I picked up my diet around July 2nd or so, and I've dropped 11 pounds now in total in my diet. I just found out today that I had gotten to -11. Looks like we share the same happiness on the same day!

Yeah, I'm almost 160 but I look pretty bad :-P It depends on the person, really. That's why we're all unique ;-)

I tried this is my main diet a few months ago and managed to barely lose any weight. I'd have the cereal for breakfast in the morning, and I bought the snack bars. By the time lunch came around I was always tired, and usually ended up taking a nap.

 

Maybe that's just one situation, but ever since I've stopped eating Special K [paying more attention to my sugar intake] I've had a lot more energy, and I've started to lose weight.

I also have this feeling. I wake up after a good day of working out and eating good, and think I look better. Most of the time my scale doesn't agree with me, though.

 

About you getting bigger, it's probably all mental. Just stick to your good habits you've picked up and soon enough, you'll be looking great all the time.

Well, they do offer croutons at school with the salads, so I'll be trying that tomorrow. I'd get a sandwich, but our school has ridiculous prices, and honestly, I don't trust the stuff they put into those sandwiches. I like the salads because they're the only controlled meal the school offers.

 How many calories would croutons add, assuming  it's nothing crazy and like 1 1/2 table spoons or something?

For breakfast I had a bowl of cherrios and some 1% milk.

At lunch I had a normal sized salad with some italian dressing [not too much, prolly a couple table spoons at the most] and I had some diced watermelon.

Oh yeah, and water.

As for dinner, I'm not sure what I'll be having, I usually save some calories and stuff for dinner, because I never know what I'm going to have.

I personally enjoy the Dannon {I think? Not sure on the brand, but it's a popular brand} Berries and Creme Carb & Sugar control. It's got something like only 5 grams of sugar and is low on calories. Plus, it tastes good!

Well, as a person who's actually IN High School now, I'm not happy with my body image. I'm only 5'6" and 163 lbs, so I know I need to lose some more.

I'm glad I'm going to fix this problem early in my life instead of later on.

I'm not HUGE by any means, but I'm a realist and I know I'm over weight. Hopefully I'm glad with my body -20 pounds from now, or else I might have some problems :-P

I just saw this thread from another one. I'm glad there's so many other teens on here, it's a good feeling to know you're not alone in this journey.  Now, about me, :-P

I'm 16, and I started my diet probably around July 1st, and I just recently kicked it in about 2 weeks ago. I've lost 8 pounds (I'm 5'6", and 163 pounds now) so I'd like to lose probably 20 or so more pounds by November.

The good feeling is knowing that if I just keep it up, I can go ahead and reach my goal.

I go back to school on Tuesday, High School that is. The meals we have, as I'm sure you all know, aren't healthy at all. They do offer a salad bar, but you never know what people could do to the salad, as it's just sitting out there.

Looks like I might be packing my lunch this year.

Just keep your head on your diet, and you'll be fine. It's not bad to have a 'bad' food every once in a while, but no food is worth wasting all the time and work you've already put into your diet!

Let me say this, i'm 16 and I'm a guy (so there goes the bikini argument!) and I'm dieting. I know friends who've gone as far as eating disorders to lose weight so they can feel good about themselves. In the end however, they realized they're still the same person as they were before, but skinnier. My route is undergoing an entire life change, which is what it should be I think. Just because I want to look good for the remainder of High School and the rest of my life, doesn't mean I'm doing anything wrong, does it? I'd rather tackle this issue in my youth then try to lose weight when I'm 35 years old with kids and a job.

Just my 2 cents. Take them as you will!

I wouldn't mind joining. I've got 35 days until school starts, and I need to lose about 9-11 pounds before that. I need to lose 19 to get to my goal.
