| I've applied to several places, and I want to major in Classics with a minor (or possibly a double major if I can handle it) in philosophy. Grad school after that, then law school. Who knows, I'll probably either be a lawyer or a teacher/professor. | |||

| I don't really like to eat until late afternoon, so I don't take much. Usually an apple or orange, sometimes a sandwich. Today I had jam on a slice of wheat bread that was really good. I love raspberry jam. When I buy my lunch and feel extra hungry, I usually go to the bakery/sandwich shop and get a cup of homemade soup and some pieces of garlic foccacia. | |||

| Young Calorie Counters | How old were you when you had your first kiss? | Jan 24 2008 20:07 (UTC) |

I was 14 (18 now) and it was awkward. The sweet boy down the block visiting his aunt for the summer kissed me behind the fence in the evening. Except we stood there looking at each other and talking out a plan for how long it should last and where to put hands. Literally. Then I was so startled by the tongue that I didn't kiss back at all. : / I've had a lot of dates to dances, but no actual dates because I haven't had an actual boyfriend, haha. There have been some not-so-sober hookups at parties with guy friends, though. My attitude towards high school dating is straight out of Ten Things I Hate About You, when Julia Stiles says, "Have you SEEN the unwashed miscreants who go to that school!?" |

| Replace more beverages with just plain water. Your average glass of fruit juice has about 100-150 cals, and milk has 120. So just cutting out one glass of that a day will save the 100 calories. | |||

Hi, I'm Liz and I'm eighteen. I used to post around here over the summer but then school got in the way of that and my diet. Anyway, here I am again. Height: 5'2 Current weight: 122 Short term goal: 115 Long term goal: 105 Usually I eat around 1100-1300 calories a day and exercise off anywhere from 50 to 500 per day...I either go all out or do barely anything, haha. I'm not looking for a buddy who's really obsessed with their diet, because I've found that every time I throw myself into a diet I treat it as a diversion, get bored, and quit after a few weeks. I guess I'd like to partner with someone who's dedicated but definitely considers their diet a secondary aspect of life. |

| I love DDR too! I burned 650 in two hours on "difficult." I usually play four times a week or so, from anywhere between one and three hours. It's the only heavy cardio exercise I've ever enjoyed, and it's especially nice now that the snow is keeping my bike in the garage. | |||

| I bought a pair of jeans at H&M that are very flattering. Of course, it's a European store, so I had to get the 29Xwhatever length, even though my waist is nowhere near a 29. Anyway, they're straight leg dark solid wash. They really make my hips look straight. | |||

| Haha, I get that sort of crap all the time and I have no boobs. I'm a big A/small B. It's probably my butt, which is fairly prominent, lol. I have a decent hourglass. Anyhow, a couple of weeks ago some guys called out to me, "Hey J-lo! Nice ass!" from their car while I was walking down the street. I used some foul language and threw the drink I was holding at their car. It was pretty funny. : D | |||

| Good evening ladies! I had a FANTASTIC day of exercise! I did 25 minutes of fast uphill walking and 35 minutes of very fast biking in a hilly area! I have yet to add in my 10 minutes of Pilates-based abs work and I will be in business. Tomorrow I'm planning on kicking up my exercise to a full two hours. Good luck on the challenge, everyone! | |||

| Maybe now that you've started losing so significantly, you've realized what a long way you have to go. You should think about how much you've accomplished and what a great feat that is! 97 pounds is absolutely AMAZING! You've done this much, so you'll definitely be able to make your goal. You'll get there! | |||

| The Lipton Citrus is really bad for you. It has tons and tons of sugar and most of that is based in high-fructose corn syrup. It's probably more chemicals than actual tea... | |||

| I don't think people should jump to the conclusion that others are underweight. There are naturally slender people. Especially at that age. My best friend is 17, 5'8, and 105. She doesn't exercise and she thinks dieting is retarded. Of course, grapesrule should be eating many times the calories she has been and it's HORRIBLY unhealthy to even consider eating that little. But it's unfair to say anyone is underweight when you don't know their build, lifestyle, or medical history. | |||
| Weight Loss | IS THIS OKAY? | Jul 11 2007 05:52 (UTC) |

| oh yuck, it isn't even necessarily that it's fattening (it is, but that isn't the issue I take with it)....it's just SO bad for your body. How about instead you make some homemade waffles with whatever you like on it and fresh fruit and orange juice? That's a tasty treat that's also good for you. Also, if you haven't eaten fast food in 7 months I can guarantee that you'll feel really sick afterwards and it won't be worth it anyway. Trust me, I speak from experience, lol. | |||

| I was thinking about your problem just now, and I remembered that a good option is sitting right in front of me! You should buy the workout DVD "Pilates Weight-Loss Workout For Dummies." I got mine at Target for $10 and I love it. I haven't been using it much lately since I've been doing more running, but it features 20 minutes of aerobics-based workout and 15 minutes of classic Pilates floor work. The aerobics section is really great because it is cardio-based but you hardly notice. It includes a lot of variations of squats and that sort of thing, but it's really fun. You don't do a whole lot of repetitions of the same exercise, so you focus on the quality of each movement instead of just getting through it. It does wonders for your thighs and abs...I noticed a change in the way my pants fit after just four days! The floor work also rocks. Awesome for your tummy, which is what you said you want. | |||

| You could do weight training instead of cardio. That won't strain your lungs. I don't think you need to lose any weight. I'm about your same height and have been close to your weight before, so I have a good idea about what 5'1" and 109 looks like. However, it's always always always good to tone up, which is probably all you need. Try Pilates, they're great for making long, lean muscles--which is what we shorties need! Also lifting light weights (3-5 lbs) for your arms firms them up nicely. Toning your muscles gives your metabolism a kick in the pants, so even though you can't do cardio because of your asthma, your body will be busier and that alone can help you lose. Good luck! | |||
