telling the truth this time?  And great, I'm glad I look better, but now I have to wonder what everyone's been thinking of me.  I was chubby, but I didn't think I was BAD looking.  :( bitch.
Motivation Belt holes Sep 23 2007
20:42 (UTC)
I've had the same problem, but I guess I shouldn't complain! I've had to make new holes in my belts, need to buy new ones soon.

The problem is with pants- I was a 13. Then a perfect 11...now I'm between 9's and 11's...9's are too tight on the butt, but 11's are too big in the waist....grrrr.  And I just bought the 3 pairs of 11's!  I figure if I lose 5 more pounds I can buy the 9's...it'll be bargain shopping for me.

I've read on this site that it takes a few weeks for your metabolism to slow down, so don't worry about that.

Think of it as just zig zagging your calories so your body doesn't get used to one amount and get lazy on you.  You can eat a little more today, less tomorrow, and so on, just as long as it all averages to your daily calorie needs.

you've already burnt it off just by breathing. don't worry! you'll kill your metabolism and lose weight even slower if you don't eat enough.

I know a lot of people talk about eating back calories, and I won't claim to know which way is right.  I just don't think that eating 1,000 calories in one meal could be good.  Just have a good dinner well rounded dinner and call it good.  Then plan your meals for tomorrow to be more spread out.

I completely binged for the first time in 3 months a couple days ago.  I went to Burger King and had a plain Tendercrisp chicken sandwich, a medium fry, AND a 6 peice cheesy tot.  The next morning the scale said I gained 2 & 1/2 pounds :(  Then the next day I had only lost 1/2 of that, so it seems like a solid 2 pounds gained.  I'm really hoping there's a chance that it's still some water weight from all the salt....

the moral of this story is binge, but not on 3 meals worth of salty food all at once.  gr.

I havn't fallen off the wagon though, I too am finally in this for the long haul :)  So lots of water today and healthy eating...we'll see what the scale says tomorrow!

I'm in the same boat as a lot of you...I've lost 16 pounds which I think is fairly noticeable on me.  My father used to tease me about being overweight.  We have lunch once every two weeks.  I used to get a burger and fries, and then eat his fries too hahaha.  Now I always get a salad.  He hasn't mentioned the healthier eating habits or the weight loss! Grr!  I was really looking forward to his acknowledgement/praise.  I keep thinking, "next time, when I'm a few pounds lighter, he'll notice."

At least my mother is supportive.  She lives in a different state so I email her pictures and I actually keep her updated by sending an updated picture of my weight loss chart!! haha, she loves it and even sent me money for new clothes :) :) :)

I've so been a victim of mid-night weigh-in...if I wake up to use the bathroom I weigh myself and I usually get really excited to go back to bed and wake up again, because it seems to be those last couple of hours of sleep that shed the pounds for some reason.  When I weigh again it's usually a significant amount less. yay, lol.
