I started this program on Tuesday.  I'll be doing my second workout tonight and I'm so excited!  I've never been excited about working out before, but I just can't wait!  I love how simple the moves are, yet they feel super effective.  I upped my calories, and I am a little worried I'll start to gain weight.  I'm going to give it a few weeks, and I'll adjust as needed.

Current Weight: 136
Progress This Week: Gained 1 lb.  its TTOM, so I'm not sure what my weight loss actually is.  I normally gain a little during, but end up lighter the next week.
Hooray for Me: I've started a new workout program and I'm loving it!  I also went to an inservice (I'm a teacher) with lots of goodies and snacks.  I was able to successfully stay away from the entire snack table.. Yay!

Needs Improvement: I bought dark chocolate as an after dinner treat.  I've been very bad with it and not eating the appropriate amount.  I didn't pig out and eat the entire thing, but I still have control issues with sweets.  I've learned though.  :-)  No dark chocolate at the grocery store next week.

I also just started this workout and eating plan.  I'm so happy to be eating more than the 1300 calories i had been eating.. I'm really afraid that it will make me gain, but as long as I continue to exercise, I think I'll be okay.  Its nice to read a book that actually tells you its okay to eat :-).

I love coffee, so coffee is one of my cheat things everyday :-).  Its worth the calories I waste on it.  I put 1 tsp of sugar and about 2 table spoons of half and half.  Sometimes I'll use splenda and a little sugar instead of straight sugar.  Coffee is just something that doesn't taste right to me if it is sweetened with just splenda.  I need a little sugar for it to taste right.  mmmm coffee.

I would like to join.  This sounds like the perfect group for me.

I married my husband at 19 weighing 136 lbs and insecure about my weight.  I gained 30 lbs during our first 2 years of marriage because of laziness and problems with portion control.  I found myself eating the exact same amounts he ate, which was practically double what I needed to be eating.  After a trip to Florida to visit my husband's parents, I realized that my eating habits and weight were out of control. My top weight and size was 165 in a size 14.  I started to research healthy eating habits and calories.  Since July 2007, I have lost 36 lbs (gained back 5 this summer) and am currently sitting at 135.  I would like to lose about 15 more pounds.

Short breakdown for the skimmers out there :-)

Is this a book a beginning weight lifter could use? I'm just starting to get serious about lifting weight and was wondering if this would be  a good book to buy, or if I need to "build up" to it :-)

I use my airpopper for my popcorn.  I also use a little olive oil spray instead of  butter.  It cuts out a lot of calories, and is tasty.  It doesn't taste the same as yummy buttery popcorn, but its a good substitute.

I'm having such a hard time with my diet as the school year starts.  The new year makes me very tired, and this makes me lazy in my diet and exercise life.  I'm struggling to watch what I eat and exercise on a regular basis.  Hopefully my first graders will get set in our routine soon, and I'll feel less tired all the time :-).  Do we want to do weekly weigh ins or anything like that with this group?  I think i need some weight loss buddies to keep me accountable.  :-)

I'm a teacher also, and I DO NOT have a candy jar in my room.  I can't resist it if it is there! I found last year that if I never offer the kids candy as a reward, its not something they miss.  I use stickers, prize box, extra computer time, homework passes, and extra recess time as rewards instead.

My big problem at school last year was that after I noticably lost weight, everyone liked to poke at me about my eating habits.  You know, the little comments like "Oh, she NEVER eats!" and such.  I, of course eat tons, just tons of healthy stuff.  Those kind of comments always made me want to eat the junk in the teachers lounge just to prove that I did eat!  I got over that, but its still a constant struggle to not eat the sweets :-)

May I join you as well?

I am starting my second year teaching first grade.  I started the beginning of the school year last year at 164 lbs.  I was able to get down to 130 by the end of the year.  Summer is a hard time for me because I'm so lazy!  I ended up gaining about 5lbs over the summer, and I'm trying to get back into my healthy eating and exercising routines.

My school system changed our lunch schedules this year, and we now only get 25 minutes for lunch.  When you work with young children and have to scoot them through the lunch line, a 25 minute lunch turns into about 15 minutes of actual eating time.  I'm having a hard time eating my entire lunch, and by the time I get home at around 4:00-4:30ish, I'm so hungry that I practically eat the entire house.  I guess this is my new weight loss obstacle this year! :-)

I'm looking to lose about 15 more pounds.  I would also like to get into pretty good shape.

Here are my stats in case you didn't read the entire post and want it in a nice compact format :-)

Weight Loss does fiber help you lose weight? Apr 15 2008

Be wary of the Fiber One bars.  They taste wonderful and have loads of fiber, but they give you horrid gas.  And its not the "I just started eating fiber and my system can't handle it" kind of gas.  I eat about 40-50g of fiber a day and have for upwards of 8 months now, and my husband gets aobut 30g.  We both got horrid gas from the Fiber one bars.

For lunch everyday I eat 1/3 a cup of All-Bran bran buds (13g of fiber) and 1 serving of Fiber One Yogurt (5g of fiber I think).  Thats 18g of fiber and 150 calories.  I also combine the bran buds with 3/4 a cup of Rasin Bran in the morning.  This gives me about 18g or so more.  Its pretty easy to get all the fiber you need, you just have to pay attention to the labels when you buy things.

I am currently about 11 pounds away from my goal weight.  My start weight was 165 in September and Ihit  my current weight of 136 around the first of January.  I have not lost a pound since then and I am super frustrated.  I think my frustration comes from motivation.  I have lost my drive and motivation to continue losing the weight.  I get compliments on my hard work, and it makes me feel like I don't need to keep going.  I started my weight loss for myself, and I want to finish it for myself, but it is hard to stay motivated!  I have continued my healthy eating because I truly enjoy eating healthy, but I have slacked off on my exercise.

I'm an elementary school teacher.  I'm lucky because I teach first grade, and they still have snack time in first grade.  I am able to eat a good breakfast, then lunch around 10:50.  We then eat our afternoon snack around 1:30.  The kids always bring in some kind of sugary mess, but I'm able to eat my banana or yogurt or whatever without having to sacrifice teaching time.  I've had to eat while my kids were doing something because of a little dizy feeling, and my kids really don't seem to notice or care if I have to have a quick snack while they're finishing up a paper or something.

Weigh in for 1/18:

Current weight is 140.  Down 1 pound since the last weigh in.

I try to work out almost every day, with a break on Saturday or Sunday (or sometimes both).  I alternate each day with time on the elliptical and pilates/resistance band work/weights.  I try to shoot for at least 30 minutes of exercise.  Sometimes I split that up into 15 minute segments if my schedule is really horrid.  I'm a school teacher and I've started bringing my resistance band to school to use while my kids are at recess :-).  So far I've only been able to use it once, but its nice to have it available just in case :-)

Fitness Need advice about purchasing an elliptical machine. Dec 20 2007

My husband and I recently bought a Proform Razor from sears.com.  Total price including shipping to the door was 370 (we got a good deal with some internet specials)  I love it!  Its smaller, which is good for us because we live in a small house.  It also only goes between 12 and 16 for stride, but we're both short, so its perfect.  Going to the gym for us wasn't really realistic.  We live about 40 miles away from anything decent, and its hard to motivate yourself to drive that far to work out at the end of the day.

This is slightly off topic, but my husband likes to use the elliptical without the hand bars.  Instead he'll hold a video game controller and play to pass the time :-)  We also have a Wii, and you can definantly work up a sweat boxing!
