| Weight Loss | Do your thighs touch (ladies only please)? | Aug 05 2007 18:20 (UTC) |

| Mine have always touched, even when I was 16 and 120lbs. I cant wear short short or my thighs seem to eat them!
My aerobics instructor (who is buff and has about 16% bf) complains about hers touching, too. She says the only way she has ever seen any difference is by doing inner thigh work with the resistance band. If you get a step bench, lie on your back with the resistance band looped underneath, stick your feet in the handles of the resistance band, so that the hard part of the handle is on the bottom of your feet. Put your feet in the air, directly above your abs, and open and close your legs. Open as far as you can without being uncomfortable. I have seen a difference but they still touch. So I agree that it is body type and your mother! |

| Spinning is awesome! It is in a class that the instructor guides you on "rides" and has upbeat music to go along. You are petaling constantly sometimes fast, sometimes slow, sometimes sitting, sometimes standing. You can adjust the intensity to suit your needs. The instructor says quarter turn to the right and I do 1/8 turn, or not at all. You get into a zone with the music and actually imagine hils and trees and rocks. Much more engaging than a machine. Talk about sweating buckets! Only downside.
I was getting bored with my cardio - eliptical, running on tredmill, or the stairstepper. I started 3 weeks ago with 2 classes a week. I think I've lost a few lbs, but not sure. I have read that this should not be your only cardio routine because it isolates certain muscles. Just go to a class! Get there early so the instructor can help set up you bike. Your bum will hurt the first few times but it goes away. |

| Love your thighs, ladies. Nothing wrong with 22 inch thighs... I'm 5'6, 140 lbs, weight train 2x a week and do cardio at least 4 hours a week. I feel like I'm in shape, but do like my food. We can't all be supermodels. Stop obsessing! | |||
