Hi All,

Im back at 147 this morning, I sometimes struggle to eat 1285 Cals somedays so don't know what to do.  Have been exercising as well so a little bit down.  Certainly getting bored with eggs for breakfast all the time.  Maybe I should start phase 2 a little bit early

Morning All,

Hope you had a good weekend. Wish I had found some ants.  I could just slap myself, had a human day yesterday!!!

Had 2 glasses of red wine, then had a scoop of ice cream, then a piece of bonoffie pie, (excuse the spelling) not enough water, not enough good food, no exercise and guess what the weight has gone up.  Why do we do this to ourselves, it makes me so mad and you know what is going to happen.  Then Mr. Devil kicks in --- ah! just a little won't hurt but it does. This was my 7th day on SB!!!!!  So in total had:-

1 major yesterday & 3 minor blips over the week - its the red wine I'm sure then your poor body has to get rid of the toxins before it can get rid of the rubbish that has been eaten.  AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Im so mad--have a Birthday next Saturday and wanted to have lost at least 5lbs--I m open to verbal abuse for being so wimpish, so bring it on!!!

Anyway, enough about me.

Health & Support How to reduce LDL Cholesterol Sep 01 2007

The daily recommended Cholesterol for adults on 2000 cals a day is 300mg I am on the South Beach Diet and I am sometimes in the 500mg range this is kind of scary.  My cal intake is supposed to be 1285calories a day, which I often find hard to get to.   Not sure what to do about the cholesterol!!!!

Is it because I am eating more eggs/protein. On phase 1 so, apart from the obvious protein, eating only very good carbs ie vegetables.  I have checked the SB book and the dieters examples all state that their cholesterol has come down.  A little bit worried to say the least that my intake is quite high.

Hi Sun123,

Don't go to the beach just now its too hot - 47 deg and humid.  We hid inside or go to one of our 3 malls in little old Abu Dhabi.

To get a smiley face I think you need to be in HTML format when you write your e-mails, whatever program you are using I use Outlook Express--method for this is go into Tools top left hand side of screen, press options, then press the send tag in this box you will find either HTML or plain text, you must be sending in plain text so click on HTML then you should get the smiley face when you send a reply on this forum, you will have to click on this, then you can choose the face you want-don't want any sad ones-OK.

If I am wrong maybe someone else can give you advice.

Bye

Hello Everyone,

Quick question, has anyone had their cholesterol checked since they have been on this diet?  Just wondered with all the eggs that are in Phase 1, plus still over 1 week to get to Phase 2, and longing for some fruit.    Today I only cooked 1 whole egg and added the white only from another, just in case.

Hope you have a good weekend,

Mary

Jayne, my first name is Mary, thanks for asking.

Quick question about fiber on the SB Diet in the first phase, is this a must?  I would have thought that all the vegetable would have given enough fibre-don't know I'm new to this!!!!

Carrie, I know how you feel when the scales go up, I went up over the weekend it really makes you feel desperate but am coming back down again.

Has anyone had a glass of wine during the first phase, I know your not supposed to, and did it make any difference to your weight loss?

Bye

Sharon, I have a 33 year old son and 11 year old daughter - had her when I was 43 so never too late to start.  The only thing is your body does not go back to the nice shape so quickly when you are older.  So here I am still struggling with the weight probem but always hopefully that this SB diet is going to work!!!  Of course all this support on the forum must be a great advantage.

Hi am new to all of this, still a bit confused, but have been at 145lbs for so long I could write a book on the yo-yoing.   Have only now discovered I have not been eating enough probably at starvation level, plus I exercise all the time-cardio, spinning weights yoga you name it. Find it hard to believe the amount of food I have to eat now.  Before was eating only protein and veg-good carbs and nothing has happened in the last two years.

Wish me luck, hope this time I will see a loss soon!!!

Hello,

I just started the CC July 2.  I am British, living in the Middle East, am 54 fit but fat at 143 lbs and 5ft 1in-need to loose 24 lbs.  Have only lost once before on the Atkins Diet, (have regained my insanity) had lost and put back more.  2 Years on still can't loose the weight even though I exercise all the time, so here I am just waiting for something to happen and to start eating healthily again. Thought it was the menopause that was doing the no weight loss but I guess I was not eating enough.

It will be nice to be included in your group and hear any good tips.

Kindest regards to all,

MJH
