I weighed in this morning, and the scale said 197.

I am no longer over 200 pounds.

I know you can understand how big a deal this is - no one else seems to get it - but I am just in shock.  But in a good way of course

I started losing when I was at my all time highest (298) and am now down to 225 -- I hope to be down to 140 or less.  :)

I have been getting the same questions over and over again about "what I've been doing" so here is a basic outline of some tips if you want to hear??

Basically, I started out measuring and counting calories and that was good because it helped me to understand how little I actually NEEDED to be eating, in comparison to what I was eating every day... I was genuinely surprised to see my calories per day were in the 3,000 range.  After a while though, I was sick of counting calories and so I did a cleanse for 10 days to help break my sweet cravings, and to shrink my stomach down to normal size -- as in my actual stomach organ...   the cleanse I did was called the Master Cleanse, or the Lemonade Diet... you can download it free from the internet or I can email it to you...

Anyway, I did a few days after that of orange juice and soup, then when I started eating again, I only had fresh fruit and veggies for a further 5 days.

By the time I had done all of this I swear I was losing weight like crazy and for the first time IN MY LIFE I felt HUNGRY.

The key to keeping this in check, is to eat when you feel hungry... and only eat foods you really like.  No really, if you don't really enjoy it, quit eating it.  Also, when I no longer feel hungry, I STOP EATING.  Even if I'm NOT FULL, I STOP.  Why?  Because I can always reheat it later if I'm hungry again.

There is a real battle within between what I call the Head Hunger, and Actual Hunger.  If you do as I said above, you will find that balance.

Plus, there are other things you are going to come up against like the realisation that your first instinct is to eat regardless of what you are doing -- like sometimes we eat on auto-pilot just out of routine, boredom, emotional eating, or just eating and eating for no reason at all.

But if you take the time to listen to your body you will learn what it is that you LOVE, what you cannot live without, what you really just eat because mom told you to and you honestly don't like it ... and you will also find your trigger foods.  I would rule out your trigger foods for a while until you have you head on straight in terms of the head hunger... You will soon find you can eat ANYTHING you want because you no longer require such quantities of food.

OH and also one MAJOR ONE (for me anyway):

IT IS OK TO WASTE FOOD.

YOU KNOW WHY???  Another CC member said something FANTASTIC which stuck with me ever since ...

"If you are satisfied and have that "I really don't want to waste the rest of this" attitude, think about it! If you consume the food, you will digest it and it will still end up turning into WASTE. Or you can throw it away in the waste basket where your body does not have a chance to soak up those calories. Deal? All in all, its waste, so make the right wasteful choice. "
