Weight Loss how have people treated you differently since your weight loss? Sep 16 2007

when im around people eating a meal consisiting of pizza, chipc, cookies, etc. I have to decline b/c i dont eat junk food anymore. so they begin asking questions like "how can you not like/eat pizza?" "every one loves chips!" (shoving them in my face)..."do you even have a favorite food?" "do you even eat?" "if you do, what do you eat for lunch?"

It just kinda bugs me that they dont think i eat but when in reality i do eat. Just, I eat healthy unlike the rest fo the girls asking me these questions. I have realized that i dont want to make eating unhealthily a habit when i become an adult and i have started to try and become healthier at my age (almost 16) so i will lead a more sccuessful life later on.

Weight Loss Overeating at DINNER!!! (any other teens with this problem?) Sep 13 2007
04:32 (UTC)
I have very little control on what i eat for dinner b/c the parents make it and i feel obgligated to eat what they give me b/c it would be disrespectful not to; however when i do eat their food they always want me to have seconds, b/c they know i eat way less than they do.
Yet, i've been getting away with eating "Healthy Choice" and "Smart Ones" frozen dinners with low calories b/c i have swim practice and have to leave before the parents have dinner.

you may never stop craving certain foods but try finding alternatives for those foods that may be healthier or lower in calories. this may get your mind off of those cravings; if not eat what you crave...just in moderation

do not brush your teeth right after doing damage to your body. that will only make the stomach acid set into your teeth even further and cause more damage to your teeth. go see a dentist.
Health & Support eating disorder seems to be coming back... Sep 05 2007

I have the same problem. I lost roughly 20 pounds in 2 months by severely restricting calories and exercising excessively. It seemed to have gone away, but now i have a feeling its coming back b/c all i ever seem to think about it wanting to lose more weight, finding foods w/ lower calories, different exercise routines and finding ways around meals =X  and im afraid im gonna go too far with wanting to be thinner. I'm 5'5" and 118lbs- bmi of 19 (i think)... yeah im at the lowest end of being in the healthy weight range, but i dont see it. my perception of myself isnt the greatest (obviously).
Health & Support Having trouble eating enough, then binging Sep 05 2007

I am dealing with this right now. I had severely restricted my calories (have not gone to a doctor yet and am nervouse to) but confided in a friend who is helping to get me to eat more and feel less guilty, however i still count my calories and usually end up under 1000-1200 still. The only way i can get myself to reach my caloric goal is to binge and i hate that b/c eating is a guilty pleasure and i cant deal with that anymore. Sorry i dont quite know how to fix it, other than to tell yourself to love your body (though i have trouble doing so) and try your hardest to find healthy foods that are higher in calories.

i agree with stephh0701. If you are as active as you say you are, then 1200 is definitely way below the calories you need for the day. 1200 for a woman is the bare minimum (for women who are sedentary) By the looks of it, you are not a sedentary person, but extremely active. Your body doe not think its getting enough calories/nutrients and is putting itself into starvation mode and holding onto the calories you consume and storing it as fat. Read up on starvation mode to understand it better.
