I don't really like blackberries, no matter where I buy them from they're almost all sour.

Maybe its the aspartame? Not everyone can handle artificial sweeteners well. Its probably best to cut back on either way of course, diet coke is terrible for the drinker on so many levels...

Whenever I've gotten fiber-constapation I find that having anything with sugar-alcohol in it (like sugar free maple syrup or those south beach diet cookies) takes care of the problem.
Health & Support Dinner Ideas? Jul 27 2007

My sister does that, I think she does it as a coping mechanism. She like to eat the same foods every day for months. That's actually what I'm trying to do, because to much variety I think is a binge trigger for me. Hmm, a well-rounded dinner could be a nice hearty salad of any sort, with a drizzle of an olive-oil based dressing, some chicken or lean steak or shrimp, and whatever fruits or veggies you fancy in your salad (maybe some nuts?) +a cup of nonfat or 1% milk to drink. I think all the salads from calorieking.com look good.

http://www.calorieking.com/recipes/Salads-and -Vegetables/Salads/

Or you could just have a peice of grilled meat (about 4-5 oz) and some vegetables eiter roasted or grilled with some fat (either from healthy oils or from some slivered nuts mixed in) and either brown rice or a whole grain bread roll +a glass of skim milk. Another good one can be whole grain pasta (try bartelli please) with tomato sauce or pesto and LOTS of colorful vegetables mixed in. Maybe some chicken or seafood mixed in too. Good luck with recovery!

YES! I have had more fiber than you would believe humanly possible and not been able to stop, so than my poop came out and was just grains basically. I don't care how gross that sounds... anyways, I think the solution is to not load up TOO much on healthy foods, because then you'll have an subconscious feeling that you can eat as much as you want (even though you know that's not true!) because the food won't carry as much guilt.

But those packets have a TON of dressing, no one needs that much. It contains 2 oz (4 tablespoons) per packet. I'm with you, McD's salads rock. Of course, they've been shown to be lowballing their nutrition info in the past by quite a bit, including with their salads.

Diet hot cocoa from swiss miss is the bestest. Its 25 cals a packet, and you can mix it with 4 or 6 ounces of hot water, but it tastes a lot richer and thicker with 4 (don't try watering it down to 8, it tastes gross). Sometimes I'll take my tall sized starbucks cup if I've used it within a day and fill it with water and mix in three packets of diet hot cocoa (75 calories) and mix it RAELLY well and it tastes like a really rich and indulgent hot chocolate cup. You can sip and savor is slowly, its not like pudding which always is gone from the tiny cup before you start practically. Its probably better if you're like me and you're at a point where you're completly resistant to the taste of artificial sweeteners. There's also one by some nestle with mini marshmallows in it for 35 calories or something, but I don't like that one as much.

Hmm, I ended up telling my mom (who just went to the bank and the store) to please pick up some blackberries orblueberries for them, since they're so good and only in season once a year. I'd still love to hear all these suggestions though. I have never had cottage cheese with anything besides fruit or raisons before, and I don't think I've ever thought of it as something that goes with savory stuff before.

I think the best thing instead of getting all nitpicky and having them specialize your oder is to just pick the right thing on the menue and leave the bad stuff on your plate (or just have one bite of it). Just opt for steamed veggies and lean meat or fish as much as possible, and don't have any of the obvious bad stuff like anything fried or greasy. And most importantly of all, listen to your own stomach. I beleive people can eat what they want as long as they stop when they're full and its real food with some protein in it and not just cookies or something like that.

I hate cleaning so much, haha, thank you all though. I definatly try the hunger cue things but its more psycholical than physilogical for me. No matter how much water I've just drank, I can't keep my hands off the breadloaf. Just a nibble, I tell myself.... I almost feel compulsed to go into the kitchen, even when I tell myself not to. Often as I'm eating, I'll be thinking about ways to lose wieght and calculating in my head just how many calories and protein and fat I'm consuming as I go. I don't know why I can't tell myself to stop. Its the weirdest thing. And when I eat, my mind ALWAYS goes automatically to dieting. I think I'm the only person in the world with my new type of eating disorder. Obsession with weight loss and IMMENSE overwhelming fear of becoming fat ----> eating more. Why? It makes no sense.

I have a long-awaited appointment with a therapist of Tuesday, but my last therepist (for anorexia) didn't help at all. I got better when I dropped her and started eating on my own bu conquering my fears myself. The whole "get tharapy and then it will all be better" is my mother's attitude. I really can't stand it. I'm trying to find a way to take my life back on my own, and I was hoping since a lot of people on this site appearantly have been through stuff like this, they can give me the same advice that any therapist would parrot.

God, my mother completly lacks empathy. She yells at me about eating to much of the little food we have in the house, despite the fact that I'm open about my food addiction, then she yells at my brother about the fact that he skipped dinner to play his online role-playing game that he's addicted to (and is his entire life). This may sound weird from someone who has never had a gaming addiction and hates all video games, but I completly empathize with my brother because I know what addictions can do to you. Its really hard when its something you would never expect to get addicted to, not like drugs or anything, and REALLY hard when its something you can't just quit cold-turkey like food. I always wish I could just give up food for good and get on with my life, but that can never happen.
