I'm in the place you are. I have been eating badly for about 3 weeks now and all the weight gain seems to be coming at once. What's worse is I'm getting married in 6 months and want to look good in my dress! You would think that would be motivation enough, but i'm like "oh, i've got 6 months!" or i just think the weight is magically going to fall off at the end lol... Is there a friend at school, home, or one here you can ask to be a buddy to? Someone to help keep you motivated when you feel like something bad? I am going to start eating better on Monday - kind of like a Raw food diet only with protein from chicken/fish - and i'm going to buy a lunch box to keep with me all day, so whenever i'm hungry - i have to eat one of my healthy snacks from there and not go to the vending machine or a fast food place. So i'm right there with you and hopefully we can get out of this rut soon! Good luck :) |

i eat pretty healthy throughout the week and try to on weekends. I do allow myself one "cheat" day but i don't overdue it. One that day I will go easy on myself and eat around the same amount of cals i burned (1620 with no workout) instead of creating a 500-600 deficit. I will try to eat most of my meals healthy, but if i want a drink or two or two pieces of cake, I will. I just don't let the whole day be a complete diet bust, but just 1 meal or a snack here and there. Hope this helps! |

Personally I go by the week. I'll try to aim for a 500-600 calorie deficit a day (i'm trying to lose a few pounds). But there will be one day a week where i won't count cals or will have 0 deficit. The next day i'll just try to eat healthy, but aim for a little higher deficit of 600-700 to make up for my day of not watching calories. |

I have the same problem. I'm trying to drink more water, but even if i drink 20 oz a day i'll go to the bathroom a good 10-15 times :( I hate it. I'm just hoping that as i continue to up my water intake everyday, my body will just get used to it and i wont go as much. |

I had been on CC for over a year before i got my HRM. The calories on here were NOT accurate! It said i burned far more calories then i really did. I didn't realize how much effort is needed to actually burn 300 calories! It also motivates me to keep going even though i'm tired because i really want to make sure i reach 300 cals burned or whatever it is that i'm aiming for that day. I love my HRM and would suggest everyone get one. I use it to not only count calories, but make sure i'm within my target heart rate so i'm burning the most fat for my workout. I spent about $150 on my Polar. There are cheaper ones, but i recommend getting a little bit more expensive one that will give you the best results and last longer. |

i agree... cookies are my WEAKNESS - i can literally have 10 in one sitting! So having that splenda ad there makes me struggle the 30 times i log in here everyday :( |

I've been in somewhat of a similar situation. I have a really close guy friend whom i've been friends with forever and we're very comfortable with each other - we can tell each other anything, even if it's about sex with someone else or whatever. He always liked me and constantly told me that he loved me (never expecting me to say it in return). I never felt the same way about him that he did me. I loved him as a friend. I knew he'd be a great catch for someone, but like you, didn't feel that "spark." The topic of me and him having sex never came up but I can tell you that if we had had sex, things would definitly not be the same. I don't think we would be able to be as close as we still are. This was a few years ago, now he has a gf that is pregnant and i am on my way to being engaged! I'm really glad we didn't take our friendship to the next "level" because things would not be the same today. Hope this helps! |

just last week i bought TOFU for the first time. I've only used half of it and it maybe be good mixed in spices, but i decided to try something i saw online. TOFU "Fries" - EWWWWWWW!!! They did not taste like french fries at all! The outside was partially hard/partially soft and the inside was rubbery... never again! |

another creation to dip strawberries in (i use it for parties) is lemon or lime yogurt - usually the light kind - and mix it with some fat free cool whip. So it's like a cream cheese fruit dip only lighter :) |

I don't drink as much water as i should. So i know where your coming from. First it's bland, second... if i drink too much i feel sick, and third... if i even drink a 16.9 oz bottle i'll go to the bathroom at least 15 times a day (small bladder!) Try drinking the first 28 oz plain or with lemon and the second bottle with a crystal light :) |

I totally understand where you're coming from. I once had a bf i couldn't trust and would snoop all the time because i felt i had to. I found out some pretty bad things that once i confronted him, he would lie about or find some way to get around it. Needless to say, the relationship didn't last very long. Now I am with a great guy whom i trust very much. Just last week something did come up that i found and i asked him about it and he explained and everything is now fine. If you do talk to your bf you have to be careful in your wording - how talk to him. Tell him your sorry for snooping but you saw something and it bothered you a little. Don't make too big a deal about it or don't get angry/mad at him because then he'll get defensive. I am just like you and wouldn't be able to let it go until i asked. Maybe wait a week and see if it's still bothering you. Then if it is, ask him about it. It is probably nothing. Guys are guys. By the things you said, he sounds like a good guy and if you trust him then he's probably not the kind of guy that would cheat on you. Good luck :) |

i usually get bloated right before my period - 2 days or so before and definitely during my period i'm extremely bloated. I usually gain 3 pounds and lose it by the time my period's done. I do NOT weigh myself during this time lol |

| yeah there was a thread on it before. My mom is a psychologist and uses the "tapping technique" (otherwise known as EFT) on clients for about 2 years. But she does it on things like dealing with rejection, abuse, etc... She said she's tried it on herself for chocolate, but it doesn't work lol... she just wants to EAT the chocolate! I use the tapping technique for relaxation or if i'm stresses or anxious, haven't tried it on the eating and i probably won't. I like my chocolate and i figure as long as i'm eating healthy and exercising, i can incorporate it into my diet. | |||

That's a great idea to make that list. I had made "motivational" sayings and posted them up in my room. Things like: "Think of how you'll feel afterwards." "There's no food that tastes as good as losing weight feels." "Eat to live, don't live to eat."
And that was like a month ago, and now i've totally forgot about them lol! But i'm finally starting to see results from the past 3 weeks of working out. Last week was my first week of really "healthy" eating. I know i HAVE to keep it up, otherwise my life will be like the past 2 years... and i'll NEVER have a healthy lifestyle. |

| The zone has some of these similar principles. Eat a carb with a protein, fat, etc... It sounds like a good idea especially since i'm hypoglycemic. AND i always have major sugar cravings. I'm trying to incorporate it more into my diet. | |||

I have the same problem as you. Bust my butt workout out, do really well for a while. Think "hey, i'm looking good... why don't i just eat this whopper and fries?!" Or something like that. I'm about the same as you... i'm around 132-133 right now and would like to be 125. But i've just started to incorporate weight training into my routine. So now i'm starting to realize that i may stay this weight... just lose the "pudge" and gain muscle. But i totally understand what you mean about how you start to feel so happy about your body, then figure you can eat this or that since you're starting to look good. I have been on this cycle for the past 3 years!! And i'm ready for it to STOP TOO!! |

that's great news!! I'm getting ready to start the couch to 5k program. I have never been able to go more than 1 minute without getting out of breath. So i'm really excited to set this goal and accomplish it! Have you notice any inches coming off from your stomach? That's my main problem area and it would be great if i could lose weight there! |

ok that makes me feel better. I mean, i was really starting to get worried! I've pulled my ab muscles before, but it's usually gone within a day. This is so bad that i couldn't even sleep last night!! I also kind of feel sick to my stomach. Like the soreness from pulling the muscles is making me nauseous... if that makes any sense! My belly is just sticking out more than normal and i just wanted to make sure that nothing is wrong! |

The tapping thing he is doing is called EFT... my mom is a psychologist and she's actually been using this on clients for about 2 years. Not for weight loss, but about other issues such as rejection, abandonment, abuse, anything really! The tapping part of it ISN'T hypnosis. It's about aligning the body and mind. It sounds weird i know, but i've done it! I've used it on myself for issues of rejection from my dad. I actually think it works. My mom has had lots of success with it for clients. I'm not sure about weight loss, never tried it!! Maybe i should?? I told her about it and she's gonna watch it sunday night and see if this guy's for real. |
