Original Post by pamperedkeri2000: Are you sure its the aspartame and not caffeine? I get headaches if I drink a lot of caffeine then stop or if I don't have it for a long time then have a diet coke. I've only experienced this with pop, not artificially sweetened lemonade or ice cream or anything else. |

| Weight Loss | Tall Women 5'9" or taller! | Jun 24 2009 21:29 (UTC) |

Tall ladies!! There are always so many of these threads, everyone is so proud haha. I don't have a problem so much with my body image as just my height! I hate being taller then everyone! I refuse to wear heels. I also can't stand how hard it is to buy clothes.. I need long pants and shirts are always too short. Plus I have big boobs but a pretty small frame. Shirts are impossible too!! ugh! One of these day tall women need to start making more clothes, theres not enough out there! I am just trying to lose the last few pounds. I am 6' and my current weight is 147, goal of 140. I have a super small frame (except my hips which are giant!) so even at 147 I still have those dang love handles I can't seem to get rid of! Anyone else feel like those things will just never go away?! |

A couple years my boobs grew due to gaining weight and starting birth control at the same time. I just lost about 25 pounds and I don't think an ounce of it came from my boobs as I am 6', weigh 140 and wear a 34D. I think it just depends on the person, but I definitely attribute them to the BC. |

Wow. I haven't posted in so long! I've been so busy at work and thats usually when I get on here. I am pretty close to my goal weight so I haven't been very strict about my diet, eating some food I never used to eat. I only worked out once this week and still somehow managed to lose weight? I'm guessing its not real but SW: 170 CW: 143 GW: 140 dplatzer: I weigh myself on those scales too. I was soooo happy when I could move that big chunky weight down to 100! Its so exciting and I'm happy your getting close! |

So I ran my 5K this weekend. A little dissapointed in myself. I had to stop and walk a little bit in the last mile. I have been running early mornings- around 530 when its nice and cool out. By 830 Saturday it was already hot and humid and the sun was beating down on me. I probably could have pushed myself to finish but oh well next time I suppose. |

It just amazes me how many different things people try to come up with to lose weight without any effort. Get off your lazy butt and exercise! (With the exception of those who have medical conditions who can't, of course |

I'm training to run a half marathon on oct 12 as well! I am running a 5K this saturday and a 10K Sept 9th. I have never been a runner before so this isn't exactly starting over from a break, more like starting fresh. The most I've ever run in the past is 3 miles and I get on and off running spurts. We have a program at the gym where I work that laid out a 3 1/2 month running plan so hopefully I can stick to it. sybil: Not sure how big of a runner you are but I def couldnt start mid august! Also, for my 5k this weekend, do you guys usually eat anythign before a shorter run like that-if so what do you eat? |

Yay for Friday! So I seem to be stuck at 149. Was the same weight last week. I'm sure its the fact that I keep going out of town on weekends and not worrying so much about what I'm eating. Going out of town AGAIN this weekend to Indianapolis. I'm staying at a hotel which means eating out all weekend. I hope I can find some low cal options! Good luck for the weekend to everyone- I know thats definitely the hardest for me. Have a great weekend! |

systemp-Its a little hard to educate yourself when you have no idea what they are adding to this food, or the quantity of things like butter they are adding. When your calorie counting, even a small difference can change whether your over or under for they day. How am I supposed to know how many calories are in their food if I'm not preparing it? Granted I understand a burger and fries is going to be loaded with calories but there are some choices that may shock you how many calories are in them and would definitely shock someone who wasn't an avid calorie counter to begin with. |

Its Friday! So I usually weigh in Thursday afternoons, but worked out in the morning. Its crazy the weight difference! I was 145 in the morning and was around 149 wednesday afternoon- I'm sure I didn't lose 4 pounds in one night! So I'm going to go with CW- 149 GW-140ish chescaleigh- you can have my extra height! I hate it, I would love to be somewhere around 5'6" or 5'7". Six foot drives me nuts! Carolally- Have fun at your wedding! I'm jealous, I love going to weddings. So this weekend I'm going to watch my brother race (quartermidgets, sort o like go carts). We stay in a camper so my family usually just buys food from the concession stand for lunches. I hope there's sandwiches or something, otherwise this could turn out to be a high calorie weekend. Maybe I'll stop at the store and get some low cal snacks? |

That's a good idea made, but like you said... I would continue to "just eat a quarter" until I ate the whole thing anyway haha. I wish I had health conscious people in my office, we seem to have donuts, muffins, unhealthy lunches, etc brought in all the time. Definitely a true testimony to my will power :) |

SW: 150 CW:149.5 not really a loss but it is TTOM so I didn't expect to lose anything GW:140-145 not sure just yet Ate lots of food this weekend I shouldn't have so this week is for getting back on track and losing any water weight I put on this weekend and from TOM. |

I find it pretty amusing how many people found this outrageous when I've seen posts displaying pictures of extremely skinny people and talking about how disgusting they are. Whats the difference? You can make fun of skinny people but not fat people? I didn't have time to read the last 2 pages of posts but the original ones made fun of people who are 100 pounds and no one went up in arms about that? Im not an overweight person but I'm tired of the skinny jokes that are not considered "taboo" when even making a slight comment about someone overweight leaves you with a bunch of people telling you how rude you are. |

Garnet I dont think people are saying you shouldnt have fun as an adult but when your young you have much less to worry about, no bills, kids, 40 hour job. Its your time to really enjoy the simple life before your thrust out in the real world. I agree with lifeizsweet, I'm trying to eat healthy and lose a little weight but I really don't care if it takes a little longer because I let loose on weekends. If all my friends are heading out to get burgers and head to the bar, I'd rather do that then worry about calories for the night. |

I recently got one and couldnt seem to get it to work. It just kept telling me to walk around to find the sensor. So I went back and got a new one and still can't get it to work. Has anyone else had this problem? I think I've had the thing sitting on my dresser so long I can't take it back :/ |

I listen to myself. Only I can decide what is going to make me happy. Families and friends opinions help along the way but when it comes down to it, if your not happy with yourself, then do what is best for you. |

Hello all! I know I'm a little late but can i still join in? I have been looking for a forum for tall women that actually keeps going! I joined a couple in the past but after a week or so everyone sort of dropped out and never updated! I'm 6' and have been calories counting off and on for awhile but started to get more serious around January. starting weight- 170 current weight- 150 goal weight- 140-145 (going to see how I feel at 145 and then go from there :) I love that you girls have similar goals! I find that because I'm so tall people think 145 is wayyy to skinny but I have such a small frame and not much muscle, so I'm certain I will not look too skinny! I'm sort of near the end but that seems to be the hardest because I'm already so happy with my progress I don't have quite as much motivation to keep myself going. I am in college right now and intern every other quarter. I seem to do really well when working and then not so well when I go back to school-usually just maintaining and not losing. I just started working again in the summer and hopefully I can lose enough before school starts again to just continue maintaining! Cari- I found that going too low with calories pretty much halted my weight loss and upping it back up to 1500-1600 jump started it again. I know its different with everyone but just my experience. chocolate- I know how you feel about pasta! I love any kind of pasta and bread. If I could eat it for every meal I most certainly would!

As a college student I completely understand. If I didn't drink on weekends I'd be going to movies by myself or something LOL. Sad, but true, weekends revolve around bars and then the munchies start to hit it. I definitely try to "save up" calories during the week and eat as healthy as possible during the day Friday so that I have lots of leftover calories for beer. I have managed to lose 20 pounds so drinking beer is not an impossibility for weight loss. You just have to work a little harder during the week and be OK with a little slower loss! |

I disagree that the 8 glasses per day includes other sources. It literally means 8 glasses of pure water per day. It does mean 8 glasses a day from all sources- you don't actually need 8 full glasses of water if your eating lots of fruit and things that contain water. You just need to make up for water you lose throughout the day by any means. |

Hey I'm in pretty much the same boat! I'm 21, 6 feet tall, 150 pounds. I have a really small frame and not muscular so I'm trying to get down to 145 pounds, possibly 140 depending on how I feel when I get to 145. I Started out at 170ish and I've done the basics. Try to have a 500-600 calorie deficit between the amount you eat and burn and you'll drop those 5 pounds in a month. Good luck and let me know if you'd like to have a buddy to help with motivation along the way! |

| Weight Loss | Stupid question, how does beer affect weight loss? | Jun 26 2008 12:28 (UTC) |

Sara, I'm not sure if your talking about during the week or usually weekends but I am in college and will admit I drink 7-8 beers a night on the weekends. I usually try to have a 600 calorie deficit during the week. I'm not sure how much you are trying to lose but on weekends I usually give myself one free day and then try to still have at least a 400 calorie deficit the other and start back up again sunday. I have lost 20 pounds doing this. I understand everyone's concerns with alcohol not being healthy and full of sugar but to me a calorie is a calorie and if I can factor in 800 calories for beer and still be under it works for me. |

| Weight Loss | Any other 6' + tall women out there? | Feb 21 2008 18:10 (UTC) |

I'm about 6'1" tall as well, 20 years old. According to CC I also have a small frame. I started my weight loss around 170 and am now down to 155. My goal is 145 but depending on how I feel when I get to 150 I might just stop there :) It is definitely a little frustrating when you lose so much and can't even go down a pants size when your "shorter" friend loses about 6-8 pounds and looks amazingly skinnier! haha but I guess it better for the opposite when we gain weight. I used to swim and in high school I wasn't quite as tall, probably closer to 5'9" or 10" and weighed 113 pounds(I now realize that was way too skinny)! I ate like crazy and didn't worry about anything I put in my mouth. Its so hard to go from eating whatever whenever to counting calories of anything I put in my mouth! Those darn college pounds! aha |
