Original Post by bier:

We've done the accidental pregnancy. It will NOT happen again. We will see how we feel about a third child in 2-3 years and if we decide we're done, hubby's getting snipped!

My wife swears she's done and states that if we ever have another one it will be by accident and then I'm getting the scissors. :P

Weight Loss Do men really judge women by their weight? Sep 01 2009

I'm a guy and I can tell you honestly that the most attractive thing about a woman is her conifdence. If my wife smiles at me and she feels confident I'm putty in her hands. A great majority of "sexy" is personality. Every man has different preferences as far as body build type and so on. I personaly don't find skinny women (like below size 8) attractive. I know friends who like women that are bony. It varies from person to person and also from day to day sometimes. And from what I can tell women are just the same, they all have different preferences. Trying to nail down what's attractive, pretty, sexy, or whatever is like to trying to get a politician to be honest.

As far as trying to get preggers you should check out fertilityfriend.com it may have some info that's useful to you. And the bath should be warm. Apparently a hot bath will wake you up!

Oh yeah and beware stress/depression/imsomnia is a self feeding demon. You're depressed/stressed cause you can't sleep (which affects fertility causing you to stress) so you're bodies wired up and won't let you sleep which amkes you stressed/depressed.. get it? Plan your meals out midday. Take an hour or two before bedtime and unwind, really unwind. Take a notepad to bed with you and if you think of somthing write it down to deal with tomorrow.

I deal with the same problem and found for me that a couple of things help. If it's a sertonin/melatonin issue you can try walking around outside midday for about 15-30 minutes. That helps set your internal clock.  Eliminate your caffeine by around 4:00 pm. A lot of people say 6:00 but as a fellow imsoniac I know that's not enough. Excercise will jolt your body awake and the earlier you can get to excercise and leave yourself time before bed the better off you are. Melatonin may be an option. It's cheap, over the counter, and helps me a lot. Try eating some Turkey it's got triptophan which also helps you feel or get drousy. Lastly try taking a luke warm bath before bed it can help your body come down from stress.

Fitness Calories burned. Jul 08 2008

I learned a while back that you can't trust cc and machinery on calories burned they are more like educated guesses in the dark. I personally use my hrm and calculate burn based on height weight age etc. etc.

As to losing the weight quickly the best thing I know of is throw weights in with your cardio. Use hand and/or ankle weights to vamp up you excercise.

Watch your sodium intake and occasionally take some cranberry pills to flush out any water retention.

Just to balance out the hype I want to point out something from the taco bell guys

To accurately determine representative nutritional information of one of our Fresco products, a careful and unbiased scientist would have tested multiple samples of that product from multiple locations, not simply one product from one location. Your viewers should take this into account and recognize that the calorie and fat gram counts you associate with us are in no way representative of our excellent and delicious Fresco products."

What they said was true you can't go to one store and blast the whole chain based on what you find. I used to manage a pizza hut and know the frustrations in trrying to train employees how to use cups and measureing devices every single time, but when it get's busy cups and standards can very quickly go out the window. My point being that the reporters should have taken more samples. If you want to use the same store fine, pick different times of the day and you will get different cooks and almost certainly different amounts. It's bad reporting to not investigate throughly.

If you take your mind off the traditional look around your house. A gallon of liquid weighs around 8lbs. (think paint cans, milk jugs, etc.)

Pick up a large box and put it on a scale. Push-ups pull-ups and squats are great non-equipment cutting and toning techniques. As far as meat goes there's beans, broccoli, and a huge host of other protein rich veggies.

Lifting weights isn't always about bulk. I would love to stay at my current weight (175) and shrink my waist. replacing fat with muscle is always good and makes it easier to lose fat later!

hmmm.. looking at your pics, your age, your gender.... 1 thing comes to mind

eat some steak and pick up heavy objects! Tongue out

Joking aside at your age you should probably worry more about lifting weight than gaining it.

Foods Do those pictures they put on cereal boxes, of people exercising, ever make you a tiny bit... skeptical? Apr 21 2008

Original Post by caloriecountingme:

that's funny that you interpret the images that way.  i feel like they put "healthy, active" people on the boxes bec those are the ppl that their target audience want to be associated w/.  even if you don't go to the gym or stick to organic foods, maybe you'd like to think you do--so you choose the box of cereal that displays someone jogging w/a bottle of organic juice in their hand.

*Imagines a morbidly obese person buying the cereal in hopes of improving his image.

I've always thought the boxes meant buy this cereal and you too can look like me!!

To get around this I usually put things in in halves to begin with. It can be a pain but if you eat like 2 or 3 servings of something but it's great for 1 and a half's!

mre's are one of those bad but good things. We live where hurricane rita hit and the national guard distributed mre's for us civies. I was eating 2 or 3 mre's a day and really packed on the weight! Some one finally pointed out that most mre's are meant to be spread out through a day not as meal, they are also meant for marines hiking distances while wearing lots of gear. Neither of which I was doing Tongue out

But all the mre's I had posted calories on the bag I just didn't read em!

When my wife got pregnant some amazing things happened to her. She maintained during the first couple of months due to a better diet and then slowly started gaining weight. What amazed me about it is that attitude that people view other people with. She was pregnant had a 9 lb baby in there a 4 or 5 lb placenta several gallons of fluid and yet she and others expected her to not gain weight.

The point is without pictures/measurements to judge by. You nor any of us have a clue as to what is going on. It could be a growth spurt, it could be time of the month (you are female i assume). Heck extra water weight and or constipation can account for 10 lbs. The truth is your weight and height puts you on the healthy to low side of things. You should be thankful that you are not on the other side of the scale. Eat, grow, and when you're finished growing worry about your health not your weight. It's a number. When I was 16 I weighed 175 lbs. i had a 28 in waist. I could squat over 400 lbs and bench over 200. I was in martial arts 3 times a week. Yet the number said I was overweight. almost 10 years later I now weigh close to 175 and im excited that Im out of size 36 pants again. I can barely do 30 squats never mind squat 400. Yet it's the same number. I know I'm overweight. Yet not overweight. I would love to maintain and get back to where I was when I was 16. So don't look at a number. It's a tiny piece of overall health. Measure your self once a week. See where you stand. Lift weights to firm up and eat more.

what was your diet like?

And how old are you that you need to get down to 115? Using the bmi tool your in a healthy weight if a little on the skinny side Punching in 115 I get this from the bmi tool

Based upon your current Body Mass Index (BMI) of 17.5, you are currently classed as underweight.

A healthy BMI for your gender and age is between 20 and 24 and a reasonable weight loss rate is 0.5-2 pounds a week.

So the question is what is your goal weight or how you look because if it's how you look increase your protein and start weight training it will firm up what you have instead of losing any more.

Are you tracking your measurements?

etc.

hmmmm take a protein bar put it in a blender and a banana I love bananas and pour in protein shake mix and add milk, oh and peanut butter. More protein than you can uh use. Tongue out

Seriously though think canned tuna, lean ground turkey, any other fish, beans (more fiber than protein but hey it works) etc. etc. Mostly suplement with protein shakes. When i've 'ad a shake and I'm still low I scarf a can of tuna whole. No carbs, no fuss.
