| Today I convinced myself to drink lots of water and tea when I got hungry. Took all the snacks away from my desk and put them in the lunch room. The good thing is I can't leave my desk because I'm the only one to answer phones all day, so that helps me stop the mindless snacking, the bad thing.... I have to call someone to cover me because I have to pee a lot :) | |||

| Jetranger i know how you feel, I'm leaving to go back to school next week and so I keep getting invites to dinners for before I leave.. and invites to dinners for once i get to school. :( I agree with steph about eating before you go, then just a light salad or appitizer once you get there. For me to much grease/fat makes me really sick so I get to use that to explain why I choose salads... just a possibility if you dont want to be hassiled about ordering salad.
This is probably out of the budget ( I know it would be for me if my parents wern't paying for it) but if you really want to skip the dinner do something like a BBQ. I'm having one tonight with my friends who I want to see before I leave. I had my mom buy some chicken along with the normal burgers and such, that way I can just have that along with some veggies..a healthy alternative and it won't seem odd.... stephguest I totally know what your taking about with the music... I'm a dancer as well and sometimes I just want to break out into coreography mid treadmill... ha. Watching TV shows during my work out helps alot. Especialy ones with a good plot. Yesterday I was watching Charmed (not nesicarily a god example :D) but I was done with my 45 minutes on the ellipitical and didn't want to get off until the show was over haha. Rachel Ray is always good to because I love to see the end result of those 30 minute meals....however it just makes me hungry :) |

| Weight Loss | Camp counselor next week - suggestions? | Aug 15 2007 21:04 (UTC) |

| ...random but I'm REALLY interested in doing the camp counselor thing next summer... any ideas as to where I can find a good camp. I used to go to a horse camp when I was younger, but its very religious based and they make you send in all types of recomendations about your life with christ... unfortuantly witht he busy life of a college student and going to school out of state... (along with my veering path...) I haven't been constantly going to church in a couple years... so that rules that camp out... anyway I live in Oregon... doesn't need to be here.. or even where your a counselor, just a general idea on where to find camps in need... :) | |||

| The thing is CC says if I want to reach my goal weight by september 1st (my goal day) than I need to limit myself to 1200 calories a day.
But is that 1200 a day after I work out? So say I eat 1200 then go to the gym and burn 700ish.. do I need to make those up? |

| I can, no joke, put peanut butter on almost anything and love it 10x more.... seriously it makes my day everytime I taste it.
I've found that sometimes even just a peanut butter granola bar (chewy low fat...90 calories) will do the trick for the day... then other days i need my resses! :) |

| Weight Loss | Any College Kids Trying To Lose Weight?? | Aug 01 2007 19:44 (UTC) |

| I almost feel like I ate more at school because I was bored. During the summer I'm busy... at work all day and then I have a routine where I hit the gym and head home for dinner... literly my life in a nut shell. Classes are so spontanious at school and i dont work every day there that its hard. I think attending the classes at teh gym might help me... routine seems to be my best bet. I also think that because I'm pay for my membership at the gym at home I tend to want to use it more... where as the one at school is "free." | |||

| I think who you live with also makes a huge deal. Last year I was in a dorm with 2 girls, one of which loved health food...however i think she might have been a bit anorxic... the other one ate whatever she wanted and didn't gain a pound... rough I know. This year I'm living in a house with the healthy girl... and hopefully it will help to be able to cook better foods for myself!
oh and I totally kno what your taking about with the gym sl*t's as we call them.... the healthy eater also applies an extra pound of make-up before she goes to the gym... yuck. |

| man I've been waiting for so long to find a post like this!
I'm not sure how much weight I gained in my freshmen year because I never weighed myself before I left. But i know for a fact that I did gain weight. It was probably about 5lbs... not bad but I could totaly tell that my body changed. I went from being a very active girl (dance team does that to ya) to having chub over my jeans. I tried to go to the gym as much as possible but with school, and the beer...its tough. I have lost that weight and probably a few more pounds since summer started....but thats with watching what I eat and working out EVERYDAY. Any thoughts on cheep, healthy food to cook at school... and snacks... I love to snack :) |

| Weight Loss | Vent: People who are delusional about their size... | Jul 26 2007 21:23 (UTC) |

| I can't handle when people shove weight in your face like that. My best friend tries to get me to eat crap all the time, because she can and she stays skinny and she loves that fact.
Before I started loosing weight I had menchioned that I had to buy new jeans because my old ones (we were the same size) were to small and she said..and I quote..."oh good, I'm the cute one now." ouch huh? |

| Weight Loss | how much will I gain if.. | Jul 25 2007 23:18 (UTC) |
|
| I'm not sure if I'm understanding your post right but I was wondering if your using the "up the calories" for a while to loose weight? Does that work? I work out everyday (burning around 700 cal at the work outs --according the machines and the website) and watch my calories keeping them around 1200 a day or so. I seem to be stuck as far as weight loss goes, but i can tell i've gained muscle... any advice on how to get over the hump? | |||
| Fitness | Muscle Mass....or just slowed matabilism? HELP | Jul 25 2007 16:14 (UTC) |
2 |
| I work out for 2 hours everyday. About an hour and a half of cardio then 30-45 minutes of weightlifting. I switch off everyday between leg and arm work outs. It wouldn't be as though I gained 3 pounds or so in a week... its that I droped 5 pounds... then gained one back in about two months. I'm eating between 1000 - 1300 calories a day.
Also I've heard that if I stop working out for about a week (still eating healthy) then go back to the gym this might help to loose more weight...but I'm affraid that if i dont go to the gym the weight will come racing back... any thoughts on this? |
